A loud clank came from the hood of the pick-up truck when Tifa mentioned the name Shin-Ra and also spoke about the Space Exploration project being canceled. Shin-Ra were the worst and Arddyn hated them with such a strong passion it felt like he could crush the world in his hands using it. The clank sound came from Arddyn who hit the Rust Removal tool against the engine, gritting his teeth. He stopped his work for a second and hung his head, resting both his hands on either side of the hood of the truck and closed his eyes letting out a small sigh.
"Brother... why'd you mess with Shin-Ra for...?" He said out loud but mainly towards himself. Anger we clearly visible in his tone, but that soon vanished when He stood and turned to face Tifa, who now had her back to him and was leaning against the side of the pick-up. He looked at her silently for a while, watching her as she spoke some more. As she spoke however, he returned to the engine and scrapped out the last reminding rust from most of the engine. It put a smile on his face to see the metal that was hidden underneath. That was the hard part done, and it took him mere seconds to get the engine back into a satisfactory and safer state of health.
"The Sierra is Cid's pride and joy. I helped him build it. Long story short, it's the Highwind, but just modified and updated and rebuilt. If you stare at is closely enough, you'll see the old rocket parts that used to make up the Highwind. He one day just jumped in and flew off in it. Haven't seen him since..." The mechanic explain to Tifa after she asked, while continuing to work on the engine, now starting to replaces mosrt of the wires as well as fitting a new radiator fan and car battery. The whole inside of the hood of the gray pick-up now looked 100 times more healthy and more appealing to the eye.

Tifa silenced herself and refrained from talking about the ShinRa after that. The subject was difficult for them both, and one didn't have to be a genius to figure out this man was deeply saddened and much enraged about the mere existance of corrupted corperation just as she was. At least, she thought, that was something they could both share.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Oh I see..."[/glow] she murmured as the mechanic further explained exactly what the Sierra was. She hadn't seen the Highwind since that day. It was already a magnificent structure as it was, Tifa recalled. But further modifications and advancements just made her wonder... she couldn't wait to see it. That is, if she ever got the chance. Tearing her gaze away from the ceiling to look back at the engine, she was surprised at the certain changes made in the small amount of time. The car battery was replaced and most of the rust were removed. The radiator fan was replaced as well as if she knew what that meant. Back then she would always used to turn to Cloud to repair the outdated truck, but this was the best job she had seen so far.
[glow=blue,2,300]"No extra charges, I hope!"[/glow] she teased once more, and was for the first time (while owning this vehicle) excited to take it for a spin.

The Cid looka-alike pushed himself up from the new engine that rested happily inside the hood of the gray pick-up and grabbed a cloth against clean off some of the oil and rust that had gathered on his palms and fingers. Turning to Tifa and chucking the cloth onto a table nearby, he grinned at her and and shook his head slightly at her. He then silently waled around to the back of the truck and kicked at the exhaust pipe that was hanging on by a couple of rusty bolts.
"Lemme replace this first and give it a full tank of gas and then you'll be able to take it for a spin." He said with another sticking up of his thumb as he smiled once more, already having taken his mind off of the Shin-Ra be focusing more on the truck and the work that still needed to be done on it. Arddyn knelt down and looked underneath the truck, checking to make sure that when himself and Tifa pushed it into the workshop, that the four wheels stopped on some small platforms that were resting on the ground. Upon finding this the case, he got back to his feet and headed over towards the wall with the doors that his chocobo burst though.
"I need to lift the truck up now off the floor so I can replace the exhaust..." He mentioned with a smile as he looked towards Tifa who seemed to still be leaning against the side of the truck.

Tifa watched again as Arddyn continued on in his work. As he disappeared to look under the truck, she pulled out her PHS again... she couldn't help but do so. Still no answer from Cloud. Where was he? she continually asked herself, slightly annoyed. She dialed on the keypad, sending a simple text to the chocobo-blonde haired man. Hopefully he'd respond. Just... maybe...
After doing so, Arddyn spoke again. She hadn't noticed him head over to the other side of the room by the doors. Then again, she hadn't realized she was still leaning against the truck. Tucking away her cell, she looked back with an apologetic, sheepish grin.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Sure! No problem..."[/glow] Tifa backed away from the vehicle and looked on with a keen sort of interest she had never shown for the one and only mode of transportation she had once hated. [glow=blue,2,300]"Need any help with anything?"[/glow]
(Ooc- Sorry. I'm all out of muse today too ><)

As Tifa pocketed her cell and stepped away from the pick-up truck, Arddyn pressed a button on the wall. A loud clanking sound filled the room for a second before the sound of steam powered pumps activated, pushing up large metallic pistons which on top rested the pick-up was resting. The old pick-up found itself slowly being raised up into the air, revealing its underside for the dirty blonde haired mechanic to examining and for Tifa to peak at is she so desired. As Cid's younger brother removed his finger from the button, the large machine built underneath the workshop hisses as it released the steam being built up within the large pistons. The sound always put a large grin on Arddyn's face, as the massive machine, hidden to all eyes underground, was hand made from start to finish by the mechanic genius that stood before Tifa.
Arddyn then hopped happily back over to the truck and stood beneath it. The fear that the pistons failing or that the truck itself could have crashed down on top of him, never once crossed his mind. After all, the man was a mechanic genius. His inventions never went into full use without having been tested on time and time again. He then turned to Tifa and gave her a smile as she offered to help.
"Sure..." He said as he turned around and pointed up at the rusty looking exhaust pipe that started from the rear of the truck and made its way along the entire underneath up to where the new engine had been fitted. It was clear to see, even to an unexperienced person, that this exhaust had long passed up on life, as it was full of holes and was about to fall off on its own accord. "...See this metal pipe? If you grab it at one end, and i'll get the other. Just give it a good pull till it comes off and detaches itself from the main chassis of the truck.... Oh, and don't be worried about standing under the truck, i've used this thousands of times in the past and I always check to see if it's in full working order." He finished off with a grin as he stepped under the truck once again and stood near the engine. Looking up, and lifting up his arms and took hold of the exhaust pipe and waited for Tifa to do the same.
((aww xD Thats alright =D We all need to have a day off to let the Muse recharge =3))

A lone grey wolf strayed away from its pack and wandered into town. You would've thought that someone would've noticed some sort of rouge canine pass by the sleepy village of Rocket Town. But no one did today. It wandered into the nearest house (which happened to be the workshop) and hunched back on its hind legs, watching silently by the doorway as two figures went along their business.
This particular wolf knew it wasn't smart to mess with humans. They were strong, intelligent creatures. So the wolf didn't bother with them at all. However, a strong scent caught the wolf's nostrils. A scent so familiar... so delicious...
Chocobo.
Silently the wolf followed the scent quickly crawling to the other side of the warehouse. There was a chocobo nearby. Most indefinately. Till finally it found the chocobo known as Boko. Bearing its teeth at the large bird, it snarled viciously. The wolf grew hungry at the sight of large bird... it was so tempting. Perhaps it could have a bit of sport before the meal.

From the corner of her eye, Tifa spotted movement. But by the time she could see what it was, the thing was already gone. 'Hmm, weird' she thought and returned to the matter at hand. Having no knowledge whatsoever in engineering or even any experience repairing anything with a motor, Tifa had offered her help. At least, an extra pair of hands. She watched as the vehicle rose from the floor thanks to the mechanical pistons she hadn't noticed 'til now. Before she could ask what in Gaia's name what a chassis was, Arddyn pointed out the exhaust pipe -- it was worn out and rusty, just as the engine was a moment ago. That definately needed changing...
[glow=blue,2,300]"Worried? I'm not worried... Who isn't worried about a few hundred pounds of metal suspended overhead?"[/glow] she replied with a tone of sarcasm in her voice, and a playful smile on the side of her lips. Taking a tight grip on one end of the metallic pipe as Arddyn instructed, she tried to pull it off. It her took about 4-5 attempts until she was able to sucessfully remove her end of the pipe. While doing so, a bit of dust and debris came falling from under the chassis. Looking away to refrain getting anything in her eye, that was when she spotted it. It was a wolf! 'A wolf? In Rocket Town?' she wondered curiously.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Arddyn. You never mentioned you had a wolf for a pet either..." [/glow]she murmured rather cautiously, turning serious. It didn't look friendly nor did it look tame. And she certainly didn't like the way it was eying Arddyn's 'best friend'. When the beast began to snarl towards the chocobo, it was all too clear this beast wasn't here for a friendly visit.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Arddyn!"[/glow] she warned.

Arddyn laughed to himself out loud at Tifa's comment about not being worried with a truck weighing a few hundred pounds floating above your head. The mechanic continued to smile to himself after this and couldn't help let out the odd chuckle every now and then. When he noticed Tifa reach up and grab hold of the exhaust pipe at her end, the Cid look-alike did the same and lifted up his hands and took a firm grip on the rusty pipe. It sure didn't feel like leaving the underneath of the truck anytime soon, as it took him a few attempts as well to yank his end of the pipe off, that comically bumped the top of his head with a loud clank.
"OW!!" He yelped with a tear in his eye. He dropped his end of the exhaust that bounced off the floor a couple of times, leaving a pile of rust and small metal shards behind, and lifted up his hands and held the top of his head for a second, rubbing it a couple of times before hearing what Tifa just said to him. He raised an eyebrow at her and chuckled slightly, shrugging his shoulders the same way Cloud used to.
"A wolf? I don't own a pet wolf... Just good ol' Boko out the back..." Arddyn turned around and pointed at the back door which the large yellow bird had previously charged through and then, his eyes widen when spotting something moving outside... something that wasn't, bird shaped or yellow! With that instant feeling that something bad was going to happen, the young mechanic ran out from under the truck and grabbed a handful of tools from a table nearby, spanners and wrenches and the like, and also grabbed his home made spear that was resting against a wall by the back door.
Fearing for the life of his beloved chocobo, Arddyn lifted up a foot and kicked open the back doors to the area behind the workshop that was built for Boko as an area for him to walk around and stretch his legs. Thats when he caught sight of the rather menacing looking wolf.
"BOKO!! Get out of here!!!" Arddyn yelled as he ran towards the wolf, throwing the handful of metal tools at the beast.

The grey wolf licked its lips as it continued to snarl at the overgrown, flightless bird. Paw after paw, it approached ever so slowly towards its prey. A moment just before the rouge canine was about to pounce on its meal, a sudden thud was heard. It looked over, startled, only to find the two humans had dropped the metallic pipe- the wolf had just been found. One of the humans approached and kicked open the door so the chocobo could flee for its life. That same human then began to throw strangely shaped metallic objects at the wolf. It took several steps back to avoid being hit, however, a heavy looking wrench managed to hit the wolf's left side of its rib cage.
It yelped in pain, averting its gaze from the chocobo towards the human with much distain. It was going to pay for interfering with it's prey. It barked back and snarled fericiously than ever before, eyeing the human. It took a step back only to run towards the man and lunged itself as if to bite the man with his razor sharp, yellow-stained teeth.

Before she knew it, Arddyn dropped his end of the exhaust. Unable to bear the weight of the metallic pipe alone, Tifa let go of her end as well, making a loud thud on the ground making some dust and debris to disperse into the air. Tifa coughed as she accidentally inhaled some of the dust... she was much to focused on the wolf than the large pipe they had now dropped.
As the dust cleared, Arddyn had already disappeared and went to attack the wolf by throwing some of his tools at it. He had managed to hit the wolf but feared it only angered the beast. Within a heartbeat, the wolf was about to tackle Arddyn.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Watch out!"[/glow] Tifa sprinted in the wolf's direction and counter-attacked with a roundhouse kick before it could harm either Arddyn or Boko. She refrained from using any materia spells in fear of further aggrivating the beast, but killing it wasn't one of her intentions either.

The chocobo had bolted it's bright yellow head upwards and warked nosily at the wolf before running at full speed through the workshop and out into the main area of Rocket Town, still warking angrily which could be heard from the back yard that Arddyn, Tifa and the rather hungry looking wolf found themselves in. The mechanic was able to get a very good look at the beast now and, although he smirked and laughed as one of his tools bounced off the creatures torso, it only seemed to became more enraged, which made Arddyn worry. Now not only Boko was in danger, by the rest of the entire village as well!
Not noticing Tifa sprint up behind him, the dirty blonde haired man dived sideways and rolled cross the floor, avoiding being bitten by the razor sharp teeth from the wolf thanks to the swift and powerful looking kick that the athletic and physically fit woman used to attack with. As the Cid look-alike came to a stand still after rolling across the short, bright green grass, he stood back to his feet in an instant and span his long spear around in his hands before getting into an offensive fighting stance. Nothing, and he means, NOTHING tries to attack his prised Chocobo and manage to get away safely.

The canine landed face down on the ground after taking a hit from the female. She was strong, there wasn't any doubt of it. It struggled to get back up on all four paws but it continued to stare and growl ferociously at the dirty blonde haired male, now defiantly standing with a primative spear in hand. It snorted out of defeat. Injured and unaided, the wolf was smart enough to know it wouldn't win this fight.
The cunning wolf turned its back on the humans and retreated, returning from the plains from whence it came. It would return again, but not alone...

The brunette held up her fists with her feet spread evenly apart, watching the wolf carefully, ready to attack if and when the wild animal would make another unexpected move -- she had noticed that wild animals were always less dangerous but more unpredictable than other formidable foes she had encountered in the past. Anything could happen.
She clenthed her fists so hard that the leather gloves began to squeek. As Arddyn got a hold of his weapon, she could've sworn it felt like Cid was fighting alongside her once again. And then the wolf did something unexpected. It turned away and left. Tifa lowered her guard but kept her gaze upon the wolf until she could no longer see it. That was just a little too easy, she thought rather curiously. At least it was gone. When the wolf was no longer in sight, she turned her attention back at Arddyn. [glow=blue,2,300]"Are you okay? How's Boko?"[/glow]

Arddyn kept his face locked into a serious glare and his eyes steadily focused on the wolf. He knew Tifa was standing nearby and that she had her guard up. The Cid look-alike could see her out the corner of his eye and a smile spread across his lips as the two of them prepared themselves to face off against the wild looking animal, that was muscular and able to cause some serious damage if it intended to, but as the young mechanic noticed the wolf take a few steps back before turning tail and retreating back into the safety of the plains, the young man lowered his spear and took out a cigarette from his breast pocket in his coat, but was unable to light the end with a match as all of a sudden, a large mass of yellow feathers had come from out of no where and tackled the mechanic to the group, warking chirping happily showing its affection to his master with endless nuzzles.
"Ahh! Hahaa! Stoppit! Leggo!!!" The Cid look-alike cried while laughing with swirly eyes and small chocobo's dancing around his head as he laid there on the floor underneath the large bird. The large bird finally got back to his feet and ran up to Tifa, warking happily and starting to nuzzle her now, but without the American Footballer style tackle.

Tifa smirked as the overgrown bird charged at Arddyn once more with boundless appreciative nuzzles. She couldn't help but laugh a bit herself as the chocobo came towards her and nuzzled against her cheek -- its yellow feathers were soft to the touch as Tifa stroked the side of its neck the way she did when she first met the creature.
[glow=blue,2,300]"I'll take that as a 'yes, you're okay'."[/glow] she doted, scratching behind the chocobo's ear. Upon closer observation, it didn't appear her friends, the bird and its master, were harmed in any way.
[glow=blue,2,300]"I wonder where that thing came from..."[/glow] as Tifa vocalized her inner thoughts, she looked back out at the open wondering curiously whether if that wolf was gone for good or if it would return again. Even through this optimistic fasçade the brunette almost always displayed for her friends, she was almost certain that if it did come back it wasn't going to a pleasent. Looking back at the chocobo, it reassured her that everything was going to be alright. Somehow.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Well, at least you guys are safe now."[/glow]
