Pain.
That's all he felt after crashing into the street from the failed attempt at killing the being he so hated most. His wings were broken, snapped like twigs from the most recent creation of his arch-nemesis. His right leg was completely unresponsive, and his left arm was bent and twisted at a very wrong angle. He couldn't feel anything there. Damn... he was unaware that the flying monstrosity had also done a number on his other limbs until now.
When he managed to stand, using his tail as a support, he noticed large drops of glowing violet blood staining the street. Great. The thing managed to carve through his tough armor too. He put both of his trusty guns back in their holsters, albeit awkwardly, due to the twisted form of his left arm.
Duorzum scowled, staring ahead down the street. He was still in his True Form. People would take one look at him and shriek in terror, or try to kill him. The more he thought about this situation, the more his scowl started to fade away. The previous expression was replaced with a neutral, uncaring, lax stare. Why bother trying to hide? Anybody could follow his blood trail. Anybody would see him from a mile away. It's not worth trying to hide while bleeding and broken up.
He had given up on himself, dragging his bleeding, broken carcass to hide somewhere just for survival's sake. He didn't care who saw him, not anymore.

Elstan saw a trail of strange blood. She followed it and saw someone injured. She ran over to him and got out a small medical pack. "Stay still. Now tell me where it hurts most. I will do my best to help you." she said and smiled. Half of her face was in the light. Her green cat like eyes were warm which was unusual. She sighed and waited for his response.

Duo had nearly shot the woman when she spoke. He didn't even hear her coming. Where did she come from, and why was she offering to help him? People didn't help demons. She had a medpack, so she must know something about healing. The violet demon put the gun away, staring at her with a tired, dull gaze. Despite his irises being the brightest violet ever, they were dulled due to fatigue and other factors.
The bright violet blood continued to drip from the claw wound across his chest. Damn, this was a deep wound. Had he not been bitten already from the creature's anti-coagulant covered teeth, it wouldn't be bleeding. It wouldn't even be there. That bite had stopped the regeneration process.
When she asked him a very obvious question, he wanted to knock himself out. All she had to do was look at him, and that would answer her question. Duo did not respond.

Elstan looked him over and sighed. She looked at his wound and took out some antiseptic spray. She sprayed it on the wound then applied pressure to stop the bleeding. "Right we're gonna have to get you somewhere safe. I can take you back to my err home of you so wish. There will be doctors there." she said. She released her single white, black tipped wing. She offered to carry him as flight would be quicker than walking.

Duorzum was about to stubbornly object the woman's offer, but a loud roar from the distance changed his mind. His head snapped up in the direction of the roar. He was in no condition to fight that thing again. If it found him, he'd be broken in further. Death was a huge percentage if it decided to see him in this state. He turned his attention back to the lady and took up the offer with a nod.
"Fine. We need to get out of here anyway."

Elstan nodded and picked him up with ease. She beated her wing and they were airbourne. She saw the monster. A smile creased her lips and she threw one of her throwing knives at the creature and made the fatal shot.
She landed outside a desolate building and sighed. She opened the door and let the doctors take the wounded man to theatre. She stood watching with her arms folded as she let her wing retreat back into her shoulder.

Duo seemed rather disgruntled about having to use someone else to fly, but what else could he do? Walk? Especially with that THING nearby? No thank you. After hearing that bellowing roar of rage, he figured that the most the woman had done was wedge it in a steel tough scale or something. He kept his mouth shut as he was flown to some abandoned theater. Wait, what? He felt the hands of medics grab him and haul him in. They were going to have a tough time actually picking him up. He was surprisingly heavy.
Even though he wanted to bolt away from the doctors, he could not. Broken limbs made that seemingly simple task a lot more difficult that it should be. Instead, he allowed himself the luxury of unconsciousness.

The assassin waited four anxious hours before the loyal doctors of the assassin's bureau came out. "He's going to need rest, especially when he comes round from the anaesthetic." a male doctor said. Elstan nodded and walked to the mans room. She pulled a chair up to his bed and prayed to the gods he would be alright. She watched over him most of the night, and thought of ways on how to kill that beast. An assassin could do it easily. They had the element of surprise on their sides.

He was promised sleep. After a long time of running and fighting, his luck had turned around. The bones were set back in their proper positions, and the anti-coagulant had disappeared. Those factors kicked in Duo's natural hyper-regeneration. The broken bones and torn tissues began to knit themselves together. Sleep sped up this process. His wings healed up first, since they took the least amount of time.
He would be completely healed by morning.

Morning came and Elstan woke up. She must have drifted off some time during the night. She checked the mans heart monitor. Normal. She let out a sigh of relief. The assassin was pleased that she had help him. After all she was a monster herself. You don't see many people with a single angel's wing sprouting out if their right shoulder blade. She just wanted to wait until he woke up to talk to him. If she could get information maybe she could help him.

He eventually woke up feeling more refreshed than he had ever been. The first thing he saw was white. Ah crap, he was captured! Before he decided to ultimately panic, he remembered the strange woman from yesterday. Duo relaxed when he realized that he was not in a lab. His human disguise immediately kicked in, covering his being in a purple-black haze. After the haze cleared, he seemed as human as he could possibly get it.
The Violet Demon got out of the bed, slightly confused at to where he was. Well, if he wasn't in a lab, where was he?

"I wouldn't get out of bed if I were you. You need rest and I advise you get back into bed before I call the nurses." came an emotionless voice from his bedside. Elstan had her arms folded and was leaning against the curtain rail. "My name is Elstan Shadow aka The Angel of Death. Welcome to Cozone Hospital. You shall recover here until you get your story straight." she sighed and sat back down.

He sat back down on the bed. Could he at least have the pleasure of being able to walk around a bit? His injuries were completely healed already! What was up with that? Duo revealed his wings through the human illusion, stretching the great aerial appendages out before folding them to his body. They happened to be a soft violet color, the wings themselves tattered a bit at the edges. It felt great to stretch them, and it would feel greater to fly with them.
When she introduced herself, he responded in kind, "I am designated as Duorzum, Duo for short. What do you want to know?"

Elstan sighed and released her own wing. "Your not the only monster here, Duo. I was created by Sephiroth's cells. However, I'm neutral on this whole blow up the world and rebuild it thing. Ok enough of me, what was the creature that attacked you? More importantly, did it come up from the Planet itself?" she said. Her mako green, cat like eyes showed no emotion. They were hungry for war. Elstan herself hadn't had a decent fight in a while.

The Violet Demon did not respond right away. He laid back on the bed, getting himself comfortable, "It was a science experiment, and a damned good one this time. The last one was hard to kill, but this one I can't even penetrate the armor."
His tail exposed itself through the illusion, occasionally swaying over the side of the bed. He seemed pretty relaxed. The experiment wanted to take the day off and just sleep, however, with that thing still out there, his allies were in big trouble. He was the only thing that stood between the beast and his ragtag group, quite literally. Duo annoyed the monster so much, that it had taken a shine to crushing him, which was what he was hoping for.
