Mako colored eyes looked down at the ground, holding what seemed to be sadness in them. It was very uncharacteristic of Kadaj to show any emotion besides...well, anger. But no, he was sad. Kadaj lifted his head up to look at the dead/dying city of Midgar. No, he could care less about the city and the people in it- all he had ever cared about was Mother. And she hadn't cared about him at all. The realization of it had hit him like a ton of bricks...she only cared about Sephiroth.
'Mother...I did everything you asked... He told her in his mind, feeling his heart breaking. Many would assume that Kadaj- the Remnant of Sephiroth - didn't have a heart. Oh, but he did. And it was wounded now that all he had ever wanted -his Mother's love- had been denied from him.
He didn't have the strength to fight anymore. He didn't want to- where was the motivation? Gone, along with his hopes. Kadaj continued to walk through the seemingly deserted streets of Midgar aimlessly- trying to seem as emotionless as possible. But it was hard to do that when all you wanted to do was break down and cry. However, Kadaj refused to seem weak to the rest of the world.

Midgar. She seemed to be spending more time here than any where else nowadays. This place was very depressing to be in, it was ruins, nothing more than a dieing once proud city. Calamity had only just entered the dead city and already its atmosphere was getting to her. The only reason I come here is for the training, it’s good for balance and the likes. Calamity looked up at the sky, it seemed so miserable. A quiet sigh left her lips as she progressed into the city, her sais still hung at her hips, hidden by her ankle length coat.
“I wonder where Kai is, I was just getting used to his company.” Another sigh left her lips, she hated to be alone. Her feet stopped moving before her brain had time to catch up. She wasn’t alone. She observed the person, their silver hair caught her attention. It was pretty cool, her own black and blue hair hung loosely around her shoulders. Calamity slowly walked towards him. “Hello there,” she said politely.
Her cerulean eyes seemed to gleam as she looked over at him, her sweet smile played on her lips. “I’m Calamity Valentine, who are you?” her smile still held it’s place on her lips. Running her delicate fingers through her hair as she took in his appearance, she thought the leather outfit was cool but not as cool as his hair.

Kadaj heard another voice, stopping in his tracks. He immediately turned to look at the person who had greeted him so kindly, looking almost confused. The Remnant had good reason to, too. No one was ever nice to him- not thathe had ever given a reason for someone to show him the least bit of kindness. Heck, he had tried to destroy this city, himself.
As the woman introduced herself with a smile on her face, Kadaj was silent at first. She seemed harmless enough- he doubted she was playing some sort of trick on him. The woman probably had no idea who he was- otherwise she wouldn't have acted so kindly to him or thought he was 'cool'. Kadaj nodded a little in greeting.
"I'm Kadaj." He replied, hesitantly holding out a hand to shake. The boy wasn't quite used to being "polite" to others. Before he had found out that his "Mother" didn't even care about him he probably would have killed or at least completely ignored someone who approached him like this. It was...nice to do something on his own for once.

A pleasant smile remained on her lips as she looked at the silver haired young man. The confused look upon his face summoned one to her own. Has no-one spoken to him before or something? This wasn’t the first time she’d had this reaction when she’d spoken to someone, she still remembered the reaction Kaibatsu had had when she’d spoken to him. This however didn’t phase her and she continued to smile sweetly at him.
Calamity bowed her head as he said his name. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Kadaj,” she accepted his offered hand with her own delicate one. Her black-ish blue hair fell in front of her right eye as she bowed her head slightly. For the first time Calamity looked into his eyes, stunned by how beautiful they were. A pale blush covered her cheeks, her eyes shifted to her feet as they brushed against the ground.
“Forgive me for asking but what are you doing here alone? Most only come out here if there are wishing to hide from society?” she commented softly, still smiling at him, without thinking she took a step forward and raised a hand to his hair, gently running her fingers through his hair. “You have amazing hair.”

"Yes...it is...nice to meet you, Calamity." He answered, a bit unsure of himself. Kadaj felt very awkward, trying to seem at least a little polite. There was something new for everyone and a first time for everything.
Kadaj noticed that her own hair color was a little similar to his as it fell in front of her face. She seemed to be very polite, which made him slightly uncomfortable. As she looked into his eyes, he noticed her own eyes. A pair of beautifull deep grey and blue speckled eyes...normal eyes. They were much different then his own, which could seem animalistic and predatory at times. He noticed a faint blush on her cheeks and felt comfused once more. Was she falling ill? Obviously, Kadaj did not know of such things as feeling "shy" or "embarassed".
"That's precisely why I'm here." He said, plainly. "I am...ashamed of myself." Kadaj added, a bit more quietly, looking away. That was, until he felt her hand running through his hair. At first he flinched- not used to anyone being this close to him unless in combat, but then she commented on his hair. For the first time he felt his face becoming warm with a blush, too- though as to why he didn't know. "Th...thank you."

The uncertainty was clear in his voice but this was also something that the young woman was used to, being memory-less pretty much. When ever someone who’d previously met her was often met with a confused glance from her who was pretty confused about who was speaking to her on more than one occasion.
Her cerulean eyes shifted from his face, glancing at the dull sky above her, she was starting to think that this place was always dull or if not it was just because she was there and if this was indeed the way of things she would be most upset. Recently Calamity had spent a lot of time in Costa Del Sol, the rain wasn’t at all pleasant. Calamity looked at Kadaj once more, he was younger than she was, that much she could tell from merely glancing at him though not that much younger, a few years tops. He was however, very handsome. His eyes were beautiful no matter what anyone else thought and his hair was amazing, she apparently had a thing for his hair.
Calamity shook her head, “What could you possibly have to be ashamed of?” She knew that everyone had something to hide, she did. She’d killed her father after all, she should be ashamed but she wasn’t, she refused to be. “Your very welcome,” she smiled at him in her enchanting way before kissing his cheek gently before giggling. “Will you walk with me?”

"I have dissapointed Mother." Kadaj spoke, almost as if he were a scolded child. The way he spoke about his "Mother" was enough to make anyone curious. He still treated the name as if itself was something to be honored- as he still hoped Mother would forgive him for dissapointing her and give him a chance to prove that he was better than Sephiroth. Unfortunetly for Kadaj, Jenova would never give him that chance- he would never be better than Sephiroth in her eyes.
When Calamity smiled at him, he tried to smile back. The only smile he had really ever given before had been a smirk. But then she did something else that was unexpected. She gave him a kiss on the cheek. His faint blush grew a little more evident as he grew a little more embarassed. "Sure..." Kadaj answered as Calamity asked him to walk with her. Walk? What was the point of that. Still, by hanging around this girl he was experiencing new things -let alone emotions- and he wanted to experience more.

Calamity looked at him with sad eyes, she didn’t know if she’d ever disappointed her mother, it came from not knowing her mother. “I’m sure she’ll forgive you,” she smiled at him despite the sad look in her eyes, “Whatever you did can’t be that bad.” Calamity crossed her arms over her abdomen so that her right elbow was resting on her left hand so that her head could rest on her right hand. She noted that the sky appeared darker than it had in a few minutes before. “You have very interesting eyes, they are the same colour as mako, their enchanting,” she whispered.
Her usual open hearted smile crossed her lips at the crimson on his pale cheeks, he looked very cute like that. Calamity smiled brightly as he agreed to walk with her. A gentle breeze blew her unique coloured hair away from her face and over her shoulder. “Tell me about yourself Kadaj,” Calamity thought his name sounded familiar to her but she wasn’t sure where from, maybe she’d heard it before she’d lost her met.
“This place feels more depressing every time I come here,” she said softly. Judging by his looks he’s a very unique person, I’d love to get to know him better.

Oh, but what Kadaj did he seen as a sin. Mother wasn't just that to Kadaj and his brothers- she was someone to be worshipped and praised, not just some woman responsible for their creation. Jenova was like a god to the Remnants. He let out a small sigh, seeing as Calamity wouldn't understand unless he explained himself- which he didn't want to do. Still, he seemed to keep a sad look in his mako colored eyes. Which Calamity had just remarked about. No one he had ever met would call his eyes enchanting. Usually terrifying and frightening would be the more accurate word. "...Thank you." He merely said, looking less depressed and more confused. It was obvious Kadaj was not used to recieving compliments.
The slight breeze blew his hair in his eyes as Calamity asked him to tell more about himself. She wouldn't like it one bit but Kadaj complied. "Well, I'm a...Remnant." He said bitterly- as if he hated the word itself. "I'm a part of Sephiroth. I am a son of Jenova." Despite the fact that he hated being compared to Sephiroth, he sounded very proud to say that he was a son of Jenova- something no one in their right mind would be proud of normally.
"I know the feeling." Kadaj replied, looking up at the darkening sky. "What about you?" He asked Calamity, also wanting to know more about her. She was unlike anyone he had ever met before. [/sub]

For a moment Calamity looked over at Kadaj, knowing full well that he was thinking of something that obviously brought him a great deal of pain sort of like when she thought about her past, of the fact that she was her father’s killer. She looked back at him, catching his confused look. “Your very welcome,” she smiled sweetly at him as she clasped her hands in front of her. “Your eyes are unique, I would of thought a lot of people would have commented on that.” Her cerulean eyes flickered slightly in the way that they did when she was about to regain a memory but nothing was coming to her. I swear to all that causes pain if I get nothing but pain from this then I’m to slam my head off a very hard and thick stone. she thought to herself. Calamity looked down, the gentle throbbing in her head slowly faded to nothing, giving her a false sense of safety.
She tilted her head to the right, A Remnant? She didn’t understand what he meant by that. How could someone be a Remnant? She heard him say Sephiroth. The pain suddenly returned to her head, forcing her to raise her hand to her head. Pain coursed through her entire body. Her entire body trembled with the pain.
*Flashback*
“Calamity focus! Your not going to get any better like this! You’ll never make SOLDIER!”
The ten year old girl before the man could barely stand she was that weak. Calamity shook her head. “Father…I can’t do this! I’ll never do it!” A strong back hand to her face silenced her, blood dripped from the 10 year olds lip and tears formed in her eyes. “Forgive me father….”
“Get this right!”
*Flashback end*
Tears formed in her eyes but she blinked them back, now wasn’t the time. Her father had handed her over to the Turks because he knew that she’d never be part of SOLDIER.. A sigh left her lips as she shook these thoughts and the pain from her body.
For a moment she looked down, thinking over her words carefully. “There really isn’t much I can tell you about me, there’s some things that not even I know about myself,” she whispered. She continued to think over her next words, she honestly didn’t know what to say. “I lost my memory and I’m still recovering it, I was once a Turk but there isn’t much more I can tell you. I’m an orphan who was born in Costa Del Sol, I lost my mother when I was a teenager and my father…Was killed shortly after…” She sighed then smiled. “My favourite colour it blue and black and these little beauties,” she drew her sais, twirling them through her fingers, “are my weapon of choice and my first love.” She smiled to herself as she put them away. “My only loves, until recently I never had any friends."

As Calamity raised her hand to her head he knew that there was something wrong. She was feeling pain of some sort- but from what? A headache? He could see her body shaking from the pain of the strange event, but Kadaj merely stood there observing- not knowing what else to do. After a moment or two, he found words to speak up instead of standing there like an idiot. "Are...you allright?" He asked, seeing that she looked as if she was about to cry. It reminded him of himself- how he had always blinked back those oncoming tears.
Kadaj wondered what she meant for only a moment before she explained that she had lost her memory and was still recovering it. That explained what she meant by not knowing things about herself. As she mentioned she had been a Turk his eyes narrowed- a slight glare coming from him. He hated ShinRa and all who worked for him. At least she was a former Turk. He hated ShinRa for taunting him and fooling him.
'A good son would have known.'
He tossed the thoughts away- not wanting to remember that struggle between him, his brothers, and all of Cloud's allies at the moment. As she said that she had lost her parents, Kadaj nodded a little. "I'm sorry for your loss." He said rather emotionlessly. "I've never had a father. But Mother has always been with me...at least until now." He looked down at her sais until she put them away again. "I've never had friends, either. I've never seen them as important."

Calamity calmed her breathing then glanced at him and nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine, really. Regaining my memory hurts a lot, no-one really knows why but one theory is that during my time with the Turks or during my training I was injected with JENOVA cells, I don’t remember any of my training so I can’t be sure,” she shrugged slightly. Calamity felt something pushing its way to the front of her mind. Words, something she’d been told. “Kadaj…you had two brothers, Yazoo and Loz, the Remnants of Sephiroth and the sons of JENOVA… You attacked Reno and Rude…” She shook her head. “I don’t blame you for trying to find her…JENOVA I mean, I would have done the same. I’m pretty sure I’ve attacked Reno on more than one occasion.”
“Something turned my against the Turks I don’t know what but someday I will…” She glanced at him and noticed the glare that she was receiving from him. Calamity looked down at her feet, she could tell from the glares that he didn’t like the Turks but this didn’t seem odd, she’d met very few who did actually like the Turks or ShinRa nowadays. “Kadaj…Why don’t you like ShinRa?” she asked softly, she was curious about the young man. He sparked her infinite interest, she hadn’t been this interested in anyone in quite a while.
A soft laugh left her lips. “Don’t be, my father was the one who deprived me of a mother and it was myself who deprived myself of a father, he used to abuse me for not being what he wanted me to be,” she said simply before glancing back at him. “Well you have me now,” Calamity smiled brightly at him. “Friends help us when mo-one else can, I value my few friends and I would hope that they feel that way about me,” Calamity smiled as she looked down at her hands.

"Jenova cells?" Kadaj asked becoming curious again. "If that's true then you would be my sister." He said with a small smile. Anyone who carried Jenova cells in their body he considered a brother or sister. As she started to talk about him and his brothers the smile faded. Where were his brothers? "Yes...I had to find her. I wanted to do anything to make her happy." He said, sounded strangely child-like.
"I hate ShinRa. He hid Mother from me and then accused me of not being a good son!" Kadaj almost shouted, though definetly had raised his voice. "But I am a good son...M-mother should be proud of me..." He quieted down, though it seemed he was talking more to himself, now. He looked down at his own feet, as Calamity had done. "No. She's not proud of me...she hates me...she loves Sephiroth..." Kadaj said, barely above a whisper. Suddenly, the dam broke. All the emotions he had been bottling up were coming out and tears slid down the Remnant's face- though he was trying to wipe them away.
He looked back up at her when she talked about 'friends'. Pshh, he didn't need any friends. His brothers were all he needed. But maybe that was the reason Calamity smiled so much...why she was so friendly and happy despite her horrid past. The fact that she had lost her memory helped a little too, but still... Maybe friends weren't such a bad thing to have.

Calamity nodded, resting her arm over her abdomen. “Yes, that was one theory but I don’t know how to test it.” For a moment she looked at the sky, her heart had slowed down to its normal pace, there was something about reclaiming a memory that sent her heart into a frenzy. Calamity glanced at him, she’d always been an only child. She knew that she had no siblings. She noticed the tone of his voice and looked quizzically at him. “All you wanted was to make her happy?” she closed her eyes, is that the way she’d felt about her mother? She couldn’t remember… “My mother was beautiful and caring, I don’t even know if we got along…”
The shock of his raised voice made her flinch back, raised voices always made her flinch, she guessed that was because of her fathers treatment of her. Her eyes saddened, his spirit had been dampened so dramatically that it saddened her also. She stepped closer to him, gently taking his hand that was wiping away the tears then embracing him in a heart felt hug. “Hush, it’s all right, just let it all out,” she whispered. “I know I’m not your mother and my opinion won’t hold as much weight as hers but…I don’t hate you and I don’t think that you deserved to be hated, if you did wouldn’t you have done something to make me hate you by now?” she asked. She smiled at him. “I care about you Kadaj and as long as someone cares about you there is someone that will be proud of you. Remember that.”
“Come on, despite how desolate this place it is it is still quite the sight.” Calamity smiled at him, making a gentle hand gesture at him to follow her. Calamity looked at the sky once more, sighing quietly before she looked over at Kadaj. Something about the way he looked after he cried just made her feel sympathetic towards him. Something yelled at her to befriend him and be there for him. That was what she wanted. To be there for him.

Kadaj wondered if all mothers were supposed to be beautifull and caring or if they were supposed to be like his own- picking favorites of their children. No, something in his heart told him that wasn't what real mothers did. They were supposed to love all their children equally and care about what happened to all of them. But Kadaj had never had someone who truly cared about him before. Once he felt Calamity give him a warm hug, he looked shocked.
Still, he felt...comfortable in the hug. And Calamity's words comforted him even more. There was someone who cared about him- and only him. Hesitantly, he hugged the woman back gently, the tears soon going away. "I...I care about you, too, Calamity." He said quietly, barely audible.
Kadaj nodded a little, following after her. "So many memories in this place..." He muttered. None of them were that pleasant. He wanted a friend, too. And Calamity was that friend that would be there for him.
((Sorry it was so short. Dx)) [/sub]
