Yuffie let out a loud sigh as she slide down against the door outside her house. Her dad had yelled at her, again, about how she needed to grow up and leave him alone. Goda had said he wasn't that old and he could protect the town himself. Yuffie hated when he was in one of his moods.
It was the same arguement they had on a daily basis. Her dad, Goda, asked why she hadn't gone at and lived an actual life while she could enjoy herself. Then, she'd explain that she needed to stay home and take care of him and her town. Of course, he'd get pissed off, tell her to get a life and go to the pagoda.
So, anyway, on days like this she mooped around town and hung out in the bar to talk the bartenders ears off. Sure, she'd have a drink, but she'd never finish it, hence, never getting drunk. True, that had happened once and she didn't like how she was tortured the next day when she suffered from her hang over. Loud bells, noises, excessivelt bright sun, etc.
Ya, so she didn't follow that schedule today. Instead she decided to take a walk up near the mountain. True, the last real time she'd actually hung out up here was when she was hung up, up here. That stupid pig, Don Corneo. This caused her to growl. Then again, if it wasn't for him, she might not have teamed up with Avalanche. So she also had to thank him...sorta. But he was still a big fat pig!
Yuffie sat on a ledge for a while, unsure of what to do. Maybe she should travel and go adverturing again. But, what would her dad do alone, defending Wutai if anything happened. She would never forgive herself. Great, she was stick between a rock and a hard place. What was she supposed to do?
Her eyes shifted over to the Pagoda where her father was. Maybe she should have a heart to heart talk with the man. THAT WAS CRAZY! Why would she do that!? Right now, she sort of wished something big would happen and Vincent would call her back!
Maybe she could call Cloud and see what was going on in Edge? That'd be fun. A roadtrip! She'd think about it. She hadn't seen any of avalanche in awhile. Not that they visited her anyway... "Life sucks..." She muttered to herself or at least, she thought that.

Alex walked by on this bright day in Wutai. Alex is in a very good this particular day. No Karri, no Sarah (his girlfriend) to bug him about things she wants, everything was just great. Walking along the mountain tops, he saw a young girl sitting on the edge of the cliff, and overheard her saying the life sucks. Alex walked over and said to her,
"Life isn't that bad. You just need to go do something!" He chuckled as he said it.
"Anyway, you look like a good person who cares for at least something, I'm Alex." He offered his hand to shake and smiled birghtly with the sun on his face.

Wutai. Rain knew the place only through stories before, from old journeymen who sit at bars and taverns and tell their story to whoever wanted to hear, and even those who didn't. Yet now he is here. It took him a while to get here from the Eastern Continent, but it seemed to have worth it after his first glance at the place. He was standing of one the mountains in the area which had a few to the town below.
Why he was here, he did not know, but he never had a purpose in his travels anyway. It has been a long while now that he journeyed the world aimlessly, no where to go and no where to stay. He heard stories about people who fight for the planet, those who worked against Shin Ra and even the mighty Sephiroth, but it didn't seem like the path for him. These all were fighting for a reason, they all have something to lose or to gain. Before he could fight for the sake of something he needed to find a purpose. Years have passed since he took off, but he has yet to find one. It was all about survival.
All of this seemed to have vanished from his mind, though, as he viewed the town below. It was better than all the stories he have ever heard. Then, suddenly, something brought him back from his almost dream-like state. It was a voice, from not so far from him.
People… He muttered to himself. Rain never was the social type of person, and preferred to be left alone. Taking a cover behind a rock a few steps further, Rain scanned the area for the source of the voice. Apparently there were two of them, a male and a female. Perhaps they were travelers lie himself, or maybe not, but it didn't matter. Though it would be helpful if someone who knew the place would show him around a bit, Rain has always managed to get through on his on. Time to take off.
Getting out of his cover and heading to the opposite side, Rain was ready to get off the mountain to the town below, he could use a rest at the inn. Unfortunately, he wasn't cautious enough, as he accidentally hit a small rock with one of his feet, and sent it off the edge with a loud noise. No way he would remain unnoticed now, he sighed.

Yuffie felt her eyes shift to a newcomer as she stood up on the ledge and looked down at Alex. He looked like a typical traveler and she put her hands on her hips.
'Anyway, you look like a good person who cares for at least something, I'm Alex.'
Yuffie smiled lightly at the flattery. "Heh, thanks. I'd say you do to because of the comment! Nice ta meetcha. I'm Yuffie!" She stepped down from the ledge to take the guy's hand and shake it.
That's when she heard a loud banging and she instantly gripped the large shuriken on her back, looking to the source of the sound. Another guy was standing there, not looking happy about making the noise. "Can I help you!!?" She shouted over, still gripping her weapon. Yuff couldn't just let the guy walk free, he might be someone attempting to destroy towns or something and Wutai was her's to protect.

Alex noticed the other traveler and how Yuffie grasped her weapon. "Taking out your weapon is a very un-wise idea, Yuffie. If you wanted to fight something, hit a rock, or a tree or something in-animate. Anyway, sorry for the rude attitude, but I don't like it when people take weapons out on each other." He motioned her to put it away, and bowed for his impoliteness. Alex looked over to the new person. "Hello there. What brings you up here on this nice day?"

Rain turned in his place to face them, only to see that the girl already had her weapon drawn. No surprises there, he would've done the same thing. He remained silent for a few moments more after the man has asked for his intentions. They were an odd couple, these two. The girl was apparently hot-tempered and rash while the other was calm and rational.
"I guess that this nice day is the one that brings me up here", Rain replied with a slight shake of his head. "I am but a passenger of this land, a simple traveler". He turned to look at the girl and continued, "I have no intentions to harm either of you, or anyone else for that matter, but I will hold you no grudge for drawing your weapon. I shouldn't have startled you like I did". Of course, that was true. The last thing he wanted is to engage them.
He kept standing there, turning his look now to the view of the town below. It wasn't like anything he had ever seen, and was so different in its own way from the other cities and towns he knew. "I am Rain", he introduced himself with a nod of his head and turned to face them once more.
(OOC- Sorry for taking so long, I was out the whole day)

(OOC- That's fine! I have school anyway, so I have to wait until I get home to do anything on the sites. Oh, thanks for the compliment about Alex.  Alex stood there, also looking at the oriental city. "It is quite an old-fashoined place, isn't it?" Alex said after a few moments silence. "Anyway, I'm Alex, and this is Yuffie." Alex gestured over towards Yuffie, introducing himself and Yuffie. Alex bowed and came back up. He then looked back at the city, the bright afternoon sun shining down on his face, which brought forward a poem he had heard, conserning his mission, and he recited it in front of them... The warrior of light steps forward,
as does his enemy, the darkness,
and they engage
over a tranquil city,
submerged in lotus flowers and a great pagoda.
Their battle rages,
Their hearts quicken,
Their missoins clear.
Only one will stand as winner,
but only Time will tell as who it is.Alex frowned and looked down. "Why me?" He clenched his hand, and closed his eyes. "Why me!?!" he yelled into the sky. He relaxed and got control of himself. He sighed, turned back to them, and said, "Sorry about that. You now might think I'm insane or something, and you have every right to think that. I'm just... Well, who wants to learn about history?" Alex told them of his job to kill the supreme evil, a.k.a. his Sister, Karri, and live for a supposedly 7,000 years. He stopped afterwards, waiting for them to reply. |

Yuffie blinked a couple of times. Her hand was just on the weapon, it's not like she has pulled it and started to use it. No, it was just in case so she didn't need to waste time in reaching for it if something did happen. But, even at his warning, she stayed prepared.

Yuffie, only now, loosened her grip on her shuriken and let her arm fall back to her side, nodding. As she grinned and went to introduce herself, Alex spoke up.
'It is quite an old-fashioned place, isn't it? Anyway, I'm Alex, and this is Yuffie.'
Yuffie glanced to him and nodded. "Ya, I'm the main peep in charge of the town's safety. It's called Wutai. Nice ta meetcha both!"
But, after a minute, the Alex guy began to recite a poem. It seemed to refer to a war over Wutai. It was almost like it was from the war a few year back that Shinra had started, speaking of Shinra, boy, did she hate him! Then, the dude spoke up again and she blinked at his outburst, jumping back.
Luckily, she caught her balance or she might have ended up at the bottom of the mountain.
'Sorry about that. You now might think I'm insane or something, and you have every right to think that. I'm just... Well, who wants to learn about history?'
Yuffie listened and seemed completely baffled, now sitting on the dirt and looking up at Alex, glancing over at Rain ever now and again. "Yah....I do think you're insane. I mean, there shouldn't be anything bad now! Sephiroth, Geo-stigma and the remnants, Neo-Behemoth, and Deepground. I mean, there can't be ANOTHER bad thing..."

Alex looked back at Yuffie, with an annoied stare. He turned slowly, only moving his head.
"Nothing to worry about?" Alex chuckled slightly. "You are WAY off!" He turned away, once again overlooking the city. "This isn't the day, nor the time. Hundreds of years later, maybe thousands, will this 'battle' I have described have occured. So as of now, you and the village," He turned back around, with a slight grin on his face, "Are in no danger, whatsoever." His mood turned into a frown, and stared at both of them, trying to tell them each a message in only eye contact. "However, should you encounter a girl, usually coated in a deep black aura of energy, and her name is Karri, run your ass off."
He sighed at the mention of her name. "She will completely and un-doubtably KILL you. And I'm sure you don't want that to happen." Alex walked over to Yuffie and offered his hand to help her up. "Oh, by the way..." His cheerful disposition returned. "Sorry for the scare."
