Necromancers.
When someone says the word, what do you first think?
"Impossible", you might say. "Reanimation of bodies can't be scientifically done". And indeed, you might be right to come to this conclusion-- not even ShinRa, with all it's vast stores of wealth and impressive scientific technology, has succeeded to come up with a method of bringing back the dead. It should be at best improbable.
And yet it is possible. And it is happening.
A new strain of genes found in the blood of a select few have the capability of reassembling dead tissue; but only DNA that has been infected with Jenova cells. This is both a great blessing and a threat, for if this skill was utilized improperly, the results could be catastrophic. The potential to do great damage to the already fragile Gaia could be immense.
A handful of these children and young adults labeled with the title of "NECROMANCER" have been found already by ShinRa scientists and experimented on, but how many more are out there on the streets? How many unknowing individuals are being targeted by dark forces?
Malicious powers are beginning to stir in ancient places buried in thick layers of dust and long forgotten by mankind-- several sightings of unknown beasts have already been reported. Death rates have been steadily rising as more and more people go mysteriously missing...
Yet more reports have been of a trio of silver-haired men have been pouring in from all over the continent, the most recent being in Edge. Their pattern of activity suggests that they're searching for something... but what...?

Urban Junkyard is an Indermediate to Advanced roleplay site, set several years after the events in Advent Children. All original characters are welcome, and Canons are up for grabs.
(Pardon the roughness: I'm working on refining the skin, icons, etc, which might take a while.)
