For a moment the silver streaked SOLDIER's gaze soften as she murmured. "Embrace your dreams..." she then looked away, speaking up slightly "My father gave up his dreams for me and I know the effects it had on him, giving up your own... I can already see where your life is heading..."
She shook her head, breaking free from her sentimental thoughts. "Your father sits upon his throne of lies that he built for himself thinking he's some sort of invincible king, he strikes fear into the hearts of others and blackmails them into working for him... It's these reasons why SOLDIER nor the Turks go against him, he knows they're strong enough and what do you do with a wild chocobo? You break it just so you can use it," she muttered, contemplating her thoughts.
"In truth, my father has high hopes for me... but I don't know what he wants my future to be, I owe him for everything he's done for me and I constantly wonder if what I do in life is the right thing," she sighed, pushing back some of her hair in her face, it was then an idea struck her, she turned to look at the blonde. "If we do this, I want access to my father's files, I want people to know who he was, I want to regain his honor back for him so people will remember because according to Shinra, he's a deserter and that disrespects his memory - he did more for the people than that fat fuck ever did... If I am to ask for anything, it's that, I don't care about gil."
She looked at him, though as if by accident, instead of just glancing at him like she use to do, for the first time ever she actually... LOOKED, stared even... Paying attention to every detail on his face, seeing how his blue--beautiful blue eyes watched her, almost as if she was seeing herself through his eyes, as if she could understand how he was feeling at that moment. Her left eye shimmered silver as the moonlight peeked in a hit that single eye whilst her right eye remained blue. What was this?
Suddenly, she came to her senses and composed herself before speaking once more. "At best, he cannot know about this, for now act like the perfect son..." she spoke, keeping her tone under control despite her mind wondering slightly...
What was that sudden spark?

Rufus nodded his consent. "If that's what you want, that's what you can have," he said simply, stretching a bit and giving a sigh. He barely noticed the moonlight changing her eye before he blinked and it was gone. Must have been his imagination. "I better get back before they realize I'm gone and start a city-wide manhunt for me. Thank you, Kyrie. Go talk to Dezzy. She'll be able to get you that file you want, and anything else information-wise you might need. She's pretty much got everything in the Shinra databases in one of her computers... though I shudder to think of how she got it."
He smiled and started heading towards the door. "I'll explain more as things fall into place, right now we're hung up on a few details because my lovely assistant keeps getting distracted by a certain red head..."

Looking towards the door, she realised how late it must've been, however, upon hearing his announcement of his departure, she couldn't help but feel... something, but she wasn't sure what. She considered going after him or even protesting but she realised how foolish it would be for her to even try, this wasn't like her... The more he was around her, the more she felt changed, she cursed him for doing this to her. At the same time she thought about running him through but then other thoughts came to mind, not ones that would so much as make her blush, but ones which were plaguing... hard to understand, she knew what they meant but why? Why her? Why now? Just... why?
She stood there conflicted without a word, though by the time she went to say something she had noticed he was barely in sight.
"What are you doing to me...?" she breathed, her heart suddenly increasing in rate. This wasn't right, abnormal! She was a SOLDIER, he was the President's Son! This was un-natural, it wouldn't work! She spent every day of her life fighting to stay alive, any mission could be her last. She couldn't feel this way!
Alone is what I have, alone is what protects me! Alone is what I have, alone is what protects me! He is what I have, he what I protect! Alo---...
Her eyes widened as her thought strayed, how was this happening? What had set it off? Was just looking at him the trigger? Impossible! That would only mean physical attraction... unless...
She looked over as the man who loved the same colour as he had already walked out the doors. Was it really hate that she felt? Had she been looking at this all wrong? The young woman shook her head, regardless, she wouldn't let this get to her but at the same time she didn't want him to be alone at this time of night.
"Rufus! Wait!" she called out, picking up a steady pace as she went after him, her coat flapping in the wind she picked up slightly, once she caught up with him she came to a slow walk beside him as she looked over at him "I... I'll come with you. It's not safe."

He slowed his step as to not seem is he was running away. He had never planned to talk to her about it, to ask her directly if she'd join his cause. Now he knew where her anger towards him stemmed from, and he couldn't blame her for it. Still it hurt to be judged by his father's actions all the time. He did want to make the world a better place for people like her... It wasn't going to be a short road though, and he knew that.
His thoughts strayed to her beautiful eyes and the hair he was fairly sure was as soft as it looked. He'd never know though. While she had agreed to help his cause he was still fairly certain he repulsed her. That was alright though... if this was as close as he'd ever get, he was okay with that. Falling in love was never part of any plan of his, and it never would be. Being tied down by anyone that got too close would just endanger them and hinder him from reaching his goals.
"Rufus! Wait!"
It was like a shock to his system, already three steps out the door, and hearing his name from her beautiful lips. It stopped him in his place and he turned to look at her. "I... I'll come with you. It's not safe." It was way more than he had expected or asked for, yet he appreciated the gesture. It was dangerous, though he knew he could hold his own... he wasn't about to turn her away when they had just found some commonground to stand on.
"Very well then... lets go."

Looking away, Kyrie merely nodded before beginning to walk with him, attempting to ignore the conflict going on within her mind, though every time she looked over at him it was like she was seeing him for the first time. His short cut and perfectly styled hair framing his pale yet handsome face, his brows hovering above focused blue eyes and lips which curved into a heart stopping smirk when confident. Her eyes trailed from left to right, up to down, taking in every detail as if it would be her last time seeing him.
She felt weak, so many scenarios went on in her mind, some longing--mostly longing though she knew it was wrong, she knew she wasn't thinking straight. How could this be happening?
As they soon found themselves leaving the slums, making their way up to Sector 8, Kyrie focused her attention on the path ahead, trying to at least use something to take her mind off this new development. She made sure to keep her eye out for any thugs which roamed the streets at this time. She didn't speak, fearing it would trigger anything further.

Rufus kept glancing at her, taking in the moment. While their walk was silent, to him it wasn't uncomfortably so. There wasn't really anything left to say. He felt like anything he said might set off the calm they had finally seemed to have found, and that was the last thing he wanted to do. Half way through sector 8 he glanced over at her. "I uh... I can't exactly take the main path back to HQ. I snuck out without permission and bodyguards after all... Mind if we take my way back?"

Kyrie tilt her head as she looked over at him, unsure what to think of the situation. She found it rather amusing that he needed permission to leave his quarters, she decided to ask him about that. "Why aren't you allowed to go where you please? Some sort of curfew?" she chuckled lightly as they walked, the slight drizzle of rain beginning to become something a little more as it rained down upon them, Kyrie looked up as she smiled, for some reason feeling at ease when the rain came to greet her.
Forgetting what he said, she stood there for a moment with her eyes closed as the droplets kissed her cheeks, tiny crystal beads running down strands of her hair as a satisfied sigh escaped her. Though suddenly remembering where she was, she opened her eyes to look once more at Rufus. "Ah!... Sorry about that," she chuckled awkwardly, shaking her hair of any raindrops before speaking in a softer tone "Uhm, sure, lead the way I suppose."

Rufus groaned as the rain started coming down harder, pulling his hood over his head. He wasn't a fan of storms, or even rain for that matter. "Stupid rain," he flinched just a bit when thunder rumbled throughout the city. He motioned for her to follow him through the alleyway. "I guess curfew would be a good word for it. Actually it's more a fact of personel... It's bothersome to have people follow me to see my mother. It makes me look weak. I have an image to uphold you know... besides, my father feels like I can't defend myself and I'll get killed by leaving after a certain time."
He blinked at her as she closed her eyes and seemed to actually enjoy the rain. It was... odd to him. Why would you enjoy cold water pouring down on top of you? It was a nuisance, and cold. More thunder rumbled through the air as he ducked into a door that was detached from a building. He had many ways to get back to where he needed to be. This specific escape route lead directly back to his quarters. "There are monsters down here," he pulled his shotgun out, making sure it was loaded and ready to go. He carried it one-handed as he lead her through some underground tunnels. "When my father first built this building, it was a fortress... no escape routes or secret exits in case of attack or emergency... I was five. I was the only one with brains enough to suggest it, and sure enough he had the common sense to listen to me... however his memory seems to have defaulted in all of his over indulgence... he never remembers that these are here or posts anyone around them to make sure I don't get out."

Kyrie rose a brow as she followed after him, not exactly understanding why his father even cared, surely if someone were to take over your business or perhaps would even do a better job than you, you'd want to eliminate the competition though she made sure not to say anything about this in fear that it would offend him.
She was surprised though when he whipped out a shotgun, never really having him down as a fighter though she supposed there was more to fighting than just brute strength, though to be on the safe side, she summoned her sword Fallen, an immaculate silver rapier with a winged handle to protect her hand. She kept the sword by her hip should she ever need to use it. She had to admit that she was impressed by his smart thinking. "So, in other words... I'm right in assuming it's you that does most the work and he takes the credit for it, yes? Honestly, it makes a girl wonder why anyone would even be interested in a man like him... though I suppose the main reason is the money," she said, kissing her teeth slightly before following after him from behind in case anything attempts to leap out at him.
"Personally, I'm use to things like this, growing up on Banora, you get the odd scary looking cave here and there, not much phases me," she chuckled, keeping her hand steady on the blade's hilt. Thinking back to her previous words, she wondered if Rufus had ever received any 'offers' from women at all, he was the President's son after all and any woman to marry him would inherit a great deal, though thinking about that it made her think that maybe marriage wasn't the best thing for him as he'd most likely one day mysteriously die, she had heard a lot about stories like that.
She didn't know why she was asking, and at first she wasn't even thinking as she blurted out her next words.
"So, I take it your father already has you paired off with some fancy rich woman, huh?"
Whether it was true or not, she couldn't help but feel a small sting.
Jealousy.

Rufus looked around, examining the dark corners for anything that might jump out at them. He knew he left Dark Nation around here somewhere, but for all he knew his vicious guard cat had gone off chasing rats or something for amusement. "It's always been that way. Actually, most of the time the only way to get an idea through to him is to work it around to make him think it's his idea. He wasn't always this way though, I guess. I hear he used to be quite intelligent until his big idea shot off and he got to pay others to do the thinking for him. Then he just indulged himself in women, food and booze. Part of me wonders what he was like before, y'know?"
Dark Nation growled at Kyrie, standing up from it's comfortable ledge. "Down, boy," Rufus snapped at him, calling the beast to his side. "This is Dark Nation. I guess you could say he's the only bodyguard I trust..."
He heard her question about the pairing, and couldn't help but snort with laughter. "Fuck no. Well not from lack of trying... I can't stand most of the women he does try to marry me off to, and most of the girls don't like my attitude. I don't make it easy, after all," he gave sort of a sad sigh. "I don't think I'll ever marry personally. I mean just the thought of it makes me shudder. I'm too fucking young to think about that shit... but my dad never spent any time on me, and as President of the company I can't see myself being able to dedicate time to a wife and kids... and I don't want to spend my life in a loveless marriage like my mom did... if I'm going to be stuck with someone for the rest of eternity, I want it to at least be someone I can tolerate, even if I can never find real love... at least then I don't have to worry about being poisoned or stabbed in my sleep."

Kyrie seemed slightly surprised at the guard cat, though it was hardly a surprise that Rufus had things guarding him left, right and center, he was quite valuable after all and if something were to happen to him whilst she was around, she knew she'd be done for his murder... She may of hated him, but not enough to kill him, sure she wanted to run him through but she'd probably cure him straight after. Listening to him talk about his father, she tutted. "That doesn't surprise me," she said in a low voice whilst placing her hand on the walls around them to feel her way around, it was quite dark down there.
Her eyes trailed upwards at the sound of growling, somewhat alarmed that this was not the type of feline she was expecting. "Well, that's something you don't see every day," she said with mock surprise before continuing her walking, as relieved as she was, she couldn't help but feel bad for the blonde. He was right though, he was too young, though mentioning that she couldn't help but remember a small memory. "I know what you mean, I grew up with the 1st Class SOLDIER Genesis Rhapsodos, we were best friends and funnily enough, our parents actually set us up for an arranged marriage though being kids, we found the idea gross, we went around being 'engaged' thinking it just meant we were good friends, though considering we were young, it was hardly serious," she smiled, laughing quietly at the memory, she just couldn't see her friend in that way.
Still, her laughter died down whilst thinking about his words. That pang of guilt hitting her again. Was he truly so unbearable? Had she been too hard on him before? Hesitantly, she reached forward, about to place her hand on his shoulder to let him know she was here though retracted it, shaking her head at her foolishness.
Though whilst walking down the pathway, she had lost control of her footing and tripped over something before plummeting into his back, a loud grunt escaped her as she found herself hitting the ground hard and to make matters worse, something heavy was crushing her.
"Fuck."

Rufus nodded and continued to follow the linear path. It tended to get darker in these parts, but luckily Dark Nation was a fairly good guide for him, making light sounds as to not alarm anything nearby but be able to guide him home. He listened to her story about childhood betrothal to Genesis and resisted the urge to growl. While she didn't really sound interested in the man romantically, he felt more jealous that they had gotten to grow up together. Just a short time and he already liked Kyrie a lot, and he had never gotten to have friends as a child... he was jealous on both fronts. "Must have been nice, growing up with people... I never really met another kid until I met Dezzy... and at the time she was... uh.. .different and nearly killed me. we've been at each other's throats since then... though the past few years we've come to some agreements and are pretty much friends now... she's as close as I get to a friend... though I don't appreciate her ability to unlock my door and sneak into my quarters at night... worst part is is Dark Nation's useless against her because he adores her and her never ending supply of meat."
The black cat was puddy in the blond's hands if she ever needed to sneak in and get something from him. He was just about to turn back and look at her to ask a question when he too slipped and fell, turning himself and falling face down. His head bounced off the wall and left a loud ringing sound in his ears. "Oh god..." he groaned, it taking him a full minute to realize he was on top of something that wasn't hard ground. "fuck..." he rolled off of her, holding his head in a daze. "That's going to leave a damn mark..."
Dark Nation simply wandered over to him, no real worry as it sat next to Rufus patiently.

Kyrie lay there for a moment, staring at the cieling in a daze, a sudden surge of electricity coursing through her body at the contact which nearly caused her to internally explode. Her rolled off her, which then caused her to snap out of it as she looked over at him, noticing he seemed to be in pain slightly. She didn't know if it was the blow to the head she just took or something else as she finally sat up and shuffled over to him.
"You alright...?" she asked, carefully removing his hand as their fingers just so happened to intertwine before moving her face just mere inches from his as she inspected his forehead, her other hand lightly reaching up to wipe off a few specks of dust, she noticed it seemed a little red and would most likely swell up a bit. "It looks like it's going to swell a bit," she said softly, what she did surprised even her as she leaned forward and placed her soft lips upon the sore area for a good few seconds before pulling away, inside she was screaming at herself but she smiled before standing, helping him up also.
A small cough escaped her as she looked around, suddenly the effects of what she just did sinking in. "So... we near yet?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

Rufus groaned for another mission, closing his eyes and trying to refocus. "I hit my head pretty hard. Gunna have one hell of a headache when that sinks in... I don't think I have a concussion or anything.." his eyes were still closed when he felt a pair of soft lips touch where he had just injured himself. His eyes opened wide but she was already pulling away and the moment seemed lost. He sighed and sat up, checking for other injuries carefully before letting her help him up. "Yeah. the ladder's right there."
He was slightly shocked and confused but brushed it off. "Come on," he lead the way up the ladder, popping open a hatch that opened up into the living room of his quarters, popping out of it after checking for people. "All clear."
His room wasn't too lavish; a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom, all furniture in his signature white. Everything was simple except for a large painting in violent colors of a beautiful woman with bright blue eyes and long blond hair past her waist. She sat with a small baby in her arms, looking peaceful and happy. Everything else was in pure white, clean edges and glass. Once they were both out of the walk way, and Dark Nation was safely in his pet bed, Rufus closed and covered the hatch with a rug and a small end table.
"Well, we're here!"

Kyrie smiled as he stated that he was alright, watching as he stood and brushed himself off, she didn't know why she cared so much at that moment but she supposed it was better than being so hateful. Once again he took the role of leader and began to take her towards a ladder, indicating that this was it. She was surprised it hadn't taken that long, though the journey could've done without the trip so to speak. The young woman climbed up with him, waiting until he gave the signal that all was well, once he did the two of them ended up in a surprisingly white room. Kyrie looked around for a second as she began removing her jacket - exposing her smooth shoulders and collarbone, she had a feeling it would be like this though everything was white except for a large portrait.
Almost as if dazed, she dropped her jacket onto the couch, though not to seem impolite as she approached the painting, the small winged motif on the back of her dress exposed as she reached up and glided her hand along the painting, a soft smile on her lips. "This... is your mother, isn't it?" she smiled, her eyes falling upon the baby Shinra as a small giggle escaped her, it wasn't hard to notice "She's... beautiful..."
The painting itself got to her more than anything, so wishing she had something like this, internally she felt her heart weeping at the fact that her mother had never been able to hold her, she never knew a mother's touch...
