The cool calm waves of Costa Del Sol invaded the powdery sand and dragging it back into the depths of the ocean with it. The waves crashed against a figure angrily trying to pull it back into the depths that had spit him out onto solid ground.
Slowly, the light sky-blue eyes of the figure fluttered open, being greeted by an identical shade off blue, littered with puffy white masses floating by gently, minding their own business.
The moist ground around him made a small shiver trail down his spine. He closed his eyes a moment, trying to rethink the last thing that had happened. A mere flashback was all he received. A vision of being shot down after his against countless armed men, the flashing light from their guns almost blinding. His eyes shot open, as his hands scrambled to feel the ground around him.
It wasn't the same place he had remembered but the soggy feeling off the wet sand made his heart race. He felt as though he was swimming in a pool of his own blood. His hands fumbled around eagerly on his chest, trying to find the holes that had riddled his body. Nothing.
His body shot up, his eyes tracing every part of his being, searching for the reason of his death. Still he had found nothing. Not a single scratch remained from his last and final battle. He forced his body to stand, his legs shaking and wanting to give in as he force them to straighten out. Every part of his body ached, as though he had been laying on the beach for days.
Finally taking in the view, Zack realized where he was. On the sunny beach of Costa Del Sol, further away from the main beach where the tourists played happily in the salty waters. Slowly but surely he made his way towards the main beach, back to the real world.
Somehow, he had made it back. Back from the brink of death. Back from somewhere no one should have ever been able to return from. His mind began to wander from thought to thought, from person to person. To every thing he had come in contact with before his demise. His eyes skimmed over the scene eagerly, searching for some sort of familiar face, hoping someone he knew would be around, hoping to try and explain the unexplainable.
((Lol. I didn't know how to start so I just kinda made something up.. :/ ))

Estel left the hotel and headed down to the beach, surfboard in hand. After descending the steps he saw a figure passing him, but walked past without a second glance. It wasn't until a few moments later that his brain kicked in and he realised he knew that figure. Dropping the surfboard he spun round and sprinted back to the figure, it was impossible, he couldn't be alive, Shin-RA had declared him KIA. Moments later Estel caught up to the figure, it really was him. "Zack, you look like hell. What happened to you? Where have you been all these years?" Estel started, but it was obvious that Zack was tired, he even looked confused, and, possibly a little scared. "Is everything alright Zack?" Estel couldn't believe it, he had only been a 3rd rank, but everyone had been talking about this man when he arrived, and here he was, right in front of him. "Come on, the hotel is this way, it looks like you could do with a rest."

Gloved fingers gently massaged his temples, trying desperately to think of what on earth could've brought him back from the depths of death. Zack's eyes gave the area another glance. Maybe this was a death experience, and he was just seeing all of this.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Zack continued to walk, trudging through the sandy floor heading for the main road. As he went on his way he received numerous odd glances, as though people had seen a ghost.
The dark haired Ex-SOLDIER perked up slightly as he heard his name being called. He quickly turned around, almost desperate to see who it was. While being bombarded with questions, Zack gently rested a hand on Estel's shoulder, giving himself a little support. His legs still felt like Jell-O.
A smile forced it way onto his face, a look of relief spreading across his features. A small chuckle escaped his throat. "Woah! Not so fast there, bud!" He gave Estel's shoulder a good pat. Zack took a good look at Estel's face, trying to figure out the identity on his own. He had, before his death, tried to learn everyone's name. "You're name is... Estel, right?!" He asked, his voice sounding excited, as though he were playing on a trivia show and just about to win thousands of Gil.
"Well.. Starting from question one.. What happened, I was used as a guinea pig for... a while, then shot to death after escaping, then somehow.. being back here!" He gave a light shrug. "But everything is ok, I guess.." He replied casually. "Other than the the whole, 'How the hell did this happen' thing. It has me a bit confused. Well, ok, REALLY confused!"
His smile widened at the sound of rest. His body had been screaming at him to stop ever since he had woken up on the beach. "Rest sounds nice..Thanks."

Though it was the end of Shin-RA and SOLDIER, Estel couldn't help but feel a small amount of pride when Zack knew his name. As Zack told his story, Estel's eyes had widened, he had no idea Shin-RA were capable of something like that.
"Well, We'll get you back to the hotel and let you sleep for a while, then I'll fill you in on what's been going on, You're not gonna believe a lot of it. Fall of Shin-RA, Ex-Shin-RA grunt Cloud Strife defeating Sephiroth, and the very near end of the world. But more on that later." Estel started as they made their way back to the hotel. After passing through the door he took zack to his room and put him down on the bed.
"Ok, you rest here, I'll still be here when you wake up"

Zack perked up slightly as he heard Cloud's name. "Cloud, huh? How's he doing?!" His voice filled with excitement. He had remembered how Cloud had been after they had escaped from Hojo and his mad experiments, how they had been together until they were met by all of forces.
"What happened to Prof. Hojo?" He asked, his voice retreating back into a more serious tone. How he'd love to give that crazed man a good punch to the face! "Oooh! How about Cissnei?!" His thoughts had drifted from one subject to another. She had helped him escape, despite her mission. "How's she?!"
His mind wandered eslewhere again.. What had happened to Aerith? The sweet girl he had met in Midgar? He had never gotten to see her again... Well, alive anyways. They had reunited in the Lifestream and since he had come back, why not her too?
Zack's eyes drifted to the bed, his drowsiness finally catching up with him. "Ah.. A bed!" He sighed with delight, letting his body fall limply onto the soft mattress not even bothering with covers. "I wont.. sleep.. too lo-..." His sentence was cut short by the sound of his light snoring.

Estel kept a cheery face as Zack asked questiond, deflecting them and insisting he needed his rest. It didn't take long before Zack was out like a light, sighing and shaking his head at the SOLDIERS child like behaviour he got up and changed from his beach wear back to his normal gear, Yami-Ashi-Ato resting on the wall nearby. Zack would want answers after this, and then after that, most likely head to Edge. Estel made himself a quick lunch and went into the next room to watch some T.V

Zack sleep went on peacefully for a few hours, his light snoring accompanied by a slight grin still stuck to his lips. Slowly his smile faded away and began to melt his whole face into a picture of agony.
-An endless ocean of Shinra forces, an ambush squad, staring down at one man. A first class SOLDIER, spiky black hair and his hands gripping a giant blade, ready for combat despite the outrageous odds against him. Fighting wave upon wave, struggling to stay alive. Finally becoming battered and bloody that he could hardly stand. Three armed men, slowly advancing towards him, riddling his body with bullets, feeling the pain of each one piercing his skin before falling onto the ground, trying desperately to breath and watching one man step forward to deliver one last blow.-
Just as the last shot had been taken, Zack shot up in his bed, sweat trickling light down the side of his face. It had all seemed so real, as though, he had just relived that day. He patted his chest with his hands, only to assure himself it had only been a horrible dream.
A wave of relief washed over him as he let his body fall back onto the bed, a heavy sigh escaping his throat. At least it had only been a rude reminder and not the real thing. He forced himself back out of bed and walked quietly into the next room, assuming Estel had gone in there since the TV had been turned on.
"Mornin' Estel!" Zack called, waving slightly before beginning his routine squats. "Whatchya watchin'?" He asked, as he watched the screen move up and down in his vision, not being able to get a clear view.

"Mornin Zack" Estel called back, returning the wave. "Nothing much, just the morning cartoons." Estel glanced at Zack, despite the cherry tone of voice he could tell something had rattled him, the sweat on his brow and the distant look in his eyes as he squatted. "Sleep well?"

"Cartoons, eh?" He echoed, his glance gazing off into the bright glowing screen, watching the pictures as they danced about the glass. His thoughts strayed momentarily until Estel's voice broke through his unconscious train of thought. His bright sky blue eyes drifted back to him, his lips cracking a faint smile.
"Oh.. uh.. Ya. It was ... Ok, I guess." He replied, his squatting slowing to a stop, a gloved hand reaching behind his head to ruffle his own hair. "Well, at least it STARTED out good!" He quickly admitted, a slight chuckle escaping his throat. "It's nothing, really. Just.. A really, BAD dream." He shrugged it off lightly, guessing going into detail about this REALLY BAD nightmare probably wasn't the most pleasant thing to talk about.
"Its all over now though, right?" Zack flashed Estel a friendly smile before returning to the remainder of his squats.
"So... I never did... Get any answers... for those questions... I asked you... earlier." He said in between squats. He stopped abruptly for a moment. "So.. Fill me in! I wanna know what's been going on for all this time!" His voice sounded excited, like a small child waiting for his mother to start a bedtime story, becoming more and more anxious by the minute. "And don't leave out any of the good parts!"

Estel turned off the tv and sat to face Zack, wondering where to begin, he decided to start from the first bombing of AVALANCE in sector 1, to the return of Sephiroth and then Meteor, how Cloud Strife had defeated him. From there he went on to explain about the geostigma virus and how Sephiroth had nearly returned to power once more. It took him a few hours, and Zack seemed to focus all his attention.
"And that's pretty much it to present day. Sorry I couldn't fill you in on this Aeris bird, I've never even heard of her"
Estel decided to go to the kitchen and pour them both a drink, letting Zack take a few moments to absorb what had happened.
