Zellie walked through the door into her old bedroom, her bright eyes scanning the room, noticing everything was as she left it, just a wooden table, a dresser and a bookcase now covered in a thick layer of dust. With a sigh she walked toward the center of the room to her childhood bed, she quickly dusted it off and quietly laid down in the center.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, hearing only for a moment, the familiar sounds of cars, crowds of people, and the occasional gunshot. Upon reopening her eyes she frowned, greeted only by silence in this shadow of Midgar's former self.
"I don't even remember why I came back......I don't have any jobs, no monsters around to hunt, and I haven't found a single thing of value in the wreckage." she remarked with a sigh, "I need some sort of lead....something interesting....something...adventurous.." She said after switching the song on her mp3 player to some orchestral music and drifting into a deep sleep.

"God damn it!"
Rain ducked for cover under another wreckage as the bullets flew past him. After a quick glance behind it he stood up and ran again, this time fleeing around a corner as the new wave of shots just missed.
Talking about being over protective!
Looking around the alley he was in now, Rain knew he had to do something fast. Keep running wasn't a solution, as he couldn't get to the other side of the alley before his hunters would appear once more on the other end. Climbing on either side of the building wasn't an option as well, since there was no where to hide before it would be too late. What will he do now? Rain was almost ready to give up on hope, but then…
The three Shinra guards kept running after their prey, two of them cursing as they failed to hit their target. The man was unarmed, apparently, and was at a clear disadvantage. It was only be a matter of time till they catch him, and make him pay. Again someone cursed as the bullets missed by a mere inches and the target has run off around a corner into an alley. "This one's over", one of them said braggingly, as the three men chase their man to the alley. All of them halted as one as they got to its entrance. No one was there. They could see to the other side of the narrow alleyway to the next street. It was as if he had vanished. "How did he get to the other side so quickly?!", one of them yelled, as another spat on the ground. The three looked around for a few moments more while holding their positions, before one declared, "Alright, we're done here. Let's go".
Two of them already turned around and retraced their steps, as the other let out a roar of rage and kicked a nearby stone… Which seemingly hit the thin air and fell down. "What the…?!". The guard took off to where the stone lay, only to find that something's blocking his path…
Rain was already a few blocks away, but he could hear the guard's shout- "A painting?!". A smirk appeared on his face. Luckily enough, the guard weren't the best of brains there were, and couldn't tell between the street on the other end to a painting of one. And to think Rain himself mocked the bagger who gave him that ridiculously over-sized work of art of a deserted street, which turned to be quite real looking, as a sign of gratitude. Walking slowly, his arms crossed behind his head, enjoying his little triumph, Rain pondered what he should do next. But alas, his thoughts were disrupted, as a shot flew past his chest, leaving a scratch on its way.
Grabbing his side and looking backwards, Rain spotted the three guards from a distance. Although it was far enough, he could've sworn that he saw the anger in their eyes. This one's not over yet He said to himself with a sigh, as he started running again, still holding his left side.
A few moments later, Rain stopped, unable to continue due to his injury. Scanning his area, he looked for a cover, which wasn't present at the place. The only way to go was up. He just started climbing on the closest building as his searchers appeared around the corner again, shooting at him once more. This time, a bullet hit a window to his side, and broke it. At first glance it appeared empty, so Rain took his chances and jumped into the room. At least he had found his cover for now.
But it was then when he noticed that his first look deceived him. There was someone in the room besides him. A girl was sleeping there. It would only be a matter of time before she wakes up from the commotion outside…
What to do..?

"Mhmm...?" Zellie mumbled as her eyes slowly opened. She sat up, letting her eyes adjust to the light when she noticed her visitor and screamed. "Who are you? What do you want?!?" She quickly reached over the side of the bed and grabbed Forte, her katana, and Sorrow, her revolver, and pointed them hastily at the intruder.

"Oh, great", Rain muttered to himself as the girl pointed her weapons at him. He risked getting hit by the girl as he took her eyes off her and glanced out of the window. The three guards weren't there. Before he dozed off in thoughts, Rain was brought back to the present, at the sight of the katana and the revolver in his face. Right now, he needed to get the girl on his side, before his group of hunters will get another member. "Umm… hello", he said, still struggling to find his words. "Listen… If it wasn't for you and your room, I would probably got shot already, so you shooting me will be a bit ironic, don't you think..?". There was no time to dwell with words, as he had no idea how much time he had before the guards would show up again. A sudden pain went through his side as he got down to his knee, grabbing his left side. "I mean no harm… Honestly". He had nothing else to do but pray that the girl would trust a suspicious looking man who broke into her room. His chances were slim…

Zellie returned the gun to its proper place at her side but left Forte out. "Well explain yourself then....you don't seem like the criminal type anyway...." she said looking the man over until he noticed the scratch on his chest. "Oh you're hurt...." she said with a sigh as she casted cure, healing most of the wound. She offered the strange man a chair as she dusted off the table and brought out some bread and water from her rucksack.

"Thanks…" Rain said rather quietly as she cured his shot wound. Most of the pain had gone. "It's much better now, thank you", he thanked the girl again, though he was quite amazed at her swift willingness to offer help, despite the fact that she didn't know him. He shook his head and remained standing. "Listen, we don't have much time", he continued, as he looked at her while she took some bread out of her pack, "I have three Shinra guards on my tail. I won't be long before they figure out my exact location". Sighing, Rain walked towards the window and took another look outside, the street was seemingly calm. There was no sign of the guards. "There is no need for innocent people to get hurt…" Rain said, more to himself than anyone else, but he had no idea how to get out of this one without hurting anyone.

"What are they after you for? Erm that might have been a bit personal....well where are you planning on going? I think we could work out some sort of arrangement where we can both be happy and out of Midgar......" Zellie said finishing the food and sheathing the katana. Just then she heard footsteps and shouting down the street, "You should make your decision soon it won't be long before they arrive..."

Rain turned to look at her once more, rather surprised. "Out of Midgar… Both of us?" He asked, "Isn't this your home?". He took a look around the room, which honestly looked a bit deserted. It seemed as if the girl didn't spend most of her time there. Still, it was her home, and since Rain didn't have one, he valued its importance. Again Rain couldn't understand her almost blind willingness to help. To leave her own home and leave Midgar with someone's who's being hunted by Shinra guards? This girl's behavior was strange to him. "Well, let's say that I was trespassing somewhere", he replied to her query, as he looked out of the window again, something was going on there. "But to my defense I had no idea where I was, but there's no reasoning with them…". Shaking his head and trying to figure out a plan before time's up he started looking around the room, "Is there more than one way out of this place? Assuming that the window's not an option…"

"Yes this is my home....more like was really.....this place is a empty remnant of itself, but enough of that follow me!" She said leading him into the hallway, up through the cobweb filled attic and on to the rooftop."We can jump the roofs for a bit then take to the streets, we should loose them easy, oh and please don't look at me so strange...I have been yearning for an adventure of some kind and this could be it so just trust me ok?" She said her bright eyes matching her brilliant but shy smile.

How have the tables turned like this? Rain asked himself, looking at the girl's smile. Moments ago she pointed her gun at him, and he was the one to plea for her trust. Apparently luck can shine on one from time to time, and Rain isn't going to let this opportunity go away easily. "Luck was on my side today", He said as he looked around the place, "You've helped me a great deal". This plan seemed solid enough, and if all goes well, he should be out of the guards' reach soon, but who knows how many more times will Rain get into trouble like that as a result of foolish act of his. "Well then, no need to settle here and wait for them to catch up. From your quick thinking I understand that it's not your first time", he added with a faint smile, "Ladies first?"

"Well this is my first time running from ShinRa guards but..... I have had plenty of trouble to run away from as well. Anyway here I go!" She said after taking a running leap cleanly making it to the adjacent house. "We don't have too much time! Hurry across! Be careful though I haven't used this path in years I doubt the guards still know about it but its bound to be infested with monsters or thugs of some kind so be ready for a fight!" She yelled across while checking her bullet count and katana's edge.

"A fight?", Rain asked out loud as he leaped onto the nearby house's rooftop, "I thought that we're running away from one!". Sighing, he took out one of his throwing knives from his belt pocket and held onto it with in his left hand. "What's the point in running from one encounter to another?", He kept going as he jumped towards the next roof, following the girl's lead, "I must tell you, girl, you're reasoning is pretty vague". Rain stopped again and looked behind him. No sign of the guards yet, have they lost them already? Shaking his head to that thought, Rain turned once more and kept on going. Those three already proved their eagerness to catch him, so relying on them giving up isn't a good idea. "How long will we keep this?" He asked her, then after pondering for a while added, "Oh, and I forgot to ask, but what's your name?". Naturally, Rain needed to know the girl's name to which he's in debt, it was only fair.

"Oh I have been so scatterbrained I must have forgotten to introduce myself, I'm Zellie and you are?" She said flashing him another smile while leading him down a nearby fire escape into a dark backalley. She poked around on her music player for a second and found a fast paced rock song, perfect for a fight.

"I'm Rain", he replied shortly as he kept going after Zellie, this time down a fire escape staircase and into an alley. Finally off the roofs, but this place seemed worse. The alley was dark and unnaturally quiet, and it was almost too obvious that something hostile lurked there, even if it wasn't true. He looked at Zellie once more and apparently she put on some music. Again her behavior intrigued him. "You listen to music at a time like this?" He asked, and after a short while added, "You seem to be enjoying this, aren't you?". Rain shook his head. You're one weird girl, he finished the sentence in his mind, as he turned to follow her.

"When I was applying for ShinRa prior to Meteorfall, they observed that my battle style and mood is effected by music, for example a classical song would calm my nerves and let me think with a level head in combat and so forth...." It was then she noticed a small pack of three ShinRa guard hounds moving toward them on the opposite side of the alley. "Hm company, want to run the other way or plow through them?" She said showing a hint of nervousness and never looking directly into her newfound friend's eyes.
