This Section is Under Construction
I figured I'd start by writing up some commonly used terms in the RP, just to see if anyone notices this. Obviously if you have anything to add, please do. And I'm not talking about chat speak either.
IC - In Character A normal roleplay post is IC, where you're acting as the character.
OOC - Out of Character This is when you go out of character, like to leave a note at the bottom of a post or something. This can also refer to if you get out of the normal cannon character's personality. We here at FD most use it for the first one though!
POV - Point of View - this is more about the way things are written. 1st person POV is sort of like a first person shooter, only in writing it's saying "I" and "me" when talking about the character. 3rd person POV is the more common one using "name of character" or "he" or "she" when talking about the character. 2nd person isn't valid here, but it's sort of like those 'Choose Your Own Adventure' stories where you're saying 'you' to describe the reader. Generally we use 3rd person in a roleplay setting, but it's very feasible to get away with 1st person.
RPG/RP - Roleplaying Game/Roleplay - I believe this would be obvious if you're here but, a RPG is pretty much where you step into the character's shoes and play out their life/adventure.
