It is perfectly well as it is. Take into account that since its based on chance you can (theoretically) get to the boss round without getting hit even a single time, or vice versa, and lose in the first round before hitting the enemy.
And Aeris also haven't used any Materia, weapon, armor or these kind of things whatsoever.
