The sky above was painted black with the gentle wings of night time, its darkness unbroken save for the few stars that shone like tiny diamonds thrown across the horizon. Not even the moon was visible to wash the ground in its silver glow. Despite the oppressing darkness, there was a calm lying thick in the air. Although, there was only one soul in the area to feel the calm, so maybe it was all in his head.
Yazoo quickly dismissed the matter, telling himself it was useless to ponder such trivial things. He was speeding down a desolate road on his motorcycle, silver hair flowing behind him like a river washed in moonlight. Why he sought to go to a backwater town such as Nibelheim, he wasn't sure, yet he felt a tugging desire to see the town himself. The only problem, however, was the fact he had no idea which way the town lie.
A tiny wooden sign poking crookedly from the ground came into view, illuminated by the headlight on his motorcycle. He skidded to a halt in front of it, green eyes scanning it quickly. Scrawled across it in faded black paint was the word NEIBELHEIM and a arrow pointing to the right side of the fork in the road he suddenly realized he was at. Well, that was one way to assure yourself you were going in the right direction. Nodding to himself, Yazoo sped off in the indicated direction, silently praying that old wooden signs were to be trusted.
Thankfully, they are. Surely enough, the silver haired Remnant came to a stop just in front of the entrance to Nibelheim, green eyes scanning his surroundings intently. The town wasn't much to marvel at, really, being just a few buildings with a few people sleeping peacefully in their homes. Now, the million dollar question was: Why was he here? A backwater town like this normally held little to no interest for Yazoo. So why, suddenly, did he want to come here?
He shook his head, deciding that he might as well explore while he was here. He pulled the keys from the ignition and dismounted the motorcycle, pushing the kickstand down with a foot. He sauntered through the center of the town, eyes darting from side to side to take in his surroundings. Deciding that it was useless to merely stride up and down the town searching for something that may not be there, he continued down the dirt road leading away from the central town. The road forked in two directions, one snaking further forward than he could see, and the other leading to an elegant looking mansion. A single silver eyebrow shot up in interest. Maybe this place held more than it let on.
He started down the path opposite to that of the mansion, kicking up dust in his wake. ((I'm gonna stop right there, because I'm not sure if the old Mako reactor is still there or not ^.^))

Travelling by air, that was the way to travel, well, it was for Kyrie at least, her Fallen Feather form being her vessel, the various white feathers carrying her transparent body. A gentle sigh escaped her throat, breathing in the fresh night air, the night fell so relaxing, a blanket of darkness bejewelled with glittering stars.Nibelheim. She remembered this place all too well, before she had become this... Heavuanavei. during her more human days back in SOLDIER, she would come here on missions, one mission in particular did not go well, her mistake that day had caused the death of her best friend, she was careless...
Dismissing the thought, knowing it would not help her in her travels, Kyrie slowly let her form float down to the ground, her form gaining visibility, followed by the feathers dissolving into her skin, she was back on her feet. Her skin appeared pale, but a little dim due to there being rarely any light around, only a few lanterns that lit this backwater town.
She was already in the town now, having floated over the sign when she arrived. The young woman looked around, it appeared that everyone was asleep, not that she could complain, at least hopefully she wouldn't be followed. What were her reasons for being here? She had no research to do, what could she possibly research anyway? Maybe... it was just the memories...
With a deep sigh, Kyrie made her way to a road that forked in two directions, one side led to the mansion, whilst the other side... Kyrie averted her gaze slightly, in a sense... it was the road that led to her best friend's death, still... she decided to take it. Her half dress-like sash blew carelessly in the breeze, the white material with silver feather motifs caught the light lightly, the silver metal feather crafted band curling up her right thigh and the same thing was around left arm, they both glinted in the light.
Silvery eye lashes fluttered as the young woman blinked, confused by the sight ahead of her. She could just about see someone... huh? Long silver hair? That couldn't be who she thought it was... no, surely not, it may have been long, but not that long. Kyrie wasn't sure if she wanted to progress further, for all she knew, this person could mean trouble, but being herself, she never thought of such things.
Maybe this stranger was lost. Casting aside her worries, Kyrie picked up the pace, though gave the stranger his space.
"Is everything alright? You seem... lost..." she spoke softly, her expressioned softened, the innocence in her silver eyes made it seen that she meant no harm.
Oh, how curiosity killed the cat... but satisfaction brought it back.

Yazoo froze mid-stride, hearing a voice behind him. Oh? Somebody following me? He said inwardly, debating on wheather or not to draw his weapon. Despite the fact that the voice behind him was feminine, he was fully aware that most women these days can catch one off guard.
"Is everything allright? You seem...lost."
For some reason, he found this tremendously funny. His body shook with soft laughter as he turned to address the person speaking. He decided it was in his best intrest not to draw Velvet Nightmre just yet, but his hand nonchalantly lingered over its holster. "Lost? I'm afraid not. Merely... investigating."
Now that he got a good look at the woman following him, Yazoo had a sudden, odd thought that he was hallucinating. She was indeed beautiful, but in that un-natural way, like staring into the face of an angel statue. Gray eyes stared curiously back at him. But, something danced in their foggy depths that he couldn't quite put his finger on. Almost like a recognition that quickly faded as she realized who he was.
Curiosity prickled at the back of his heart, but he decided it would be smartest to leave the matter alone for now.

Kyrie waited for the stranger to turn around, but once he did, her silver eyes widened, those eyes... sharp, piercing cat-like eyes, porcelain skin, and a face shaped to perfection. This man... who was most likely no older than her, he looked... just like him. He appeared more feminine, of course, but there were still a lot of similarities...
When he spoke, it sent a shiver down Kyrie's spine, it was rather heart-stopping, so soft yet with a hint of malice, like a cold murmur, but at the same time it was so entrancing. Knee high metallic boots softly padded against the ground as she walked up to him, hopefully no battle would start, she wasn't weak or unarmed... but fighting... pointless fighting just got so tiresome. "Investigating?" came her soft voice as she repeated his words, what could he possibly investigating around these parts.
She wondered if this man knew of the Mako Reactor becoming ruins, ever since a certain event that led a great Hero into insanity. "Well, I don't think you'll find anything down this road... there use to be a Mako Reactor... but that's in ruins now, not much there..." she then looked back the way she came "there is a mansion though... it's filled with many books, I don't know if it will help though."
What was she doing!? Helping a complete stranger? Well, it did sound like something she would do, but still... there was something odd about this man.

Yazoo suddenly felt uncomfortable as her silver eyes scanned him intently, as if she saw somebody else in him, or recognized him as a seemingly long forgotten friend. But... he'd never seen her before in his life. If he had, he'd remember her face, for it was one he was not likely to forget.
Intrest sparkled in his gaze as the Mako Reactor was mentioned. "That would be the same Reactor that Mo-" He cut off, realizing she wouldn't know what he meant by 'Mother" "-Jenova was originally kept, correct?"
He suddenly understood why he was drawn to this place. Mother had direct ties into Nibelhiem. She must have willed him to come here, to find out more about what the fools of this world had done to her.
"I believe that I will visit the mansion after I visit the Mako Reactor's Ruins. It may still hold some intrest for me." Yazoo said half to himself, green cat-like eyes locking onto this woman.
Suddenly, he realized who she saw in him. Sepheroth. Do i really look so much like my Brother?

Kyrie sighed as she looked away from the young man, she didn't know who he was exactly... but she knew who he had ties to, she didn't know why it saddened her so though...
She had been around a certain someone enough to know what this man meant when he stopped himself from saying Mother, even she had entered a stage like that once, but still... Kyrie didn't want to let him know that she knew, she didn't want to crush him by telling him the truth, she had only met him, but being around someone... she learned to expect it from others.
Sighing, she walked after the man... maybe she could keep him out of trouble. "Well... this is where a friend of mine died long ago... I wouldn't mind looking back at this place, so... I hope you don't mind me coming with you..." she said, portraying something that was barely a chuckle "...and your name is?"

At first, Yazoo was unure if he should allow her to come along, but something behind her gaze told him it was best not to refuse. He was momentarily confused at the saddness flickering across her face, but it was gone quickly.
"You may come, if you wish, but I'm afraid out reasons for going are far from similar." He admitted, starting down the dusty road. "My name is Yazoo. And yours?"
The silver haired Remnant's eyes flicked back to the woman at this question, strangely empty of any hostility. For some reason he couldn't comprehend, he could't bring himself to be openly hostile. Maybe it was her ties with Sepheroth, or some power he had no knowlege of.

Why did it feel as if the weight on her shoulders was getting heavier? What could she possibly say to him? 'Sorry, but Jenova isn't really your Mother'? She pitied him... he had no idea, did he? Would it really be wise of her to keep something like this from him? Then again... maybe she'd wait until Sephiroth found him, Kadaj was already with him, Yazoo would hopefully be the second, now all there was is to find the last one.Speaking of such, that was quite an odd name he possessed, she wondered where he had even gotten it... wait, who did name the three Remnants anyway? It made her wonder.
Her thoughts were soon broken though when he asked of her name, she smiled lightly. "Kyrie Fallen... it's nice to meet you, Yazoo..." she didn't know why, but it really was nice... meeting another one of Sephiroth's younger brothers seemed to have an affect of her, one she couldn't describe.
Looking over at the young silver haired man, Kyrie began to see the traits he possessed of Sephiroth's. His demeanour was cool and collected, yet rather alluring, he didn't look exactly like Sephiroth, he had his eyes and the same hair colour, so far... he looked more like Sephiroth than Kadaj did, she wondered what the last one looked like...
She couldn't help but stare, Kyrie began to wonder if he was aware of her connection with Sephiroth, he could probably sense it...
It was odd, she had really expected him to lash out and attack, but then again, he seemed to possess Sephiroth's calm personality. She already knew the answer to her next question, but she thought she'd at least try to converse.
"Why do you wish to find Jenova... if you don't mind me asking?"

"Likewise." The silver haired Remnant replied with what could have passed for a smile. He was once again confused by the saddness thickening her gaze. But, there was a stir of pity in the expression this time. Why would she pity me? The initial thought burned at the back of his mind but he quickly dissmissed it.
Yazoo opened his mouth to reply to the question of why he sought Jenova, but paused to truly think about his reply. The first reason that came to mind was the Reunion, and yet, Sepheroth was obviously back. So... why did he still seek Mother? He remembered something Kadaj had said, and wondered if his reasons were the same. "If Mother willed it, I would do anything."
"I suppouse it's because her cells are in my body and I want to see her for myself." He shrugged, causing his silver hair to fall off his shoulders.
Yazoo paused as the road ended abrubtly before him, replaced by a circular clearing leading up to the ruins of the old Mako Reactor. The place was in tatters: with rust eating away at the old steel walls. Most of them had actually collapsed and now lie in a pile of rusted metal. Time was truly hard on this old building.

With a sigh, Kyrie simply shook her head. See, that was something she just didn't understand, she had suffered from the stigma back then, Jenova's cells were within her, and yet... she didn't seek her? There was a time she came across her once, thinking that her mother had been reborn due to never meeting her when she was born...
"I guess... we both miss our mothers, huh?" she sighed, walking beside him. Unlike Yazoo, Kyrie knew who his possible biological mother was, and unlike him, she would never meet her mother, but for him to continuously believe that someone like Jenova was his mother... could she really keep the truth from him for that long?
In a sense, anyone could say that she cared for him, not just for being Sephiroth's brother, but he was a part of him... she cared for Kadaj, even the other brother she had not yet met, but above all three, she cared more for Sephiroth. When she heard of him speak of wanting to meet Jenova, she merely sighed.
"I don't think you'll be happy with what you see..." she murmured, quiet enough for him not to hear her. She continued to follow, well, she made it seem like she wasn't really following him, just aiding him, really. After a while, Kyrie began to wonder how Yazoo would react to knowing Jenova wasn't his mother... she hoped it wouldn't be the same as Sephiroth finding out who his mother was that time, Nibelheim didn't need to be destroyed again, people didn't need to be killed.
But until Sephiroth showed up or had words with his brothers, Kyrie would take care of them.

Yazoo shrugged once more, coming to a stop in front of what was left of the door leading to the inside. "I don't need to be pleased with what I see. I'm just terribly curious as to what I might find linked to Mother there. If I don't go, I'll proabably regret it later.
The door, covered in rust, hung from its hinges slightly, leaving only just enough room to see what was inside, yet not allowing him to enter. He tried to push the door open reguraly, but it refused to be moved. Curling a lip in annoyance, he pushed harder. Yet again, nothing. The silver haired Remnant took a step backward and slammed a booted foot into the center of the door.
The door collapsed inward, hitting the floor with a metallic bang. Looking rather pleased with himself, Yazoo turned back to Kyrie. "Coming?"

"You'll regret it even if you do..." she muttered as he walked off so it was impossible for him to hear her, she soon walked after him though after he knocked the door door, a sigh escaped her lips.
"I don't think it's possible that she's even here," she said softly, standing beside him as he walked in. Well, that confirmed it, he really did think Jenova was his Mother, just like Sephiroth did, she was surprised that it didn't lead Yazoo into insanity. Then again, he wasn't the one who'd been lied to... then again... right this moment Yazoo was being fed lies...
"Yazoo..." she said sadly, looking around the area... she couldn't take this much longer...

Yazoo raised single silver eyebrow, seeing her lips move, yet not detecting any sound. There was something she was hiding, obviously, but maybe it wasn't any of his concern.
The first thing that caught his attention was the numerous amount of what seemed to be former experimentation pods. They all were empty, as expected, yet he knew that they once held something interesting. A snigle gloved hand brushed away years of dust that had piled up on the small circular window that allowed him to see the inside. Unfortuntely, rather than merely floating into the air as he expected, he felt large amount of dust fly up his nose. Trying and failing to hold back a sneeze, he peered into the window. There was nothing, save for minor traces of Mako here and there.
Hearing his name, he turned back to Kyrie, seeing an almost troubled look cross her face. "Yes?"

Kyrie sighed, she was definitely going to have an angry remnant on her hands after this, there was no doubt Yazoo would try to kill her... but, it was better to be hurt by the truth, rather than given false hope by a lie. As much as she couldn't bring herself to do so... she had to tell him, no doubt it would upset him, but she'd be the one to deal with it...
"About... your mother..." she began, a saddened look appeared on her face as she looked at the feminine man, she felt bile rise in her throat, she was sure she was going to be sick, the anxiety that coursed through her body made her stomach turn. Looking at Yazoo's face, it only brought pain to her heart, a person's eyes never lied... and right now, Kyrie's proved that...
Sadness, pity and pain filled those silver orbs of hers as she gripped her arm gently, looking away from the look-a-like. With a tearful sigh, she shook her head, walking over to the broken steps and sitting down with her arms in her lap, head bowed sadly.
"She's not Jenova..."

He was in the Nibelheim reactor, gazing longingly at the empty tank that was one Jenova's prison. This place bore horrid memories for him. It was here that Cloud had first stabbed him; with Zack's sword at that. And it had been here that he had died once before... The ghost of the pain echoed in his buzzing mind as he visualized Jenova.
If she had still been here, what would have happened? What if she had remained here, and not been bothered by Shin-ra any further? What if he had found her sooner? Then he may have been able to get her away and hide with her... There were just so many 'what if' questions... And they would never be answered. He searched his mind desperately, seeking that thread that connected him with Jenova. But it had been fading quickly after she vanished... He could find almost no trace of her presence anymore...
His thoughts were disturbed by two voices in the room behind the closed door into the room. Irritation boiled in his veins. Why did Kyrie always have to show up at the worst possible moment?! It was really starting to annoy him now. But the anger faded as a familiar presence reached his senses. "Yazoo...?" he whispered to himself. what was his brother doing here?
Sephiroth walked to the door and pressed a button to open it. It slid open rather quietly, though it was definitely showing signs of age. Looking down at the two familiar figures from the top of the stairs, he was just in time to hear Kyrie's words...
About your mother... She's not Jenova...
Rage burned within his dark heart. Kyrie was a liar... Jenova was Yazoo's mother. His mother was Lucrecia, but Yazoo had been bred from both the Nightmare and Jenova's cells. Technically, Yazoo didn't have parents, as he was merely a remnant. But Jenova was the closest thing to a mother he had, or would ever have. And now Kyrie was trying to take that last hope that Yazoo clung to away from him.
In a tightly controlled voice, he said to them,"Yazoo, don't listen to Kyrie. Jenova is your mother. But... Jenova isn't mine. but that is a story to tell later. You are still my brother, and always will be." He glared at Kyrie. "Don't you dare spread such lies to my brothers, Kyrie..." He hissed irritably.
