Word Count: 1013 Notes: None The Fallen Feather;; .:No one is born evil into th is world, the way I see it... we all have a choice, our paths can only be woven by us:. - - - - - - - - - Banora Ruins...
So quiet and peaceful, although seemingly quite dead, uninhabited and such. Drips of water echoed from unknown places, it could only be heard and not seen. As footsteps neared closer, the cave began to slowly take in light from a womanly figure, one so silent and pure.
There didn't seem to be any other source of life within the cave, at the given moment there was only one, emitting elegance and luminosity. The ruins of Banora, the pathways that led to the underground got only one taste of light with each step the feminine figure took, but that sweet bliss went away as quickly as it came when the figure progressed further, blessing another step forward with its own single taste of light.
Completely long white hair, with no streaks this time, fell down the woman's back, emitting a heavenly aura. Once soft eyes of silver were now that of shining pearl white, glowing intensely, birthmark that use to be a crescent moon was now a curved ivory coloured wing.
The womanly figures face was the same as always, though her lips were coated with white, cheeks and eyelids dusted with glitter, and nails painted pearly. Her attire remained the same, though consisting of heavenly colours, along with a cloak made entirely out of white shimmering feathers, with the hood up, shielding the beauty's face.
Taking on a form of pure light, she knew of her destiny at this given moment, she was aware of what she had to do, it was a hard choice, but one that needed to be done... no matter how sad it was.
She didn't even know what would become of her... or if she would ever return, but... for the sake of the Planet, for the sake of her children, it needed to be done. Thinking back, she knew they would be alright without her, she made sure the residents of Edge would look after them. But... who she thought about most during all of this... was the man she loved, honored and cherished with all her heart.
Would he hate her for doing this? She didn't even know, but as she kept walking, all she could think about was him and their memories together.
"We alone cannot change the way things are, that is why we need to accept others into our lives, to make it better, to make it worth while... I know I won't be alone... because you're with me, you won't leave me in the dark!"
"I thing it's intresting because I am the only one in this world as far as I know who has feathers. But here you are... With some unusual, feathery form. It's fascinating."
"Yes, but I am no angel... not like you,"
"You are an Angel; just not a One-Winged-Angel. Be glad of that. There is only one One-Winged-Angel, that's me. And I am not exactly welcomed in this world."
"You'll always be my friend, Sephiroth, not for your looks, or for your reputation, but because I accept you for who you are, that includes even in your most worst moments, because if I don't want you in your worst moments, then I don't deserve to have you around at your best moments!"
"Please, don't leave me alone here. I need you now, more than ever. You saw what just happened to me, you are the only one who I have feelings for. I'm sorry I've hurt you. I've hurt myself too much as well."
With each memory, each voice, each heartfelt moment... she found it harder to keep moving, but... no... this had to be done! She needed to do this! It hurt her so much... she didn't want to leave him, she didn't want to leave anyone, but for the sake of the Planet, she had to do something to protect it.
"I love you, and nothing will change that. My everlasting life will be much more bearable when I know I have you with me... Promise me you will call for me, whenever you need me? Please..."
"Sephiroth..." those gentle yet tender words laced with sadness escaped the heavenly woman's lips as she finally reached where she needed to be. It was an unknown cave with eight pillars against the wall at the end, the pillars seemed to have rune markings on them in an unknown language, one the woman could read.
Each pillar represented an element, between four each was a carved drawing of a supreme being with eight angelic wings, each also presented an element, the being appeared to be sleeping, in the background there appeared to be images of life, death, peace, and destruction.
Strengthening her emotions, the woman lifted her head up high as she stared at the supreme being, her hands were slightly shaking by her sides.
This was why she rebirthed, she understood that now.
"My Angel..."

Yazoo himself had come to Banora a day beforehand, searching for some much needed solitude. It seemed like a prime place for this, for the residents were either dead or long gone. A quiet place to gather his thoughts was much needed, for he did indeed have alot to think about.
He lie, sleeping soundly, beneath the blackened trunk of a Banora White tree. Loveless was lying open on his stomach. For once, the mutations forced upon him at the Icicle Area did not plauge him as he slept. For once, he finally was able to achieve peace.
But, it was short lived. The comforting darkness of slumber wavered before dissolving to reveal the image of a beautiful woman, cloaked in the purest of lights, walking slowly down a shadow shrouded cave, almost reluctantly. Yazoo knew this person almost instantly. Kyrie. What was she doing here? By the way her shoulders slumped ever so slightly, he could tell she was weighted with a hard decision. Something was definately not right.
Yazoo's cat-like eyes snapped open as he lurched into a sitting position, causing Loveless the slide off his stomach onto the ground. He knew, by some unknown instinct, that he had to follow her. He replayed the image of his dream again in his mind, realizing that she was here, in Banora. Well, that made things simpler. Tucking his book away, Yazoo took off at a run in the direction of Kyrie.
As it turns out, his suspicions were true. Staring intently into a cave's mouth he could see the heavenly light eminated from Kyrie's Light form. He followed with silent footfalls, unsre if Kyrie would be thrilled to find him here. An eeerie silence filled the cave, save for the sound of Kyrie's feet and Yazoo's own near silent breathing.
By the unmoving light ahead, the Remnant of Sephiroth could tell that Kyrie had found what she was looking for. Yazoo quickly concealed himself behind a rock wall and peered out at Kyrie. What was she doing..?

Word Count: Notes: None The Fallen Feather;; .:No one is born evil into th is world, the way I see it... we all have a choice, our paths can only be woven by us:. - - - - - - - - - So... this was it? Just as the Elementals had said, this was where they slept until re-awoken by the Heavuanavei in their time of need, though one could not call upon such beings and walk the earth at the same time. No... she would no longer be around, only cased until the right time came. But, cased in what? Even she didn't know, all she was told was to come here... despite not wanting to leave the ones she cared for, it was for their own safety that she do this.
Silently, the feathers on her cloak began to fall one by one by her feet, exposing her body and the back of her head. No further instructions had been given, all she could do now was wait until her time came.
This was to her place of rest, she knew that much, she didn't know if she'd die or remain living, that was in the hands of the Elements, they would decide that for her. Opening her eyes slowly, managing to hold back her sadness, Kyrie looked over her shoulder just barely, the side of her face was slightly seen as she spoke. "You don't have to hide..." she murmured, the Element's senses telling her she was no longer alone, she was calm because she was assured it was no threat.
Despite knowing there was someone here, she didn't turn around to look at them, just merely looked forward again, her head lowering quite sadly as pained filled eyes looked to the ground.

Yazoo tensed, hearing her admit she sensed his presence. With a sigh, he came out from behind the rock, green eyes reflecting confusion and slight saddness. He could easily tell that the weight of whatever she was about to do weighed heavily on her. Yazoo blinked slowly, gazing at the beautiful woman with saddness eminating from her like that very aura of her Light form.
"Kyrie..." He murmmured, unsure what he should say. Words of consolation seemed useless. Dissuading her would be futile. After all, if she was so pained by this, yet still willing to go through with it, nothing would dissuade her. A rush of emotions swirled through him, both Sephiroth's and his own. He may not care for the Fallen Feather as much as his Brother, but the feeling was still there; an intense, burning desire to make sure no harm came to her. However, he seemed powerless in this situation.
He shook his silver haired head ever so slightly, causing his hair to rustle on his shoulders. "What are you... doing?"

But... it was just the thought of no longer being there for the ones she cared about... the ones she loved... how could she possibly go through with it?
"You've been lying to me from the very beginning. Don't you dare insult Jenova... To put yourself above her is your greatest error. You are no better than she was... At least Jenova is honest... Jenova may not be my mother; but Yazoo, Kadaj, and Loz were bred from her and my cells. She is their mother, and you will not taint that honor, Human Scum... Do not speak about things which you do not understand..."
Kyrie's eyes quivered slightly as those horrible words echoed in her mind, bringing her close to tears. Her hands shook by her sides as she remembered that day, it took all her will power to force herself not to cry. "I... have... to... do this..." she strained, her whole body tensed and strained as she forced herself not to break down.
"The scratch I left won't kill her. You do what you wish with her, Brother. It doesn't matter if you shoot her or let her live. It makes no difference to me."
No! No, she just couldn't, her body felt like it was going to explode due to various thoughts and emotions, she couldn't turn away from her destiny now. "I-I... have to... s-seal... myself away..." she wasn't talking to Yazoo, just uttering words to remind herself of her set goal, no doubt he could hear her "... e-everyone's... doing all they can... to protect The Planet... this is... what I must do... to help..."
"Get this through your thick skull, Kyrie... I don't want you... I don't need you to protect me from anything, I can take care of myself and my dear Brothers. You should just return to wherever you came from, and leave us be..."
That did it. With a pained cry, Kyrie collapsed to her knees, clutching her heart as it finally tore itself apart, her head hung as she burst into tears, her very heartbreak and sadness caused the rune markings on the pillars to react, slowly lighting up in their represented colour.
"I... I can't..." she sobbed to both Yazoo and the Elements that spoke only to her "he... doesn't need me... but I... I still love him... no matter what... I always will..." this was getting too much for her now, but suddenly... upon saying that, she realised something.
Her sobs seemed to quite down as she soon came to terms with it. To do this... would rid her from pain and sadness, even for a little while, or maybe even forever, as well as protecting the Planet, the Elements were protecting her also, the fate of a Heavuanavei was sad... especially one so broken hearted.
With her head hung low and tears still streaming, Kyrie finally accepted her fate. "Yazoo..." she sniffled, a small smile beginning to form on her lips as she slowly lifted herself up from the ground, this time she turned to face him so that he would see what she had become, she was still crying, but they seemed to flow down her glittery cheeks so gracefully.
Her pearl white gaze soon focussed on him, a kind yet saddened smile aimed directly at him. "I'm glad... that at least... you're with me..." her voice was a little shaken from crying, but still soft none the less, she knew it'd pain her to say, but she needed to ask "how... is he...?"
Yazoo would know who she was talking about...

Yazoo took a startled step backward when Kyrie sank to her knees, sobbing. Pain flared up in his heart seeing her like this. Could anything be done to ease her pain? Yazoo knew the one thing that would, and that was unlikely. After what Sephiroth had said, nothing seemed to be able ease the blow.
"Sealing yourself away will do little for the Planet." He said, finally able to find the words. "It will do nothing but seal your pain away for a short time... but then it will come back." With slow steps, the Remnant of Sephiroth came to stand before Kyrie. How sad this was... to see her like this. No matter how gracefully the tears spilled down her glittery cheeks, they were still tears. He hated being so powerless. No matter if this woman hated Jenova... she was in love with his Brother. And, no matter what he said, Yazoo knew Sephiroth still cared about her.
He nearly winced as a pained smile was directed at him, and Kyrie's white eyes focused onto his green ones. "I..." His usually velvety smooth voice faded as he shook his head once more. I wish I could say the same. Yazoo added inwardly instead of replying to Kyrie's admittance that she was glad he was here. "Sephiroth has issues of his own he's dealing with." Why was she asking him this? It was obvious that the words pained her. "I wish something could be said to ease your suffering, but I myself have not seen Sephiroth since the Mako Reactor." With a finger, he gently brushed a tear from her glittery cheek. "But I know he'd hate seeing you like this.

Silly... trust Yazoo to not understand, she wasn't doing this so that her pain would end, in all honesty, such a sadness as this could cause any Heavaunavei to deteriorate until eventually they die... much like rose without water, or ice that slowly melts in the sun.
"Yazoo..." she said softly, turning to face him, her heavenly form remained as it was, though it gave her the look of a sad angel, she gently cupped his face in her hands as she looked at him eye to eye "... I never expected you to understand, but... please understand this, such sadness as this... will only deteriorate me until I... fade away... and no, it's not that I'd do something to end my suffering, that would make me weak..."
She looked away briefly, she knew exactly what this would do for her... as well as the Planet. "This isn't an escape, I need to do this to live, time will heal me... but at the same time..." her eyes averted sadly, finding it hard to look at him "you know the Threat that's been harming the Planet? Fusing my body within here can somehow help, my thoughts along with the Element's can help hold it back every so often, the problem is... I don't know when or if I'll ever wake up..."
Kyrie had thought about this more than enough times until she finally made her decision, there was no going back on it, this was her duty, no one could stop her from facing her destiny, this was inevitable. "If... you ever see him again..." she murmured, pulling one of feathers off along with Faith's Materia that Sephiroth had once smashed... she looked down at it for a while before calmly crushing it to glittering dust in her hand, she then slowly cupped the two in her hands in a spherical shape, a flash emitted before fading.
She then moved her hand off over the other and presented to Yazoo a silvery orb, quite like Materia, but looking closely at it, there appeared to be feathers raining down it, though this was an illusion that only those who stared at it for too long saw, not straight away. "Give this to him... tell him he can see me this way, but... not how he usually would... I guess you could say, it's a little like Summon Materia... however," she looked at him seriously as she carefully placed it in his hands "he can only summon me when he truly needs to, not whenever he feels like it... also... tell him to be careful with it... once it's destroyed, there's no restoring it... sadly..."
Hopefully, Yazoo would find him and give the orb to him, if not, there was not much else she could do. "Let him know... that no matter what... his "Angel" will always love him, and his second wing will forever guide him..." a light smile appeared on her lips, remembering the more greater times with her love.
Though suddenly, at that time, she felt a voice call out to her, with a somewhat startled gasp, Kyrie turned back to face the immaculate drawing, the pillars seemed to be reacting by sending a calm and echoic ringing sound around the room that was soon followed by whispers, deep inside her heart... she knew...
"It's time..."

Yazoo stared dumbly back at the heavenly form of Kyrie, a faint glimmer of emotion in his eyes: understanding. He knew what feeling would plauge him if he was in her shoes. Absently, he rubbed the form of his wedding ring under his glove. He felt as if he'd deteriorate if it was Elstan who had told him that she hated him. Green eyes went soft with sympathy. "You feel that you need to do this... I won't stop you."
He watched numbly as Kyrie generated the Materia, an eyebrow arched slightly. He recognized the object from the Reactor. An image of Sephiroth flashed through his subconcious. He'd destoryed that object at the Reactor... right when he said the words that might as well have been knives. Yazoo bobbed his head once in a nod, stowing the Materia in his coat pocket.
"I'll tell him, Kyrie... I promise" He murmmured, gazing back at the heavenly woman. That is, if he doesn't run he through for not stopping you first. The Remnant added to himself. He could imagine that Sephiroth would be quite angry with him, yet Yazoo was powerless in this situation. Kyrie had her mind made up.
The flash of light startled him for a brief moment, but he understood what it meant right after it happened. It was time... Time for Kyrie to recede into the Earth to help fight the Threat. "I guesss this is goodbye." Yazoo looked up, a tiny, slightly forced smile upon his face.
"Good night, Kyrie. I'll see you again soon, I know it."

Word Count: 543 Notes: None The Fallen Feather;; .:No one is born evil into th is world, the way I see it... we all have a choice, our paths can only be woven by us:. - - - - - - - - - Kyrie didn't bother holding back her tears at that moment, she just let them fall. Without thinking, she wrapped her arms around Yazoo, hugging him gently, happy that he was here with her. "Thank you for understand, Yazoo..." she whispered in his ear before letting go of him and taking a step back.
"Please, don't forget to tell him... it would mean so much to me..." she smiled sadly before turning to face the immaculate drawing on the wall, the Elements were speaking to her, she closed her eyes to listen to their voices, but whilst doing so... her form slowly began to break away into embers, sparks, leaves, snow, raindrops, light, and mist. All were soon carried by the wind, Kyrie's body was no longer there.
As each symbolizing their element was carried and dissolved into their pillar, this causing the drawing on the wall to slowly emit the cracks in a white light until finally everything began to glow intensly, by the time the light had faded. Surprisingly to be found was Kyrie within the wall, taking the place of the drawing.
She appeared to be behind a crystal-like wall in the centre of the rocky one, her attire was her every day Air garments, she appeared to be sleeping though looked to be as if she was underwater with her hair slowly. Her head was bowed slightly as she appeared either dead or asleep, no one could tell if she was breathing or not, and lastly her arms remained by her sides, looking closely, a tear could be seen sliding down her cheek every so often.
And so her time began. [/blockquote]

Why...? Why had he been summoned then? Right after he had broken ones heart, one whom he cared for dearly? He Had been called away before he could make amends... Back then, his sanity had snapped; and he had said things he greatly regretted now. And now... He had back from that summoned meeting... Back on this Planet... A planet whose suffering now reflected his own...
Here he was, standing in the dry pool of what had once been Mideel's Lifestream pond... Only now, it carried no trace of the mysterious; greenish-blue liquid/gas. He had just returned from the Lifestream; where he had had met strange, faceless beings... Discussing what to do for the doomed world now. Hope for its life to be preserved was little, and only his presence there had calmed these restless spirits. They had confessed that they had no more strength to save the world; and formally layed the entire burden on his shoulders. They hadn't even given him a choice... He had his suspicions now about who they had been; Ancients... Though he had not seen that Aeris woman among the gathered ones. No complaints there. But now... Saving this sorry scrap of rock; floating in an endless void of darkness... It was not something he could find inspiration to do. Only one person had been able to keep his hopes up about his destiny...
And then he realized what was missing... That link in his mind, the one he had tried to hard to sever; even thought he had been successful... It was simply... Gone... Someone had gone to where he couldn't reach... Kyrie.... He thought miserably. What had happened to her? Had her grief at his insane rejection been too much for her? Had she chosen to leave the world, as he had suspected she would eventually? Right now, he was desperate... Desperate for a familiar hand to hold his own... Desperate to gaze into those silver eyes... But he didn't know where she was...
All he could do, was trust his instinct to take him to her... He had no leads; all he could do was picture her face every clearly in his crashing mind, and hope that he would find her... The massive wing wrapped around his body, and he vanished into the Everdark... The Everdark was pretty much the void of no existence, the place where one could travel at high speed; practically teleport. But this place was also dangerous. Very few could use it... As it was here that fears became solid and memories became alive. Those fears would attack and destroy victims who somehow wandered into it's gaping maw. But he was Sephiroth, the One-Winged-Angel... The very embodiment of fear itself. He had no trouble passing through this strange 'world between worlds'.
And then he saw a tunnel of light open up before him, and he was sucked in. Now... Here he was... Standing in a small underground-appearing area. Black feathers fluttered to the ground all around him as he appeared there, and he almost doubled over in pain. As his destination had not been apparent in the everdark, agony had pierced his body from within. The effort of the travel had taken so much energy, he was feeling weak. But that face he had burned into his mind; he was staring directly at it... Apparently engraved in some wall.
"Kyrie..." He whispered, horrified. A gloved hand rose slowly, pressed on the strangely glass-like surface; as if he were reaching for her. And that black hole within that was all the heart he had... It simply... Ripped... He had nothing left; cold, empty... Nothing... He had hurt Kyrie for the last time; now she was embedded in some rock. He didn't know how it happened, but he suspected that he knew why.
Anger flared up inside, fury rearing its ugly head. The Masamune appeared in his hand, and he stepped back. No... he couldn't let her go just yet... There had to be some way to get her out of this state! The Masamune rose to strike, clutched in a vice-like grip. The tip was trembling slightly as it hovered over the crystalline rock. But he didn't move. A moment later, the sudden rush of energy faded. For all he knew, destroying the rock could destroy whatever was left of Kyrie... His knees shook slightly, and the the long sword plunged. Not into the rock wall, but into the ground. The blade buried at least 3 feet in the earth, powered by his desperation. He leaned on it, still clutching the hilt with both hands.
Most men cried only very rarely, and usually in solitude where they wouldn't be seen. But he was physically incapable of shedding a tear. But if he could have, the tears would have been flowing now. He stared at the ground, trembling all over as he continued to rely on the blade for support. Slowly, he began to calm himself. He stared up at the wall again, and vowed, "Kyrie... I'm so sorry... I promise you, I will right my wrongs... I will find out a way to release you from your slumber, so that we may be together again; but only if you wish it..." It was a solemn promise, and he expected no reply. It wasn't as if a rock could talk anyway...
He remained stationary, staring at her pristine figure in the crystal, and suddenly became aware of the presence not far behind him. "Brother..." He whispered wearily, without turning around. He didn't care that Yazoo had seen his breakdown just now.. It didn't matter... He just didn't care anymore... But he was curious as to why his Brother was here... But he wouldn't ask anything. He had no right to question anyone now. He was just a broken monster, chasing non-existent dreams and a hopeless destiny. A fate all true monsters were doomed to...

Yazoo held a hand before his eyes to shield them from he bright glow emitted from Kyrie's dissolving form. It would have been a pretty lights show, if it wasn't carrying away somebody that a close family member of his held dear. And thus, he cared deeply for Kyrie as well, even if he may not love her as Sephiroth did. "I promise that I will not forget. I hope you have sweet dreams." A smile touched the corners of his pale lips, slightly pained. Oh how he did not look forward to breaking this news to Sephiroth.
Cat-like eyes slid to a cloud of feathers that materialzed from thin air, revealing none other than Sephiroth himself. Well, speak of the devil. Yazoo swore inwardly, for he hadn't yet thought of something semi-intelligent to say to his Brother. This would not be easy news to break.
However, it seemed as if he didn't need to say anything right away. Sephiroth seemed to see Kyrie encased in the glittering stone, and pretty much broke down, if Sephiroth was capable of such a thing. Why was Yazoo the one burdened with the job of being the messanger of Kyrie's final words? He sincerely hoped that his Brother believed in the saying "Don't shoot the messenger".
Yazoo had never seen Sephiroth so... broken. He saw the One-Winged Angel as a man who could not be bothered by... anything. He was convinced that if the world was ending around Sephiroth, he'd merely yawn and watch it with a bored look. But upon seeing him like this, Yazoo was completely and utterly dumbfounded.
With a quick look at the Materia in his hands, Yazoo rolled his shoulders and gathered up the courage to speak. "Sephiroth..." He murmmured, looking down once more with a long sigh. "Kyrie... told me to give this to you. The Remnant strode up to where Sephiroth leaned against his impressive blade that was driven into the ground, and pressed the Materia into Sephiroth's gloved hands. "She said that if you ever need her, you can summon her. She loves you, and also says that your second wing will be forever there to guide you. There was nothing I could do to stop her." He lowered his eyes, scuffling a foot on the stone cave floor. "I am sorry... Brother."
