Alex smiled and nodded, and ran on ahead. "I had a vision that Sephiroth came up this way and down into the basement. I know he's there, because this was a very recent vision. Only 24 hours have passed since the vision had happened, perhaps even less. So, we aren't that far away from the actual time it had happened. He couldn't have left the building without be having seen it, so we're gonna find him, I'm sure of it!" Alex ran on ahead to the stairwell behind the wall. He pushed the loose brick that opened the wall to the stairs. He began desending. Angeal followed Alex down the stairs while explaining to Cal what was going on. Alex has been getting visions of the past sice he arrived in Neiblehiem. I got one too, but all it was was Cloud killing a bomb, and that's not too important. Then, when we were in the reactor, Alex was somehow "possesed". He started to walk towards a door that had a thousand foot drop behind it. Angeal continued. Then he just got that vision. It's unlike Alex to get visions from past years. Usually, they're from the future or the recent past, kind of like the one he just got. I'm confused about it. I've never seen him like this before. So, I'm preparing for whatever's in store for us ahead.Angeal kept walking, not sure if he had passed Alex or not. This are was definetly familiar though. It was like he had walked through here, but not actually been there. It was his first time in Shinra Manor, so he knew he hadn't been here before. It was almost like they were in a dream...

Alex continued to run down the stairwell. Jogging as he reached the bottom, he slowed his pace, letting both Cal and Angeal close in. But, the temptation was killing him. He proceeded on, and another vision of Sephiroth came to him. Sephiroth was walking through the basement halls, and stopped in front of a room. He looked in, and saw an empty cript. He moved on into the laboratory beyond, and once he woke up from the vision, so did Alex.

Cal looked at Angeal, with a strange sense of Daja Vu. True, he'd been in Nieblheim long ago, back when it hadn't been destroyed by sephiroth, but his career as a Turk wasn't what made him feel as if he'd been here before. Of course, he was a powerful psychic, but he couldn't recall any visions of this place in recent years. Why did he feel... as if he'd been here recently? It made no sense...
"Well, knowing a considerable amount about psychic visions, it sounds like our friend Alex here is experiencing what Cloud experienced before, and myself included. People with a certain amount of Jenova cells can sometimes lead others into traps or force their bodies to move in ways they want to. I can do this, to some degree, but I'm not quite as adept as Pryme or Sephiroth... to experience what Alex is feeling, though, that's easy for me. Right now, he's being led by another's thoughts, not necessarily controlled......"
Cal watched Alex move onward. Clearly, he was being led by someone else... possibly even Sephiroth. Attempting to probe Alex's mind, Cal found himself in the midst of the vision, only to be blocked out with an accompanying sense of excruciating pain.... "AHHHGH!!"
Cal fell to one knee. "n-not good. There is another... stronger... mind nearby. He's using us..."
Cal stood up, and rushed over to Alex. "What's going on?!?"

Cal was on the floor in an instant and Alex looked like he had just had another vision. What's going on? Angeal thought to himslef. There was a smashing noise and the dim lights in the hallway went out. There was someone else in the basement, and it definetly wasn't a copy doing everything. There was something stronger then that. Something that knew they were here, and what they were looking for. It had to be Sephiroth. There was nno one else that could do that. Angeal ran past the other two as he heard Cal asking Alex what was going on. He ran past the open coffin. Vincent...As Angeal continued into the laboratory, he sensed that Alex and Cal were gone. Either that or they were to far back for him to get any reading on them. It was unnatural...

Alex saw Angeal rush ahead, so Alex did, past where Angeal went. He charged into the laboratory, his blade out. He looked around viciously, looking for whatever caused the noise. From what he could see, nothing but a mouse. Then, a flash of light flew past him, and into the study in the back. Alex rushed after the flash, and saw an opening in the wall. He progressed in, following whatever he could of a hallway.
((OOC: Okay, you guys can follow Alex, or stay by Vincent's coffin. Your choice.))

Cal began writhing on the floor in agony. No way could anyone be this dominating mentally. He was fighting to keep control of his body, but losing. Cal summoned all of his strength, and finally, he was able to force the interloper out of his head. Standing, Cal looked around. It seemed as if he was somewhere else, but still in the same place. Angel and Alex were both gone, but it began to become clear to him. Whoever was here, if it was sephiroth, wanted them apart. This other entity was creating an illusory maze. Everything that had happened so far was completely unreal, and since Nieblheim is no longer in such good condition, it was definately a magical illusion. Unfortunately, magic was not his forte, therefore he must play along with the illusion to escape the maze.
"Hmmmm...." Cal began to think. How would someone, who's eyes are clearly not reliable right now, escape from a potential death trap and save his friends? Cal began hoping they didn't fall prey to their own senses.
Cal looked around. He was still in the hallway, but he could see the library just ahead. He was definately right, to some degree. Even if it wasn't an illusion, the others were nowhere to be... wait. No, they were probably all relatively close. They were just blinded from eachother's sight. Hopefully, they wouldn't think that they were the enemy, and attack eachother. Last time Cal went through that, he'd leveled an entire complex before Pryme stole his power. He wouldn't survive a fight with either Angeal or Alex at this point, therefore he had to use his head.
Cal could sense them both. Alex ahad run through something farther ahead, while Angeal was somewhere behind him, milling about near vincent's crypt. Dammit. He knew that only telekinesis would solve the issue, and a few well placed clues to help them out. Cal tore apart books to make a note, and sent it flying in Angeal's direction. Cal folowed Alex, hoping that this wouldn't be his last day alive. Casting protect and shield on himself, while putting a psychic barrier around himself to avoid any psionic attacks, Cal walked through the doorway that Alex so eagerly went through, which appeared to him as a mouth of razor sharp teeth.
((OOC: I don't know why, but it just seemed appropriate to include it as an illusion. Maybe my character's going crazy, but I'm just imagining it all play out like a videogame, where we all fight our way through our own personal battles, and then meet up to kill a badguy. IDK, maybe i've just played too much final fantasy.))
the note: "Angeal. This seems to be a place crafted of illusion. Go into the library and follow alex. If you get the sense that something worse is happening, don't go through if you think it might kill you. Good luck."

What is this?Angeal picked up the letter and read it. So thats whats going on. Now it all made sense. They were each in a different illusion, or at least Cal was, and Alex was having visions. But that still left him. What was going to happen? Were clones of Sephiroth going to show up, or would he fall into a black endless hole? Angeal was confused. How come he wasn't affected? Was it because he never really died in the first place and was still alve? Or was there a deeper purpose? The only way to find out was to follow Alex and Cal into the next room. And maybe he would find out. OOC: Angeal then walks into the room. you two can pick up after that

Alex didn't have an overlooming sense over him any longer, and the visions stopped. He could tell there was something else in the room. Alex saw a hole in the wall and began to follow it. There was a grand amount of tunnels, that seemed to go on for a while. He went down the closest one too him, that headed west. He beckoned for Angeal and Cal to follow him, because the strength of Sephiroth's true power was this way.

Cal followed Alex's thoughts. Instead of finding himself in a series of tunnels however, he found himself in a big room that looked much like a cathedral. There was no one around, at all, and no exits or entryways. Cal looked around, attempting to find a way out, even punching the wall or screaming as loud as he could. Cal unleashed his latent power, creating a massive explosion, but to no avail. Nothing happened.
But then, at the altar, a luminescent spectre of human-like shape appeared. It seemed, to Cal anyway, that Sephiroth was not working alone. "What are you?"
"I am what will end your life. You will not escape this room, and your friends will meet their fate soon enough."
"...." Cal sighed. He didn't plan on dying, but whatever this creature was, it was obviously too strong for physical attacks to work. "Well, you've met your match then, thoughtform. Whatever sent you here to kill me obviously forgets that I am one of the strongest psychics on the planet."
"Fool. I am stronger than you can fathom. Your powers have been stripped from you. You are weak."
"I guess we'll find out, then."
Then, the mercenary and the glowing white being began their battle. As the narrator, I'd like to describe the sort of spectacle that occured in that room, but to do so would require the aid of vivid imagry, which would only bore you when explained in words. In short, I will say this. Cal defeated his enemy, but at the cost of his physical body. Looking at his own ashes where his body once was, the astral form of Cal stared in disbelief. "Am I dead? wait.... no, I'm still here, in astral form. But my body... GODDAMMIT!!!! Well, at least my sword is still there, but I'm almost completely useless now. At least... physically. I still have my telekinesis. Hmm.... Well, I need to find the others. Thankfully, Illusions won't work when you're dead... Ahhh...."
Cal couldn't believe he was dead. For now, he'd just have to exist metaphysically. He'd of couarse bring his sword, but to make use of it much would prove more folly than success. He'd just have to find a way to get a new body, or get his old one back. Whatever... that wasn't important. What mattered was stopping their new enemy. He may not feel the pleasure of snapping their neck, but he could still do some damage. Maybe even more than normal. He sensed Alex's presence, and flew, invisible except for the floating sword which acted as his avatar, in the direction of the ancient being at lighning speeds. Well, at least Alex would understand his plight, for it wasn't the first time scenarios like this have played out. He hoped, anyway.

OOC: Yeah... I don't know why I killed cal... Maybe it's because I saw watchmen today, and felt a little like he could do more if he wasn't physically alive... for now.
But yeah, watchmen kicks ass. You need to see it, if you haven't allready. But also, I'm working on a sprite comic, just cuz I'm bored... but I'll probably post it when I finish.

Angeal walked into the library behind Alex. Everything was quiet. Almost too quiet. It was natural for an empty house to be quiet like this, but it was dead silent.
Alex, is Sephiroth here? If he is, we have to kill him now and get it over with.
Was Alex listening to him? Or was he still in a trance? There was no way of telling unless he turned around.
And where had Cal gone? He was probably still stuck in that illusion that he had put in the note. Either that or he was actually dead. That wouldn't have been good. They would all have to be alive if they had any chance of defeating Sephiroth. Angeal and Alex could beat him alone, but would probably die trying...

Alex had noticed Angeal, but didn't care at the moment. Cal was stuck in the room before him, and Alex had no way of getting him out. So, Alex ran in a different direction, trying to find a different door. He found one, and burst into it. An empty room, but the door slammed shut after him.
