Damani Fayth stood, at 5'6" in the middle of the half-destroyed street, staring around at the pile of junk that had once been Midgar. Something had lead her to this place, though she had no idea what. Of course, the fact that this was the closest destination from the labs just over the mountain was one reason, but of course that was no decent excuse; three days of hiking in the mountains wasn't exactly her happy place, not that she had one.
Something in her mind tugged her into coming to this place, though she didn't know why. She just listened to the part organ-part computer she had for a brain and traveled all the way here. She was convinced that the only reason the scientist that was her father let her leave home for that reason; to follow her mind and her heart.
She only knew the name Midgar from the lessons she had received back in the labs on major places and events in the world. She never thought she would have the chance to come here herself and assess the damage herself. Now she knew what type of damage powerful magic could cause, though she never used magic anyways. Why bother when she didn't need too? She had enough speed and strength to make it on her own, and she rarely tired due to being mostly mechanical and only partially human-like.
"What's here that's so important?" she wondered aloud, a flash of memory returning to as she asked.
~~~~~~~~ A blue-haired girl stood in the exact same spot as Damani was standing now, staring up at the sky with teary eyes as multiple monsters moved toward her in attempt to have adecent meal. ~~~~~~~~
Damani collapsed onto her knees, her head in her hands, cringing as pain took over her sense. "What the hell is this?!" she shouted to no one and nothing.
"Hey! Quiet down!" Alex yelled. "Some people are trying to relax, you know!" He noticed that the girl had been crying, and he walked over to her. Alex knelt down. He asked, "What's wrong?" She was too busy crying at the time, so he stood back up. "Hey, if it's what I just said, I'm sorry." He offered a hand up, and he noticed that the sun was right behind him, so, as Alex had remembered from things people had told him, he looked like the angel he was. The wings shown behind him was a sign of hope that God had made for Alex's "good guy" appearence. Great, now this is gonna attract attention to me. He thought.
Damani growled at the person intruding on her weak moment. She stood up by herself, locking her eyes on his for a minute before pulling out her red-bladed katana, which had no name. Naming things was useless in her opinion. Like people, all objects of the same type were too similar to bother categorizing. Unfortunately her computer of a brain categorized everything for her, not that she cared. "Who the hell are you?" she said, going into her automatic battle stance.
She was not the friendliest person to meet, especially in this situation, if her current stance was any indication to that fact. Mostly, because she was angry someone saw her at her weak moment. There were no tears on her face; she wasn't even sure she had the ability to cry, but she was still upset in a way. The pain in her head subsided at the potential danger. "State your name and purpose," she ordered in a more robotic, emotionaless voice, even though she really hadn't given him a chance to answer in the first place.
Alex took aback from the harsh statement. "Wow," He finally said after a few minutes of silence. "You must not be a people person. You're insensitive and insecure. More importantly, you're CRAZY!" He backed away slightly, then he realized that the person had a weapon out. He smilled and pulled out Guardian Angel and Balmung, his blades. "I'm not one to brag, but, I'm Alex, an Angel sent by God to rid the world of evil. You're not exactly what I was planning on, but you'll do." He readied for a quick battle.
"Hmph," Damani rolled her eyes and put her sword back. She had the emotional range of a piece of string. How could this 'angel' expect her to feel something such as empathy? "Well then this 'God' thing you speak of must not understand the ways of humans. Is it a computer, or some type of sentient being? I have never heard of it. Father only taught me technology and science, and things he thought would be of use to me in my journey. Evil is nothing more than the corruption of data in a human's brain. Corruption caused by others is the breed of all evil. To end it, you must wipe all but those that are children or not truly living, and those are the beings that could never survive in such an empty world."
She crossed her arms. She never truly comprehended the difference between good and evil. "Also, for your information, to be a people person, or to be sensitive to anything, you first must be a person. Computers do not have feelings. What this 'insecure' thing is that you speak of, I am not sure. My personal databank is very secure and can only be hacked into if I am connected to a device that is insecure. As for being 'crazy' my databank infers that the word means that I'm mentally unstable, which is not true. I may not have a personality of sorts, but I am fully aware of my surroundings."
((OOC- Sorry, I don't have much time right now, so I'm gonna make this short. it's going good in this post, btw.))
Alex put his weapons away. He looked at the girl carefully, and realized something wasn't right. She was almost litereally part machine! "If you are what you say, and by what you mean that computers have no feelings, why were you crying earlier?"
Damani hmphed again and leaned up against a nearby metal beam that half stuck out of the ground. "I wasn't crying. I was in pain. The processing of the human half of my brain interferred with my computer's processing functions and caused minor pain and confusion. It is something I have always suffered from and nothing that can be controlled," she replied staring at her perfectly spotless nails. Painting them was a waste of precious time, in her opinion, something she liked to conserve if at all possible. "Unfortunately, most of my nerves still function correctly, though I'm made of parts of two different bodies and some machines. Half of my brain was once a humans, my own before my original body was destroyed and my soul transferred into this rebuilt body. Father salvaged whatever he could of my brain, heart and other organs. This body was already technically dead as well, souless at the least, but all it took was a little reconstruction, a heart and brain transplant, as well as a soul transplant, and I became what I am today. I have no memories of my human life, only what Father taught me; that my mother, Destiny Fayth, died to save me, but my body was fatally damaged in the process. Father wanted to save me, but unfortunately couldn't save my mother."
"Forgive me my rudeness, I am Damani Fayth; half-human, half-computer. Some of my limbs are also made of metal, such as my left arm. My body heat is not retained by my body because of the fact that my brain and heart barely function as it is, the little blood in my body is circulated through a pump that simulates most of my heart..." she had no idea why she was babbling off all of her system specifics.
