Alex took his hand off Kaida's shoulder. He didn't look to her, but he still spoke. "I know how you feel." He admitted. "In my first fight against Karri, my family had been killed. I believe it was of mass murder that she had emploied before our fight, but I couldn't be sure." He shook the thought of their first encounter away. "That's in the past now, and this is the future. We've gotta look up towards the sky, and feel the pressence of holiness in the clouds." His vision hadn't been draw from the fields. He stood up when he heard a noise at the door.
Thinking defesively, he quickly stood in front of Kaida's bed, shielding her with his body. A voice came from behind it. "Hey, boy!" The voice began. "First thing tomorrow morning, you get to work! Don't comply, and the other three get it!" Alex was taken aback and stunned by the statement. Then, food came through a small opening in the door. It looked alright, but looked cold. Chicken and some lettice scraps, mixed with some peppers and cheese. Alex picked up the two trays provided, and put them on the table, pulled a chair over, and began to silently eat. It tasted okay.

Kaida nodded calmly, realizing that he had pretty much said, though more eloquently, what her sisters would have told her. She heard the sound at the door, almost getting ready to stand up until Alex moved in front of her. He was too close to her bed for her to stand up comfortably.
She looked at the food with disgust. She hated chicken with a passion and the site of it made her stomach roll, and lettuce always got her sick to her stomach. She ate the cheese and peppers though. It wasn't bad, though she would have liked to have some type of meat. She went and laid on her bed. "I wonder what they're going to do with all of us? Are we of any actual use to them, or do they just pick up random people?" she wondered out loud

Dezzy looked at the little girl. "There's no guarantee it was you fault... I believe they were just waiting for all of us to get together. Even if you had waited for us in the ruins of Midgar, they still might have caught us," she told her. "It's not a good thing to blame others for something neither you or they can control. Trust me, I know from personal experience. I used to blame others for a lot of things. Then I fell in love with the one that I had once considered the person who killed my friends and family. I should have hated him, blamed him for my misery and loneliness, but I loved him more than life itself... I even gave my life for him, only to be recreated into this body. I don't think I could ever love him again, at least not like I used to, but I learned that not everyone is as evil as they seemed from it."
She sighed softly, waiting for some inspiration of escape to come to her.

Food flew in from under the door. Cold chicken, lettice, cheese, and peppers. There was a noise at the door. "So I understand you're that boy's little sister?" The voice chuckled. "Sorry, but he might not live the rest of the week!"
Maria ran to the door and started banging on it. "What did you do to him! Dammit! Tell me!" The voice laughed, and began to walk away. Maria punched the wall, then slid to her knees, tears bursting from her face. "Dammit..." She couldn't believe what the man had said. She sat at the table that was nearby the beds, and put her head over her arms on the table. "Why?"

Alex saw that Kaida didn't eat any more than the cheese and peppers. He laid down on his bed, and began to relax. "I think they've waited for me." Alex admitted after Kaida finished. "They've been after me since I killed Karri. They were the summoners of some monsters I fought earlier. These people followed Karri as her diligent servents. Now that their leader is gone, the seek revenge on me. In all honesty, I deserve this. This shall be my reckoning to them, but I will not die for a silly reason as this. They will be regretting with my friends and my sister."
Alex clenched his fist, but relaxed, and looked over to his friend. "I know this really isn't my place to poke at, but have you ever loved someone outside your family?" Alex sat up, turned, and faced out the window. "I have, and now she's in the biggest trouble that she's ever been in..." He trailed off from there, lost in the amazement of the now stary night.

Damani sighed, standing up with hands on her hips, staring down at the food. She put a tray in front of Maria. "Eat. We need to keep our strength up, and keep our senses about us if we're going to get through this in one piece. Alex can take care of himself. They're underestimating all of us greatly, and that will be their most fatal flaw," she said, sitting down and digging into her food. She had long since got used to nasty tasting food, and even no food at all. It was better than nothing, and she knew she needed the food if she was going to be at full power when she took her vengeance on the idiots that were putting them through this. She put her hand on Maria's shoulder and swallowed her food before saying; "We're going to get out of this all right. I was raised a fighter and eventually came an assassin. I may not be one anymore, but I can still fight, and I will get us out of here if I have to do it by myself."

Maria slowly raised her head. She stared at the disgusting food, and began to toy around with it with her fork, circling around it. She was so upset over what that man had said, and couldn't bear thinking of her brother being put into and trouble. But, Dezzy was right: Alex could take care of himself. She chuckled. "If I've learned anything from the stories I've heard of him," She said, looking up to Dezzy. "He'll have destroied the very center of Hell and still have enough energy to last him ten years." She frowned. "But, I've also heard that he's become the very center of evil that he was set out to destroy. Is that true?"
As she asked, she finished her food, and sat on her bed. She looked eagerly to Dezzy. "He couldn't do that... He wouldn't be that way..." She looked at her, a tear starting to form. "Would he?"

Kaida looked at Alex. "I've never loved anyone, actually..." she replied simply, studying him curiously. She wasn't sure she had ever really loved her family, considering her family consisted of two angels and a god. Cared about them, yes. Envied them, most certainly. But she couldn't say she actually 'loved' them. "I was created not to really feel love toward the humans I protect. I must be able to be compassionate, but not too the point that I can't kill the humans that threaten the innocents."

Dezzy paused to think before she answered, taking a couple bites of food. "That's true in it's own way, but at the same time it's a lie. Yes, he has become dark, but his light and his darkness balances out, makes him a more powerful fighter. I know he'll never use that power for any evil purpose, there's too much good in him, I'm sure of it," she said, nodding decisively. "Holy is a powerful thing, trust me, I've seen the damage I do with my Holy elemental magic. My Thunder magic might be more powerful in the sense that it's my main element and Holy is technically my less-powerful element... but it's more destructive than any other magic I've seen or read about."
She took a few more bites and leaned back a little bit. "Holy is the most powerful element out there, if only because not only can it be used offensively but also defensively. You can create shields with it, or like Kaida can do, heal with it," she said with a small smile. "You don't know how many times that girl's saved my life. Alex as well... I owe a lot to him. More than I'd normally admit to anyone about anyone else. I'd die if it would save or even minutely help the two of them."

Alex nodded. He could understand that. "I've always had a specific love for all humans. They need me there to help them in times of need, whether they have a purpose or not. I've helped more grannies get cats out of trees than years I've been alive." He frowned. "But, I've never loved one specific person." He looked down. "I've out-lived all of my friends, and the ones I very much cared for. But, I guess time had to take it's toll."
He shook it away, but his frown remained. Looking up to Kaida, he thought. What's this feeling I have? It's something special that I've never felt before. What? His eyes widened, then he turned his head away from her. "We should sleep. That guard said I had to do some work tomorrow, so I'd better get my energy up." He laid down, and faced the wall. "If something spooks you tonight, I'm right here. ((OOC: Hint Hint)) Good night, Kaida." Alex slept, oddly thinking of how stupid he sounded.

Maria smiled, and laid her head on the pillow. Now she felt very tired. Yawning, she looked to Dezzy. "I'm sure my big brother wouldn't let anything happen to that other girl, Kaida." She smiled, and slowly closed her eyes. "I'm sure he'll come and get us, too." Now, she was suddenly wide awake. She looked at Dezzy with a big grin. "Dezzy?" She began. She moved back to the table, and looked around. "Are you in love with my brother?" She had seen how Dezzy acted when Alex was nearby. "Don't say you don't know, because I've seen you two together!"

Dezzy blushed, looking in the opposite direction of the little girl. "W-why would I be in love with a doofus like him!" she exclaimed, thinking of all the reasons why she wouldn't be in love with him, as well as the strange feelings she always got around him. Could she be in love with her mentor? She had only felt true love one time in her life, and it had been very different from what she felt around him. She chewed on the inside of her cheek in thought. "I... I never thought about it, really... I haven't had time to, really... we were separated for a couple of weeks and when we finally met in Junon, we head straight to Kalm... We've only been traveling together the past two or three days together, and now all of this is happening..."

Kaida smiled and nodded. "Yeah... I guess... The last thing we need to do is not be at full strength, especially since we don't know what's going to happen now," she said, sitting on her bed. "I don't spook easily, so don't worry much about me."
She laid down, turning to her side and curling up in her normal fetal position that she always slept in. Her tight ball made her feel comfortable, more secure and protected. She had always slept like that since she was a child, and like an armadillo every single morning, she found herself uncurling from that very same position. She sighed, the events of the past few hours running through her head. It worried her, being separated from Dezzy and Maria. Who knew what their captors were going to do with them.

Maria smiled, and looked to Dezzy sarcastically. "Oh, sure, you don't love him. I mean, he's way out of your league." Her smile got bigger. "I see you blushing." Giggling, she went over to her bed. "I just hope I don't have to call you my sister-in-law any time soon!" She laughed at this, and laid down. She sighed. "I really do hope he's okay. I don't want to see him hurt, at all. It scares me to think of what they'll do to him tomorrow..." She trailed off, her smile had faded away. "I'm worried."
She curled up under the covers. Tired more than ever, she closed her eyes. "Good night, Dezzy." She said, yawning. There was so much going through her head, and she didn't know what to think of it all. Her brother, Dezzy, Kaida, they were all in trouble with her, but she knew her brother would save them all. She reformed her smile, and slept.

((OOC: I'm just gonna skip to the morning.))
Morning came, and Alex was awoken by the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. He jolted up, put on his overshirt and shoes, and went to the door. Kaida was still sleeping, and that's all that mattered to him at the moment. The footsteps stopped at the door, and Alex spoke before the man could open it. "Wait." He began. "Don't burst the door open. This girl needs her rest. I'll go quietly if you do also. I don't wish for her sleep to be disturbed."
"Very well, but do a good job today." The man responded, silently opening the door. Alex walked out, put looked back to Kaida. He nodded slowly, and walked out of the room with the guard. He led Alex to a door that went out into the plains. As they left, Alex could see hundreds of trees being cut down. "Listen, boy. You need to help us cut down these trees if you want your friends will live."
Alex nodded, and the guard gave him his swords. He noticed that their magical feelings were gone. He also saw that Kaida, if she were awake, could look out the window and see him. He let it go, and began to walk to a vacant tree. Once there, he began to work away at its base, making it fall quickly. He ran to the end of the tree's designated fall point, and grabbed onto the tree, and set it down silently. He didn't want it to wake Kaida.
A bullet flew into Alex's left shoulder. He let out a yell of pain. Grasping his arm, he looked to one of the people who had taken him and Kaida away from Maria and Dezzy. "Sister wouldn't have approved of that, Alexander." Alex was taken aback by the man's statement. "Let the trees fall as the go. Then, all will be well." One of the guards had shot Alex as a way of getting his attention, and Alex went back to work.
