The Curse of Demons(OPEN)

[Elstan Shadow]

Night had fallen over the lands of Gaia. Silence was all around, not even a cricket could be heard singing in the undergrowth. Suddenly, the low hum of helicopter propellers sounded in the distance and gradually got louder. Dust kicked up from the ground as the wind from the blades hit the floor. The helicopter belonged to the ShinRa company, in particular the group called SOLDIER.

In the helicopter, there was one lone woman. Her hair was as silver as the moonlight's glow, her eyes green and cat-like, botton lip was pierced with two rings. The Assassin division of SOLDIER, and head of that division was Master Assassin, Elstan Marie Shadow. The silver haired girl checked all her weapons, and a voice sounded over the intercom. "SOLDIER Assassin ready for deployment!" It said. Elstan opened the door, her hair blew everywhere, due to the wind from the propellers. She jumped out of the helicopter and landed on the floor, crouching to take the impact. She stood up and watched the helicopter fly off.


Before she left HQ, she was briefed that Wuti troops had been after a certain, mythical creature to take on ShinRa. Elstan had never believed in fairytales, not even when she was just a child. This creature went by the name Baphemont. She sighed. It was kinda stupid sending her here just to kill troops in search of a being that didn't exist. She pushed these thoughts aside and went into the Northern Cave.

Due to her eyes, Elstan could see rather well in the dark, but sometimes had to strain her eyes. She heard voices, and very quietly released her hidden blades, one on each wrist. She saw two Wuti troops, very stealthily she walked up behind them, and without hesitation pierced her blades through their necks, giving them and instant death. "Amatures." She whispered. Elstan heard something and backed away into the darkness and listened out for any conversation.

[Reydaitso]

"Get back to work!" The guard yelled at him befor giving the back of his chair a forceful kick. The force of which caused it to lurch forward and slam his abdamin into the desk he was sitting at. Well, it wasn't so much a desk as a make shift table that had been set up hastily. When the raggedy table was hit, it caused the numurous papers atop it to flutter into the air, some falling to the floor. After righting himself, and the table, Rey leaned down to pick up the fallen documents.

The guard, unamused by his captives lack of rebutle to being harrased, decided to walk back some distance and resume his post of watching the man. It had been a couple of days since Rey had been kidnapped off the streets. The captores had kept a bag over his head the whole trip to the destination. He assumed they must not of wanted him to know where he was. Unfortunately for them, Rey had read all the reports of his predicesor Dr.Hojo., and could tell where he was by the incredible match of discription.

When they had got him to the crater, they thrust a bunch of papers at him and simply told him to figure it out. They didn't say what it was he was figuring, but seemed persistant that he do it. Most of what he had read were stories, the kind you tell children. They each had a slightly different feal to them, but were mostly the same. Some were actually of scientific interest, though the lack of information in them made them all but useless. He had personally been stalling for as long as he could, hoping that Shin-Ra would notice his apsence.

What troubled him the most was the equipment they removed from him upon kidnapping. The bulk of it was experimental Shin-Ra tech made by him. If they broke it down, they could douplicate it. It could cost him his job, and worse yet many people their lives.

[Elstan Shadow]

Elstan saw some of Hojo's workers. She somersaulted off the ledge she was standing on and sprinted behind another rock! She decided, because it was ShinRa, her allies, she came out of her hiding place. "Well this is surprise." She said. The men turned around and looked at her. "Master Assassin, Elstan Shadow." One said. "So what are the geeks up to this time? Don't play silly buggers with me, it won't work." She said. The silver haired woman sighed. "Well unlike you guys I have some real work to do." She said and left them to it. However, she stopped dead
in her tracks when she noticed someone, someone she had saw in the streets. She looked at the scientists. "So this is what that madman has gotten you to do?! Kidnap innocent humans off the streets?" She said, anger in her voice. Her cat-like eyes were cold and showed no emotion towards the scientists. Elstan walked up to the young man. "Hello I am SOLDIER Master Assassin, Elstan Marie Shadow." She said, her eyes now warm and full of pity for the man. "I will come back for you. I promise." She said the whispered in his ear, "But you're welcome to come with me." She said her voice only audible to him.

It wasn't long before Elstan came upon more Wutai troops. "We found it! We found the seal!" They shouted. Elstan knew it was too risky to show herself, instead she pulled out a small brown bag from the inside of her coat. The bag was full of a purplish green powder. A poison, more deadly than any other, and when it made contact with the skin, it would make the target go into an immediate drunken like state and die within seconds. Elstan waited in the darkness, waiting for her opportune moment.

Rey had decided that if he was going to escape it was mostly likely with the help of SOLDIER. He had been following Elstan, when she pressed herself against a wall. Being a bit behind her, he waited to know what she was hidding from. Then he heard the Wutai guards. "We found it! We found the seal!" From what he had been researching he knew that wasnt good. But wasn't it just a myth?

Without a second thought Rey rushed past Elstan toward the guards. "I have had a break through in my research!" He screamed at them in a phoney hystaria. "The seal, it's tempermental, you must be cautious!" He then began to blab on about some nonesence, hoping Elstan could use the distraction to her benifit.

[Elstan Shadow]

Elstan covered her face with a black scarf. The Wuti troops were distracted, but not for long. As graceful as she was, Elstan tripped up and fell. The seal's inverted pentagram started to glow a scarlet colour. A beast emerged. The body of a man but the head of a goat. "You humans dare disturb my ten thousand year slumber?" He growled, anger present in his deep, sinister voice. He then looked towards Elstan. "The sister of Sephiroth. The one who can destroy JENOVA. My brothers foresaw your coming." The creature said. A Wuti troop looked angered. "I was told I was the Chosen One." He said. Baphemont looked at him. "You mortal scum don't have the strength, nor power to defeat that calamity." Baphemont said. "Four shall arise and be given the power of the Horsemen!" Baphemont said. He gave a mighty roar and the troops scattered.

With the troops gone, Elstan removed her make-shift mask. "You Shadow will be blessed with the power of Death himself. However there is a price to pay for having this gift. Anger, sorrow and hatred will turn you into Death. There is three opposite things that can change you back. Love, friendship and family." Baphemont said. He breathed in and exhaled on her. Clouds of souls and skulls flew around her and the absorbed into her body. Baphemont then turned to Rey. "You are to make sure she finds the other three!" He said, and with that he went back into his slumber.

Rey watched, partly in awe and part revolting fear. From all he knew, this thing shouldnt exist. Maybe a summon from materia, or anouther creature from space like jenova, but a actual demon!? When it turned to him, he felt the blood in his veins go cold. As it spoke to him he could do little but listen so intently to every word.

As it vanished Rey turned to Elstan, hesitent to get too close as the thing had done something to her. "Are you alright?" he spoke as he slowly approched her.
