Sin has been defeated by Yuna and her guardians...But as result, Tidus and Auron had to go.
But a few months into the eternal calm, Yuna is contacted by the Fayth...
They Fayth had decided to collect their thoughts and bring Tidus back because of Yuna's strength in defeating Sin.
But that's not the only reason...
Once again, problems are arising, and he is needed once more, as is Yuna and her other guardians.
Something is happening to the Farplane. The dead, including those who had been sent to the Farplane, are still coming back.
Old friends, such as Sir Auron.
And old enemies as well, such as Seymour Guado.
But why? And how?
In the world of Gaia...
The Lifestream has gone off course. Rather than coursing through the entire planet, it seems to be condensing into a concentrated area, moreso than normal: The Northern Crater.
Due to the dissipation of the Lifestream in other areas of the planet, the farther south you go, the more deserted and desolate the land. The planet is still dying, and only the northern lands are currently maintaining their life and luster.
But why? And how?
Two worlds collide...
Somehow, despite time and space, the two worlds have merged. The Farplane's attraction to the Lifestream has connected them, creating a sort of portal between the two worlds.
Those who set foot into the Lifestream find themselves hurled into the world of Spira, with no choice of where they appear, and no chance of getting back.
Unless they can make it to the Farplane. Of course, the only way to do that is to get to Guadosalam, the Guados having become even more unfriendly towards other races since the death of Seymour...
Old enemies return...
The Shin-Ra Electric Power Company has been isolated to Healin, and they aren't too happy about it. Hundreds of former employees are unemployed, the Turks recruiting duties have been put to a halt, and Rufus Shinra is having a difficult time rebuilding his company...
Due to the Farplane's inability to retain the souls of the dead, Seymour Guado is once again running about Spira. But not only Spira. He has business in Gaia as well...But what exactly could that be?
Instead of Shinra being the recruiters, the members of Shinra are being recruited into Seymour's plans to put an end to the world. The collision of the planets was due in great part by his influence in connecting with the Lifestream and joining it with the Farplane...He needs Shinra's technology and numbers to reinforce Guadosalam and prevent anyone from entering Gaia where the connection can be broken. He also needs their assistance in getting any of the possible threats in Gaia thrown into Spira to be contained.
Namely the members of AVALANCHE.
The impending fate...
If the connection of the Lifestream and the Farplane is not broken, the worlds will merge completely, causing time to stand still and send the world into a frozen state of eternal turmoil. No one will age, no one will be born, no one will heal if injured, no one will recover from sickness, nothing will happen. Life will go on, but it will not end, and it will not change. Eventually, over time, the people of both worlds will fall victim to panic and depression, and mass suicides and homicides will ensue, as the populations tear each other apart, slowly and surely, ending civilization completely, if not life itself...
The only hope...
The heroes of these two worlds must join forces in an effort to break the connection between the Lifestream and the Farplane before it is too late.
The base of the connection is physically located in Gaia, at the Northern Crater. This is where the Lifestream is primarily circulating, as though a maelstrom within a volcano. Someone must descend, and give up not only their life, but their soul as well, and they will be lost forever. Their soul will join with the Lifestream and act as a barrier, creating a rift between the two worlds once more.
But not just anyone can do this. The sacrifice must be a clean soul: a virgin, one who has never killed, never stolen, never lusted nor gorged.
An innocent must be lost, or all is lost...
Your mission is to create that rift...
