It was another usual day in a usual town and a red-haired female mechanic seated in her Vespa motorcycle just at the outskirts of Rocket Town, holding some kind of device in one hand and a screwdriver in the other as she fixed the said machine without much of a problem. Why she is here, nobody knows, but one thing's for sure, if anyone from the town ask who the strange girl in the Vespa is, they would gladly reply that she is the next 'Cid Highwind' in their town, with her aspiring thoughts and ingenious mind at work. In truth, her name was Faye, Faye Flannigan, and she's mostly known to the people around as the female mechanic protegé. Her knowledge might be next to Cid's. but at least she's trying to aim for the stars herself.
After a few minutes or so, the red-haired female stretched from her place as she looked at her latest machine in which she had fixed. It was actually a component of a larger thing, which was her faithful robot,I-No. I-No was a 8-foot-tall machine robot powered by Mako technology and a little bit of a upgrading from Faye in which was more than glad to be used for battle since she can call him via inter-dimension warp with the use of her IG-Hammer, her best weapon so far, and with just a order or depends on the robot's will, I-No can attack with a very strong attack to everyone who opposes her. It was one of the things she was proud off, and so does her other things she uses in battle like the little robots called MicroChomps and the other things.
She looked around once more before placing her finished component in a messenger bag sligned at her, and started the engine of her motorcycle as she waited for a right time to move out from where she is to window-shop around her hometown for some junks she can make with into other of her collections. Well, at least she have something to do if she gets the time off fixing Cid's ships, especially the Shierra.

Along the main entrance of Rocket town was standing a man with azure hair. His dim yellow-red eyes analyzed what was standing before him. He had just come out from another fight with his clothes torn and covered in dirt. After looking at the simple structures and large-rusting rocket statue, he entered the town and proceeded down a short small path. Some of the structures had signs hanging on a poll over the doors. Each sign symbolized something-for example the cross swords meant weaponry-the shield meant armory. Glass windows revealed the best buys that the owner or owners can offer.
However, what this stranger was looking for was an inn, not some armory or weapon shop. It appeared to be very peaceful in Rocket town. The trees were rustling against the wind. The town’s folks conversed, shopped, and played pranks. There was one house that caught the stranger’s eyes, and it was the house that had a collection of planes in the backyard. Of course, this stranger didn’t know what a plane was, or that the large bullet shaped object standing not to far over the town was called a rocket.
For the time being, he continued his search for an inn. Once he found one, he entered through the door and approached the counter, while making soft creaking sounds across the floor board. After registering at the counter, he was escorted to the guest’s room, and was left with the key. He entered the given room, looked at his surroundings, and sat on the bed. His fingers ran through the soft fur-like material that was the bed cover. It was very soft on the stranger’s rough skin. The feeling took an affect on him. It was like he was about to fall asleep.
That would have been nice, but his top priority at the moment was to clean himself. He pushed himself off the bed, entered the bathroom, undressed, opened the water, and took a shower. Later, he changed into a light-fabric polo shirt and black jeans, which were extra clothes provided in the inn. He then approached the counter and gave his clothing to be washed. When he bowed his head in appreciation, the next thing he did was take a short stroll around the town, with his katana hanging behind his back. As soon as he took a step out of the door, he placed his hands in his pockets and inhaled for a long moment before exhaling.
It was then he heard a roaring sound coming from his left. He wondered who it was and so he decided to find out. The sound was familiar. Perhaps it was a monster. If it was a monster though, everyone would have been running around. That was the most likely outcome. Just incase it was a monster; he was going to stare it down with his katana as soon as he found it. Yes, this was a stupid action to take, but he was fatigued, nevertheless he was strongly curious to know more about Rocket town, and so he forgot all about sleeping after taking a shower.
The noise was becoming much stronger. The stranger suddenly dashed and turned in the next intersection and pulled out his katana in front of what he thought may have been a monster. Although this may have been the case, it wasn’t. The stranger was pointing the tip of the blade less than an inch close to a person’s nose.

The female just finished with her adjustments at another place of the town and was about to ordered I-No, which was whirring alive and waiting for her orders, when a blade was pointed about an inch close to her nose, in which she nearly toppled over if it weren't for her balanced footing. Blinking first, she doesn't know what to do, though there's one thing comming from her mind; what in the world this guy is doing?
Before everything else happen, I-No, who sensed that his master is in danger, was about to summon a cannon when the red-head held up her hands in a command and he lowered his weapon down.
"Sorry about I-No, I just fixed him and he's kinda touché when woken up." The female said in a laid-back yet assured tone. "Anyway, he's mine so he follows what I say, no need to fret." She was about to continue on when she noticed that he's not from around here and removed the goggles from her eye towards her forehead and observed her closely, her bright, golden eyes etched with curiosity and wonder.

The stranger sheathed his katana at the sight of a red haired female. His dim yellow-red eyes gazed at the machine before looking back towards the girl. He slowly shook his head and spoke in a mannerly voice. “No, I should be the one apologizing,” he said before nodding his head and saying sorry. “I thought I heard the sound of a monster so I came to take a look.” It was his hope that he would be able to clear this matter, but then he became distracted once again by the presence of the machine, gazing at it with amazement. Of course, it was natural for him to act like this, even when he saw other contraptions such as planes, motorcycles, and cars.
He then brought his eyes back towards the female. His head slightly jolted back from the tense expression across her face. In the past if he were to do this, he would have covered or closed his eyes as well, but now he was use to people looking at him the way they did. He formed a tiny smirk when he saw her glimmering gold eyes. Just by looking at them at first glance he was already feeling envious.
Although he wanted to move, his feet didn’t seem to listen, and so he stood frozen while the female observed him closely. He was able to speak, but “Umm…” was the only thing that came out of his mouth. In a way though, he was pointing out that he was uncomfortable with the intense staring. He still didn’t know how to respond to others when they looked at him, so all he did for now was look back at her with the same expression she was giving him, while he stood motionless with his hands in his pockets.

"Oh, s'rry~!" The female have realize she have looked a little too close to invade his personal space as she stepped back and grinned sheepishly, showing that she's not mostly the type who would be caught ranting off for no reason, unless it was in sugar rush. She looked back once more to see I-No in a 'stand-by' mode which was activated when the robot was in an idle state and looked back at the guy with a grin in her face. Since that she was now engaged in a conversation, somehow, well that won't help if she just stand around doing nothing. Besides, if Cid caught her being idled herself, she's dead!
Clearing her throat, she spoke once more in a friendly manner as she extended her hands in a greeting. "Anyway," The red-head began. "The name's Fay Flannigan, master mechanic and Cid Highwind's protegé, at your service! And you are?" She introduced, hoping she won't get him offended in the way she introduced herself.

When the red-haired female moved away and finally spoke, the stranger’s expression changed back to a smirk. “It’s alright,” responded the man. He then tilted his head slightly to the left when she turned to look at I-No. When he moved his eyes towards the robot, the female had suddenly turned to look at him. She spoke to him once more. He brought his gaze towards her a few seconds after. When she introduced herself, he showed a more revealing smile. “I see. It’s a pleasure to meet you… I wish I could introduce myself, but-“he paused before continuing, trying to find the right words to say, “I don’t know who I am.” The stranger said with a shrug. He then slightly raised his left eyebrow. “Who is this Cid?” the stranger asked with an oblivious yet curious tone. He straightened his head and suddenly spoke with more volume. He had just realized something in time. “Ah, now not only must I apologize for what I had just done earlier ago, I also need to say sorry for not being able to tell you who I am or acknowledging who this Cid person is.” He showed to her a mannerly demeanor through the qualities of being self-controlled and calm. Sometimes this quality served as a weakness, and a foolish reason that would cause others to dislike him.
He sighed, attempting to once again introduce himself. "I am a traveler. I just arrived here recently and had decided to stay for a day or two. And so for the time being, I'm trying to familiarize myself with this town." His gaze kept moving back towards the machine. It was just that he was an admirer of the sort. He found flying, moving through ground and water, as something more amazing than his superhuman capabilities, where in contrast, the average person would find superhuman capabilities more amazing than flying through air, ground, and water.

"A traveler?" The female asked, and then grinned. "Oh, I always have a small spot for travelers, but then again I've been one myself!" She grinned then looked at him in which he was looking at the robot behind her. With a grin at her face, she spoke once more, technically glad that someone took interest at her creation.
"So, what do you think of I-No? Isn't he grand, I made him myself out of scraps, and he's a great help along the way. Don't worry, he might have the strenght of a gigas, but he has a heart of a chocobo." Faye said, snapping her fingers as I-No 'woke up' from its hibernation state and stood up to make a bow at the guy below, the screen which was his head blinked showing that he's now active. "Right, he says nice to meet you." She said with a cheery tone.

"So you've been one as well..." he clarified with a softer voice. His voice suddenly returned to it's usual volume. "So you decided to settle here?"
The stranger held his head up high while his eyes looked over the robot. He slowly approached the robot in order to get a better look. “I’ve never seen something like this before,” he said in all honesty. He then moved around the robot, crouching and leaning at times. He looked onwards with a hint of astonishment in his expression. He turned his head slightly to the right in order to have a good look at Faye. “You can create these remarkable things?” When he said ‘things’, it just went to show that he was oblivious of the general terminology-machines. Of course, he was also oblivious of the terms-robot, planes, ships, submarines, trains, and so on.
He looked back towards the amazing invention. “It’s a pleasure to meet you I-No,” stated the stranger as he brought out his right hand and extended it towards the robot.

Waving her hand a bit, Faye answered his question with another sheepish grin and a gesture as she chuckled slightly at the innocent-like of the male.
"Nah, I really live here, decided to stay around the town a bit longer before I go off again, some jobs Cid wants me to do." She said with etheusiasm in her tone. She was fond of Rocket Town and Cid, in which she conciders him as her second dad since her own, biological one is somewhere around the world since he's an archeologist studying about the ancient life of humans and the Lifestream and she decided that Faye should be staying here.
Still interested at his musing with her robot, she blushed a bit since she was being praised in which she always does when being praised, showing that she's not really that boastful as everyone says, although she takes pride in her works most of the time. In reply the male's question, the red-head nodded as she grinned once more. "Well, I can also make airships, but not as great as Cid's, though I could make other stuff too, out of habit of mine, you know." She said with a grin.
I-No blinked its screen-like face which its head takes a form of a television, since it can't really much speak only few words, as it took a bow and made a beeping sound.
"I-No's delighted to hear that, he says." Faye translated, her hands once more in her head.

The stranger watched as I-No bowed to him and produced a beeping sound, while Faye translated to the stranger what the robot was trying to say through his gesture. The stranger brought his right hand across his torso and over to his opposite shoulder, as he took his own bow by leaning his torso forward. He then straightened his posture and brought his dim eyes towards Faye. “I should get myself one of these next…” he tried to come up with a word. “Creations,” he said with enthusiasm in his tone. “It would be a comforting companion.” He placed his right hand in his pocket once more and brought out a sigh and shrug. “Then again, I always get into trouble, and it might not be able to handle the dangers I get myself into.”
The stranger raised his right eyebrow slightly. “What’s an airship?” he paused for a moment before continuing to speak. She still didn’t answer who Cid Highwind was. “I presume this Cid Highwind person is pretty much famous. Unfortunately, I still don’t know who he is.” He crossed his arms and looked over her, gazing at the huge object standing over them. He was wondering if this Cid person made that huge object.
With his mind entirely focused on it, he didn’t notice that he was showing a naked expression of amazement and wonder. The stranger had forgotten about everything else for that moment. When he brought his attention towards her, he saw her face possess a red tone, surprising how he didn’t notice it earlier. He had never seen anything like it. Before he was able to ask why it was red, an idea came to mind.
Instead of having to look around and figure out everything he sees, he could ask her. To be informed by a knowledgeable person is easier and the quickest way in getting to know things, especially if it’s a town. “May I ask you, if you are interested in escorting me around this town? Perhaps I can learn quickly about this place from a knowledgeable person such as you, and gain a deeper understanding of these things.” When he said things, again he was referring to machines. “I am especially interested in learning more about you, such as why your face is entirely red. I have never seen something like that before.”

"Oh, he's famous, alright," She chirped with a grin. "Just one tip; when he ask you if you wanted to have a tea, accept it." She ended, still vivid in her thoughts about the incident in which she decline Cid's tea which resulted her to be pummeled with random things until she accepted against her will.
When he said about her touring him around town, she was more than glad to oblidge as the red-head nodded in reply, and when she heard him say something about her face getting red, she blushed a bit more since he found out she was blushing in which the only reason is that her I-No was being praised. With a sheepish chuckle, Faye smiled widely as she replied back to such a polite male.
"Sure, and if we're lucky, we might even get to see Cid and introduce him to you, waddya say, eh?"

“Tea…?” The stranger stared up at the sky for a short silent moment. While he was looking up at the slowly passing clouds, he tried to imagine this Cid person. For one thing, if this Cid person was like Faye, then perhaps he would be carrying all those tools as well, and maybe he had a robot companion also. This is what the stranger imagined. However, he was lacking description and creativity. What he visualized was a muscular Faye. His facial expression dulled for a few seconds before it changed back. He sighed as he slowly brought his head down and looked at Faye. “I guess so,” the stranger said unsurely.
He started to look at their surroundings. He wondered where he was. Yes, he didn’t have a good sense of direction when it came to new places. “But, where should I go first?” He said with calm curiosity. Although he didn’t seem excited, he actually was. It was just that he was self-controlled. Perhaps this was his one and only opportunity to learn about machines. He had numerous questions that he wanted to ask her, and probably this Cid person. The stranger suddenly brought his eyes towards Faye. “Would you like to be the one to lead me around?”

Faye nodded in reply as she waved her right hand towards I-No as if gesturing to head back ahead of her as the machine replied and used her left hand to grab the male's wrist while an etheusiasm spread at her lips.
"Alright-y then, just come along with me, you'll love it here!" She said with a smile as she dragged the male and showed him around, to the usual shops and weapon stores, some significant places and then to the garage where most of Cid's airships are place. When they reach to that place, she looked at both place to see if the coast is clear and let go to his wrist as she signaled him to follow her.
"Don't worry, since Cid's like a father-figure to me, it's alright to him if I go inside the garage and stuff, might want to see more about those airships, eh?" And just before she let him answer, she pulled out a picture of a man around 30 or so, with blonde hair and goggles in his head and apparently holds a cigarette in his mouth. "This is Cid Highwind, and he owns this place!" Faye described with a proud tone in her voice. "Yeah, he looks like a old fart, but he's a [retty good old fart to start up with, eh?" She added with a pleased tone in her voice.

As the stranger yawned, his eyes jerked open for an instant after he was grabbed by the wrist and was tugged from place to place. His torso was leaning forward while his pulled arm was being stretched forward. His opposite arm was dangling on his side, while his feet tried to follow Faye’s pace. He tried to lift his head in order to look at the places they were passing by, but his head was down for most of the time so he usually had to look side to side while his face was pointing downwards.
Once she had released his wrist, he straightened his posture and rotated his wrist. He suddenly shrugged as she signaled him to follow her. He complied with her signal and walked over to her side as she spoke about Cid and the airships he was always curious about. She suddenly placed a picture in front of his face. This time he didn’t react to the sudden action. The picture that was placed in front of his face appeared to be the Cid that Faye was talking about.
His curious expression was replaced by a look of relief. He had thought that this Cid person would look like Faye. Of course, he lacked creativity and visualization. He placed his hands in his pockets and looked over the picture and towards Faye. “Is he by chance the one who made that large object standing not to far from the town?”

"Most of it," Faye said with a grin. "But some of them are made by me, though I don't have much fund for making a real-working airships, but I ain't a mechanic for nothing, right?" She said with a wink before admiring Cid's work. She have look up at him all these years ever since she first laid her eyes on his airships and towards his skills. It must have been destiny that brought her here in Rocket Town, after her father announced that she and her little brother would stay in Rocket Town with their blind mother. She always lean of her father, but after he left for his studies, she tried her best to make friends and after that 'incident', she accidentally met Cid and she have fall head over heels in love with not the person himself but with his works and abilities, and trying to surpass it, Faye began to be his protegé after he found out her abilities and skills. If it weren't for Cid Highwind, Faye wouldn't be where she is today.
"To tell you frankly," Faye began. "I've fallen head opver hells in love with making stuff and machines because of him, and he's the reason I'm still alive, and I owe a lot to him. That's why when I heard he joined AVALANCHE, I reckon that I would help him and his friends in anyway possible, even if it means risking my life to save him and his works." She gave a small chuckle at that thought as the red-haired female continued. "I could be that sentimental, but not that stupid." She said, chuckling at her own thought about it.
