Basic Do's and Don'ts (UPDATED)

GENERAL RULES
Regarding activity: Please try and remain active, whether it be through RPing or OOC interactions. If you cannot participate for whatever reason, please be polite enough to post in the Departures board, or contact anyone you might be RPing with at the time to inform them of your absence. We understand that you all have real life school/work/family to deal with. Do not harass someone if they aren't replying to you for a day or two.
Cursing is permitted; please try to keep it PG-13 as to not deter younger members from participating. If you are offended by such language, try to take it up with your partners before bringing it to the attention of an admin.
BE RESPECTFUL. If you have trouble with any of the members, contact a member of staff. Troublemakers will be dealt with. Do not harass, bully, insult any member for any reason. Harassing someone for a reply falls under this- people do have jobs and school to deal with as well. Their world doesn't revolve around replying to one RP post. Also don't harrass the admins over trivial issues. If we need to get involved, we will, but we're not going to ban someone for swearing or having bad typing skills.
SPELLCHECK, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND GLORIOUS (such as Sephiroth's hair), use spellcheck!! I find typing my reply in a Word document before posting it sometimes helps me catch things I would otherwise miss. In the recent years many browsers now come with spellcheck as well!
No chat/text speak in either RP boards or OOC boards. I personally cannot read text speak. I am not fluent in it. I don't expect a lot of people here to be. Things like “LOL” and stuff like that that are mostly used for expression are fine but I don't want a post like “I dun no wut u r talkin bout”... While you will not be punished severely for it, you will be verbally warned every time I see this.
ALL CONVERSATIONS IN THE OOC BOARDS WILL BE PG-13 OR LESS! If you want to have an adult conversation, take it to the PMs. Harmless jokes and insinuations are perfectly fine, but anything more than that should be kept out of view of anyone under the legal age.
Obey the admin staff. Any disregard for their requests/decisions will result in an immediate 3 day ban.
Account Activation is required. If for some reason you do not activate your new account within two weeks of signing up, you will be deleted. You will not be able to post or participate in anything unless your account is activated.
CONCERNING ACCOUNTS AND THE NUMBER OF CHARACTERS USERS MAY PLAY
Only one (1) character per account.
Only three (3) accounts per user. Members of staff can view IP addresses, so you WILL be found out.
A maximum of ONE cannon character per user. If for some reason you REALLY want a character that hasn't been taken but you already have a canon, this must be directly approved by DezzyBee, and you must have a proven track record in order to earn it.
You may not role-play all by yourself (e.g. Character1 posts, then Character2 posts, then Character1 posts again). Where is the fun in that??!!
If a character is striked-out on the available characters list, they are NOT available, regardless of whether their player is role playing at the time or not. Make sure you check the list first.
IF in the rare case you play two characters that are in the same RP you MAY use just one account to post. I know it's a pain to switch between accounts to switch between characters. However do yourself, and your admins a favor by Disclaiming it in the VERY FIRST post you make. And try to only use one post for both characters, if at all possible.
The list of punishment for any rule-breaking goes as followed:
- User will be verbally warned through PM.
- User account will be disabled for one (1) day.
- User account will be disabled for three (3) days.
- Deletion of user account and site ban.
This set is used for each individual rule. For example, if you disrespect someone you'll get a verbal warning, and any similar transgression will end in the next highest punishment, however if you break a separate rule, you'll get a verbal warning for that one instead of the next punishment up.
There is a 90 period for all transgressions... after 90 days of the incident your board is wipe clean and you start over. However if it becomes a repeated issue, we will not take it lightly.
