Cal was getting off of the airship. He'd been traveling for days, looking for Genesis copies and unfortunately having to fight himself continually. It's a lot less entertaining when DeepGround can just make clones of you every time you get on their trail. Damn that genesis. He knew there was the presence of DeepGround here ever since Cloud last fought Kadaj in this place, but having the amazing ability to gather information is completely useless if you can't find what you're looking for.
Cal remembered back to what had happened in Wutai not too long ago. He and Alexia were successful in destroying the DeepGround training facility near by, and they'd only lost a few members of their group. For some reason though, Alexia just disappeared one day, without a goodbye. Looking for hr as well, it was as if he was chasing ghosts.
"Cal," said the blue haired man named Reese, "We're prepared for our assault. All fifty of us will pan out and begin searching."
"No," said Cal. "I sense some very dangerous forces around here. I know you'd be fine Reese, but the other men would end up fighting too costly of a battle. Take the ship, and the men, and go back to Midgar. I need you to relay that message I gave you to Raistlin."
"Allright. We'll be back if you need us."
With that, the airship took off at top speed, leaving Cal alone in the Forgotten Capital. Lighting a cigarette, Cal began walking through the woods slowly, searching for the presence of those people he'd sensed earlier. Suddenly, he stopped. Alexia was here! Along with some one else... a fellow ex-soldier? Using his psychic power, he followed them slowly, at his own pace. If he recalled correctly, Alexia didn't like cigarette smoke. Wait, two more presences? One was masked extremely well, probably a copy of sorts or some animal, but the other was not afraid of showing his presence. In fact, he was quite hostile.
"Damn. Just when I thought we'd have a happy reunion. No one is gonna lay a hand on Alexia when I'm around!" Running at full speed and activating his haste, Cal ran into the clearing by the lake. He saw who he was looking for, and stepped in front of him with his sword and chain ready for attack. "I suggest you give up." Cal luged forward, engulfing himself in electricity and psionic energy. "FURY STORM!!!!!"
Cal's sword came in contact with the attacker's chest, and from the tip of the blade all the energy surrounding Cal exploded. A massive ball of elctricity held together by psionic power pushed hard into the attacker, engulfing him in a powerful surge and launching him into a tree, which aptly snapped in half.
Turning to look at Alexia, Cal grinned. "Long time no see beautiful. Where the hell ya' been?"
