Damani wiped the sweat off of her forehead. She wasn't used to heat like this, the area she was raised in (not too far away from Midgar actually) never got hotter than the 70's, and that was fine with her. She took in a deep breath of moist air and coughed slightly. The mechanical parts of her weren't taking to the wetness, and she knew it wouldn't be very long before she would have to move on. No couple days of rest for her. What angered her most was that she couldn't find the village through the mess of greenery that made up the surrounding jungle.
She hadn't been able to find the path that she could vaguely remember being there, though she wasn't exactly sure how she could remember something like that when she had never even been here before. She had never left her laboratory that was her home for the year was her known life until recently, and this was her first time ever leaving her home continent. She looked around impatiently, her eyes flashing in a ray of the setting sun that filtered through the leaves of the canopy above her.

Alex could feel the heat in his body as he sat upon the top of a tree. He could very quickly determine the coldness of an empty soul. He opened his eyes after soaking up the sun's valiant rays. He looked down through the canopy, and saw Damani. Their last encounter was in Midgar, and it wasn't the best impressions they've ever had. He leaped down through the canopy, and landed nearby the half-robotic girl.
He stood back up, and stared at her. "Hello, Damani." He said casually and calmly. "Remember me? If not, this may spark a memory or two." He quickly turned into his Angel form, as he did for their first meeting. The light shone through the treetops above him, even though the leaves were the way of the direct light. [glow=white,2,300]"If you didn't before, now do you recall?"[/glow] His voice was pure and hopeful, and echoed throughout he area.

Damani sighed softly, stretching a bit. She growled when she heard someone approach and then relaxed and rolled her eyes when she saw it was the person from her first trip to Midgar. "I'm part computer, of course I remember you. You've in my permanent database since that day," she mumbled, turning away an looking around. She began to walk away but then stopped suddenly. "Hey, can you point out where there might be a path? I can't remember where it is, though I'm not sure how I can really even remember when I've never been here before now..."

Alex reverted back to normal. "What?" He questioned. "How do you not know the way out? You just said that you were a robot, or at least part of one. You said you... remember... alright, I understand now..." Alex felt kinda stupid. "Sorry. Anyway, would you follow me? I believe I know the way out." Alex began walking towards the right. He beckoned Damani to follow him while his back was turned. "Coming?"

Damani sighed. "Do you really understand?" she murmured, turning to follow after him. Aloud, and very sarcastically, she added: "No, I'm not, I just plan on standing here lost in the jungle forever and ever.
She put a hand on her hip and looked at him like he was stupid or something. Why wouldn't she follow him when she had asked him for directions in the first place?! She took a deep breath and tried to calm her temper, assuming she was either missing something or something like that. She wasn't very good at dealing with people, and this was exactly why. She took everything in such a literal sense.

Alex frowned as he could hear what her sarcastic remark was, but he decided to do nothing about it. He continued walking, ignoring her, for the most part. "So, I can guess you're not a people-person." Alex said, rather quietly. Suddenly, a sharp, seering pain formed in his right shoulder, and it quickly began to spread. He yelled out in pain, then soon after collapsed to his knees. It was like a huge dark fire had exploded inside of him.
He began changing darker, everything on him was being turned solid black. "What's... Happening... to... me!" He tried to hold it back, but it grew closer and closer to his head. If his head was controlled, there's no turning back. His glowed white, and the darkness recceded. He began breating heavily, as sweat slided down his face. He got back up and began walking again, holding his shoulder.
((OOC: This will all come up again later.))

Damani rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Good observation," she said, trailing behind him. She didn't like being to close to people at all. She backed up a few steps as he yelled out, slightly startled and suddenly alert to the danger. She pulled out her red-bladed katana as she watched the darkness slowly creep across his body. She had never seen anything like it before. Then all the sudden he was glowing and the darkness was gone, and he was up and walking again. (Was that an illusion? No, he definitely screamed, and he's still holding his shoulder... What the...) she thought to herself, letting her battle stance drop and cautiously following him. She waited for some sort of explanation or something that would make her less confused as she search through the computer half of her mind for any potential information.

Alex still had no idea what had just happened. He couldn't understand what the sudden surge of darkness was. He kept thinking to himself, How could it have gotten out? She's dead! He continued walking, stumbling sometimes, but still remaining under control, for the most part.
Then, he just sat down. "I'm sorry." He began. "I'm feeling very weak right now." He began to run a curative spell across his shoulder. It would take a few minutes to be back to normal, or his normal.

Damani stopped not far behind him, leaning up against a fallen tree and watching his attempt to heal his shoulder. She could offer no help; she had no materia because she very rarely ever got wounded. Blood flowed through her veins via a real heart; the heart that belonged to the original owner of the body, for her heart had thumped its last few beats over a year ago. She rarely ever had to worry about losing any of that blood though; she was far too quick and analyzing to be hit by just about anything. That was the nice thing about being inhuman.
She simply watched him though, never offering any help or asking any questions. She wasn't sure what to ask.

Alex smirked, looking down at his shoulder. "You definately are a quiet one." He said aloud. He didn't care if she heard him.
Eventually he looked up to her. "Do you have something against regular humans? Or me for that matter, because I'm no regular human." A surge of pain flowed in his arm, making him shudder slightly.
"This darkness usually doesn't surge like this. It's actually pretty rare. It only used to happen when my so-called sister was around, but I killed her long ago. Funny thing is, today's the exact year after I killed her." His smile shrunk away. "Maybe that's why this darkness is forming..." He continued his work on his arm.

"Hmph," she replied to his first comment. She was quiet; she often preferred action over words.
She looked at him as the words started to spill out of her mouth without reserve: "I'm... not good with people... at all. I never had people around me to be good with. I had Father, of course... and occasional scientists that he was a mentor of. But they rarely spoke to me. I was... something that broke every rule of nature they had ever known. They left me alone most of the time. I kept to my books because it's what suited me best. I'm... not very good with words either. They're awkward and often useless. I can spell and give the definition of almost every word in the dictionary... but when it comes to putting them in a sentence to try and express something, I stumble and I fail, or I end up getting angry and killing something or someone. I try to stay away from people... something in my head," she touched her temple with the palm of her hand as her head started to ache like it was being cued to do so, "something just makes me do it... It's not the computer though... it's that other part, the part that's real, living... my 'brain'..."
"I wasn't always like this... I was a human being once... Just over a year ago my mother was killed... My body was too damaged to sustain life anymore... so Father put my soul and part of my brain in a real body that was still living, though the person was basically dead," she pointed to her head again, tapping it lightly. "She was brain dead long ago... She was my older sister. Father kept her body because he didn't want to let her go so soon... He was glad that he did when he found my body next to Mother's, basically mutilated almost to the point of not being able to recognize me..."
(Shut up! Shut up!!! Dammit, Damani, shut the hell up! Why are you telling him this, why are you doing this?!) she mentally scolded herself. She wasn't sure what to say about his sister. Just him mentioning that it's been a year triggered the memory of her mother's death.

Alex continued healing himself. "So, it seems that your sister never had a chance to begin with." He understood that well. "My sister was quite diferent. She tried millions of times to end my life, for she was the only one who could have killed me. But, that all changed when I ended her, much like my prophecy had been fortold. She had only one life, but was far stronger than I. I had limitless lives, although I wasn't as strong. But, because I killed her before my 7000 years of Light weren't up, I had inheirited the darkness.
"Now I'm more of an Angel of Death rather than a Saviour. I house both Dark and Light powers. In all actuality, I'm more curious about the darkness, and every time it comes along, I try hard to better understand it and command it to appear as I command. I had mastered Angel form, along with Arc-Angel, and I command them when I wish. But, Darkness is a whole different playing field.
"Darkness only brings about pain and suffering, unlike Holy, which gradually heals me over time. That's why I usually go Angel right after Dark comes along; to heal myself fully from the usage of such demonic power. Unfortunately, I can't go Angel or Arc-Angel until about 10 minutes after I become Dark, so that's why I tend to heal myself as much as possible in the 10 minutes."
He chuckled slightly. "I'm sorry for blathering on. Basically, you can't judge every human by what has happened in your past. Forgive and forget. That should be a life-long motto that you should live by. I've been doing that for the past 3000 years. I've outlived everyone I've ever met..." Alex's mind wandered, and his smile had once again faded. "I've let so many people down..."
He shook the thoughts from his head. "Forgive and Forget... Anyway, basically, not all humans are like that anymore. After meteorfall here, people have wisened up, and also after the OMEGA insident. On Earth, however, people have been this way since the dawn of time. It continues today. Only, the science conducted is much safer to everyone, and no one thing is put into harm's way."

Damani nodded. "Darkness is a common commodity in my world... I spent the first few months of the life I can remember in darkness... stuck in a tank that kept me alive," she replied. "There's no person that is safe from darkness, no matter how hard they try. There are parts of my mind that are so full of darkness that half the time I'm not even mentally stable..."
She let out a bitter chuckle. "The first time you met me... you saw me at what we call Phase One of my insanity... there's three phases in all... the first one is just a bit of confusedness and anger accompanied by a minor headache. The second one is a bit more violent... people tend to start getting hurt around that point... The third one... well... that's when they get ready to push the self-destruct button back at the labs. They have a wire in my brain, even the organic part, that lets them know if it ever gets that far," she said, looking up at the canopy. She couldn't figure out why it was so easy to talk to him. She would make sure to hurt herself a little extra later on when she was alone to remind herself exactly why she didn't run her mouth like this. "It's never gotten that far, but Father predicts that it'll happen within the next few years... He says that he doesn't think I'll live much longer... my brain... it rejects the computer parts of me. It shows me weird pictures, memories that aren't mine. I couldn't tell you if my organic brain is whole or not, or how it interferes with the data-processing part of my computer, but it does... and for some reason I can't control myself when it does."

Alex was continueing to heal himself, but he still listened to Damani and her life. "So, which are you on now? Are you almost on the Second Phase now?" He looked to her. "And, how does one consider being mentally unstable?"
Alex had just finished his healing. He stood up, flexed his arm, and looked to Damani. "It sounds like it sucks to be part computer, if you ask me. But, you didn't, so it's only my opinion. Anyway, I'm all set, so if you'd like, we can continue." He began walking down the path, hoping that Damani followed.
He began walking a little ways, when he suddenly stopped in place, his eyes widened. His slow breathing turned into gasping hyperventalation. The Darkness from before was spawning once more. It had started from his head this time. The Darkness quickly spread from his head to the rest of his body, but he managed to keep control over himself for a little while.
"Damani!" He yelled. "Go along the main path! There should be a dark door-like exit at the end of the path. Don't be afraid to go out of it, for it IS the exit outta here. Don't stop, and save yourself! I'll have to stay and fight the Darkness here and now: It's the strongest I've ever been through, and maybe now I can tame it! GO!"
The Dark surges began to increase in force. He yelled in pain slightly, and soon a form of darkness appeared from him, and began to fight Alex. The enitity itself was no more than a living Shadow, but only those of Holy magic could fight it. The Shade was far more powerful than Alex, just like his sister before. He then very quickly got into a blade-lock with it, and began to hold it off right there so Damani could get away.

Damani sighed softly, pushing off from the tree and beginning to follow him. (It has its' benefits though... My speed, my strength, my analyzing skills... How would I survive without them? It's simple, I couldn't. In the end, it's pure instinct to use them. I guess I'm just the fighting type. But is that really me, or the computer part of me?) she thought to herself. (But what Phase am I in? Neutral Phase? Do I ever actually go out of any of my phases or does the computer just take over everything long enough to make me think I'm not in a phase? Must ask Father next time I talk to him...)
::::: "Damani! Go along the main path! There should be a dark door-like exit at the end of the path. Don't be afraid to go out of it, for it IS the exit outta here. Don't stop, and save yourself! I'll have to stay and fight the Darkness here and now: It's the strongest I've ever been through, and maybe now I can tame it! GO!" :::::
Damani was startled out of her reverie, looking up at Alex in slight shock. It took her a minute to analyze everything. She could sense the danger, but something in her mind suddenly took over and told her the danger was nothing; she had to help this man, no matter what. (What? Why? He isn't my responsibility! I don't even know him!! I don't want to know him!) she thought to herself, clutching her head as a migraine started to take over her senses.
Another voice popped up in her head: (It doesn't matter whether you know him or not, love... The fact remains that he can't do this by himself. I know, I've seen this before,) the voice, softer and at a higher pitch than Damani's deeper monotone voice. (You can't just leave him like this.)
"Screw... you..." she muttered, falling on one knee. "Get out of my head! Who the hell are you... ?"
(I'm the part of you that's rational... that doesn't count on a computer to live, though a certain silver-haired man that I can think of would be a nice to see now. But that's a different story... I have magic. You don't know it, but we have to use it before the computer takes back over and silences me,) the voice replied patiently. A light shone before Damani's, and she was pretty sure she was the only one who can see it. It was powerful magic, magic like she had never used before. A surge of light spread out from her body like a shockwave from an atom bomb. Damani fell over as all of the energy was released from her body and out into the world and her world was black suddenly.
