Inspiration

Not that anyone seems to really answer these questions if they even read them ^_^; but here's another question-type discussion thing. I want to make this sort of a bi-daily thing... For those of you who don't know I have extreme interest in psychology, so this gives me a chance to 'people watch' without actually having to go down to a public place and STARE! Also this is the type of thing I'm planning on building contests and various events around when I finally get to that point!
I'm a novel writer. I have three or four going right now that I'm sort of in-between projects with. I have this tendency to get bored of writing (usually when my work schedule gets hectic, which happens any time someone quits/gets fired/walks out/calls in sick/dies/etc/etc/etc.) and then for a little while I stop writing on a story... then eventually my inspiration comes back to me and BAM I start it up again. I MOSTLY write romantic/erotic fiction, but I also write in the realms of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I also (very rarely) write fanfiction, and I like writing in my blog and I have a shit ton of short stories that are just lying on my computer.
My inspiration from these things comes from just about anywhere... a song, a story I hear, a movie I watch, a voice I hear even when I'm at work... and no not a voice in my head. Like I have a coworker with an AWESOME southern accent that just moved up here recently, and his voice inspired a character in my head.
It's the same with my roleplaying. Unfortunately, before I start writing I HAVE to find mood music that matches the scene and write to that... otherwise it just doesn't FEEL right, no matter how good the post actually is. I need to FEEL my post... which is at times why my posts are short... I used to write much longer posts but for some reason I'm struggling to get back into Dezzy's head as of late.
So where do you guys get your inspiration for what you do? Whether it's writing, art, music, or roleplaying, I know inspiration comes from SOMEWHERE, I'm just curious as to where everyone else gets theirs
