Kyrie felt herself near napping as she lay in the bath full of warm, body embracing water. It was the first moments peace that she had been given in weeks, a content sigh escaped her as she scooped up a handful of bubbles and blew them away, smiling as she watched them float downwards. Her attention was soon caught by the sound of knocking coming from the door which she was now looking at, an awkward smile spread across her lips. "Uhm, alright... thank you," she said, trying to sound as polite as possible, after all... she had just taken over his bathroom without any form of confirmation, though it seemed he didn't mind much.
Once she was finished cleaning her body and hair of all of today's work outs, she pulled the plug and began stepping out of the bath. Luckily for her, the bathroom was already fitted with a hair dryer though she made sure to wrap a nice soft fluffy towel around her body, which had the Shinra logo on it, before walking over to the mirror and reached for the device, turning it on before drying off her hair. Whilst standing there, she couldn't help but think of all the changes recently... What amused her the most was the fact she was in the quarters of a certain young man that she once disliked with a passion, though deep down she knew she had been too hard on him. It was just hard to let go of the past sometimes... And deep down, she wondered why the President had been so harsh towards her father - that was something she would soon find out one way or another.
But then she thought back to Rufus... Was she really doing this to help him? Or was it for her own selfish needs? She didn't know, but she could see how drained he was, how he spent every day disliked by others or infatuated, it was sad that money was the only thing people saw in him. Shaking her head, she thought of how silly she was being with her thoughts, the more she thought about him, the more she realised she was developing some sort of dumb girlish crush.
Once she was all dried off and had her unkempt hair left hanging below her chest and shoulders, she picked up her underwear once they were dried and put them back on before tiptoeing out of the bathroom - cleaning up after herself, of course. Making her way down the hall, she found herself at the end where the young VP's bedroom was and quietly opened the door in search for something to wear as her clothes were still wet and she didn't exactly prepare for a sleepover either. She took in the sight of his room, his bed big enough for ten people and a desk which held some photos along with notes. Her head turned to the side and soon her gaze met the large white wardrobe which was bound to have something for her to wear. Walking over and opening, she noticed nothing but white suits, white shirts, white pants, white everything! It was almost overwhelming.
Without much thought, she chose one of his white buttoned up shirts as he had plenty more before putting it on and getting her scent on it almost immediately. She inhaled softly, noting the hint of lavender soap in which the shirt had been washed in... The scent triggering a small memory as she always wondered why he had always smelt so good when she saw him, though blushing at the image, she quickly shook the thought out of her head while slipping on the over-sized shirt and buttoning it up - the hem barely going past her backside and leaving her slender yet athletic legs on show.
Deciding not to stay too long, she quickly but quietly closed the wardrobe and left the room. suddenly feeling her stomach growl as she began to feel a little hungry having not eaten yet. A small smile formed on her lips as she thought of a nice way to thank him and slipped into the kitchen. Again, white - though with the except of the silver draining boards and plumbing areas. She immediately searched the fridge and cupboards, though frowned when she noticed most things were ready meals that looked as if they had been made a while back but they were untouched, there was the odd ingredient here and there... but mostly plastic tupper. Kyrie couldn't help but feel a little off. Did people just drop him off food like he was some sort of animal? His father truly didn't care for his son, did he?
"That bastard," she sighed before reaching into the well supplied fridge and took what she needed in order to make a beef casserole for him. As she prepared everything, trying to be quiet in hopes to not alert him of what she was doing, she thought back to the time when he came down to the cafeteria, another sting of guilt stabbing at her heart. No wonder he came down there, being cooped up in here with leftovers or whatever he was given... There was just no thought or consideration in his meals. Slyly, she looked around before looking down at the casserole before her that was almost ready.
A chuckle escaped her as she stirred and sipped occasionally before readying some bowls and breadrolls, serving the dish up and placing it on a tray along with a bowl of water. She made sure to clean up before then leaving the kitchen and back into the main room. Kyrie stopped as she was met with a surprising sight, a smile curving her lips as she quietly walked over, seeing how the VP looked as if he had been out for a little while with his companion snuggled up to him. Without a sound, she placed the tray down onto the coffee table and picked up the bowl, patting her thigh for the animal to come over and placed the bowl of water in front of him. "There's a good boy," she smiled, scratching behind his ear before going over to his master and crawled onto the couch where she tapped him lightly. "Rufus? ...Rufus?" she said in a hushed tone, though got no response.
She shuffled slightly closer, near crawling over him, and attempted to flick his nose. "Rufus? Wake up, I've made dinner," she said, a little more louder but still softly. Again, no response and now the young SOLDIER was completely unaware that she was now hovering over the male, her knee dangerously close between his leg as she moved her mouth to his ear and spoke his name again, her curved chest pressed against his flatter one.
"Rufus? Hellooo?"

It didn't take long for Rufus to fall soundly asleep, stroking Dark Nation until his breathing evened out and the large creature too was sleeping. A small smile played on his face as for the first time in years he dreamt something other than a nightmare. He dreamt about his mother singing to him as she painted yet another picture of a feild filled with flowers, one based off of the summer home they had near the Junon area. It was constantly breezy and beautiful there, and it had been her favorite place to go to get away from the city.
She sang a song about finding true love, of loss and of finding true love again through circumstance. It was her favorite thing to do as she painted... to just sing whatever words came to her as she painting. Long elaborate stories were created this way, and on occasion Rufus would join in as well, though he was never as good of it as she was. His mother seemed to always know the right words to say. He longed to hear her voice again...
This time, the picture she painted seemed to move though. The small version of him tilted his head curiously before approaching the paiting, reaching up on tip toe to touch the colors as they swirled. In it a shadow of a man seemed to be walking along the beach, searching for something. By the words in his mother's song he assumed it was his long lost love. As he walked, he grew older; slowly but surely his posture became hunched and he walked slower and slower as the moments passed by. Eventually he stopped in front of a figure in a dress.
Rufus blinked as the song stopped, turning to look at his mother only to realize she was gone. In the wind he could still hear her humming, but now the scene changed to a wasteland, and there was a woman walking away... he went to follow his mother but then a voice caught his attention.
"Rufus?" it echoed from afar. He turned to look, to try and find its origin.
"Rufus? Wake up, I've made dinner," the voice seemed closer this time, and in the distance he spotted Kyrie. For a moment he looked back at his mother, but she seemed to have stopped and was staring back at him now... finally she nodded and disappeared.
The blond started to run, but not to follow his past, but to Kyrie instead. "Rufus? Hellooo?" he gasped as in his dream he reached her and in real life he woke up to her just inches from his face. He startled before in a moment of spontanaiety he placed a soft kiss on those beautiful lips of hers. They were so close to one another, he didn't know what else to do. Pure shock crossed his face as he realized what he just did.
"I- sorry, Kyrie, I just-" he stumbled for words, his face turning redder than Reno's hair.

For a while, Kyrie remained in that position waiting for the blonde to wake up, though when she did... It was not what she was expecting. Her breath nearly caught in her throat, almost choking as her eyes shot open wide, her lips tingling from the sudden sensation. With a startled cry, she threw herself off him a little bit too strongly as she fell off the other end of the couch, landing in a heap with her undies showing for that small period of time.
Flustered, the young woman scrambled onto her feet, quickly composing herself as she looking away from him, pulling the shirt over her underwear as a light tint shaded her cheeks. "Uhm, I-It's fine, umm..." she gulped, keeping her eyes fixated on something other than him. Did I just...? With a shudder, she shook the thought of having just had her first kiss in such a way and with such a someone! She was NOT expecting for that to happen.
Turning away from him, she went back towards the coffee table and sat on a single chair before sorting out the spoons and breadrolls. "I made you something to eat... I figured I owed it to you," she said in an awkward tone after the sudden experience, trying to focus on food at the moment. Carefully, she picked up his tray for him and handed it out to him "I-It's not much... but I hope you like it. Beats the stuff I saw in your fridge at least."
She then looked down at her own bowl, lightly stirring it with her spoon after adding a spot of pepper. In hopes to relieve any awkwardness, she looked at him barely before speaking.
"Are you alright, by the way? You were kind of shuffling around a bit in your sleep..."

Rufus shook his head, sitting up and trying to process what he just did. The last time he had kissed someone he had been 13 and with one of the first girls his father tried to set him up with... Since then he hadn't even given or recieved more than a peck on the cheek, despite the rumors and the opportunities to sleep with many of his fangirls. He wasn't sure how to feel about the situation. He took up his bowl instead and studied its contents as he listened to her. The fact she was still there meant she hadn't completely abandoned him, thankfully.
"A lot of people drop me off food that I don't have time or energy to eat. It's easier to grab from the cafeteria and scarf it down before I go to my next meeting or to bed. Honestly the stuff that's served in the VIP lounge isn't that good... too gourmet for my tastes, as sad as that sounds," he mumbled and took a bite of the casserole. His eyes lit up and he took a few more bites. It was delicious, some of the best food he had had since his mother's death. "I don't get the chance to eat as much as people would like to believe. While my father's gourging himself the rest of us have to cover the shit he doesn't do. Between Reeve and I we spend more time working to cover his ass than we do on the work thats in our job descriptions..."
He glanced at her as she mentioned his movement in his sleep. "... I was having a dream... sometimes I move in my sleep when I'm particularly exhausted after a few days. It's nothing to worry about," a blush crossed his cheeks at the memory of the dream he had just had. "It wasn't a bad one, at least. Normally all I have is nightmares if I do dream at all..."

Already she was beginning to feel at ease, it was almost as if the kiss had been forgotten completely which calmed her to know, she couldn't stand sitting in a room with someone where a situation had just become complicated. Bringing her spoon to her lips, she blew away any steam before silently sipping as she finally focused her gaze on him as he seemed to scarf down the meal she had made him - it made her happy to say the least.
"So that's why you were in the cafeteria that time," she spoke softly, a nervous chuckle escaping her as she placed her spoon back into the bowl before rubbing the back of her neck rather guiltily "sheesh, when you put it like that I can't help but feel bad for what I did that day... I know I keep repeating myself, but I really am sorry for how I acted." She looked at him, watching as he gulped down the casserole, the way he enjoyed it like a young lad eating a delicious cake made her smile. "Heh... I remember when I was a child, I use to cook for my father... though I don't think he appreciated the fact that I made dinner out of mud and worms, hehe... his face when he swallowed some," she chuckled to herself, placing a hand to her cheek as if reminiscing.
Tilting her head to the side whilst her stew rested on her lap, she listened as he spoke. "Things are pretty tough, huh? I never realised..." she sighed, truly not knowing that he worked so hard, if her father were here he would've scolded her by now for being so judgemental even if she did have her reasons, she then let off a disgusted grunt "I hear Reno sometimes gossiping with his colleagues of how there's rumors going around of the President visiting the Honey Bee Inn, you know, the brothel? It's almost hard to believe, though with what I know - not so much."
Taking a bread roll, she tore it in half and dipped a piece into the meaty gravy substance before eating it whilst resting the bowl on the arm of her chair as she sat diagonally with her slender legs hanging over the other arm. She chuckled softly, hearing as he spoke of his sleeping habits. "You must be a pain to sleep with, huh?" she smiled, not really realising what she had said as she ate, suckling on her spoon a little as her gaze softened "I know what you mean, I hardly ever have any good dreams though being a SOLDIER, I don't count on it."
A small laugh sung from her mouth as she placed her nearly finished bowl down onto the coffee table and stretched on the arm chair, the shirt riding up slightly whilst one of the top buttons slipped undone, groaning as she did so whilst a small and slightly cute yawn escaped her - she wasn't particularly tired, just being in this sort of environment made her a bit too relaxed. She stared up at the ceiling as she crossed her arms behind her head whilst one leg crossed over the other and began to bob it up and down. "So... what kind of dream did you have?" she asked, clearly interested from the tone of her voice though still kept her gaze on the ceiling as she imagined her eyes drawing black lined images.

Rufus chuckled and demolished his meal. "It's not really that bad. It's really hard to say something is hard or not if the "hard" is what's normal. I'm used to it. Even when I was a kid he sometimes would bring plans to me to look over and see what my opinion was. He tried to disguise it as father-son time, which to his benefit things like that actually interested me at a young age. I love archetecture. Most of the secret passageways, and a lot of the design was partially based on my ideas and observations at age 5. For example, you know how the elevator system is? The keycards were partially an idea I came up with. Originally every floor was available via elevator! I mean how ridiculous is that?! He didn't even have any escape routes or anything out of his own office in case of emergencies!!" His expression lit up as he spoke of the building, his arms sort of pointing and giving vague gestures as he became more animated. "And I have all sorts of ideas for if we ever decided to rebuild this place! I could make it so much better and more economical! I mean do we REALLY need three tech labs? Shit, we could fire half of the staff and just put Dezzy in charge. She manages the weapons research area, plus security, just fine with her 20-screen set up and three great big servers!"
He was grinning like a little kid before being asked about his dream. He blinked a bit and shrugged. "I'm not... really sure... my mom was in it. and she was painting a field while she was doing this thing she used to do... when I was little, and it was storming, I used to get scared... She loved painting during stormy nights, for some reason she felt it was more productive that way... but she used to sing me a story about the picture she was painting, usually about flowers or some sort of beautiful landscape she had seen whenever she got to travel with my father," he smiled softly and set his bowl down. "The painting was of this flowery field by our summer home over near Junon... It was her favorite place... and there were people in the painting, but they were moving to the story... it was about a man who found his true love, and then got separated from her because of his own deeds, and spent his whole life searching for her, only to find her on her deathbed the day she was dying..."
It was a sad story, but one he now clearly remembered being told when he was little... "She left him because he broke a promise, one more valuable than even their marriage vows, and once she was gone, and he was alone with his money and his fancy toys, he realized what he had lost... He traveled the entire world searching for her, calling out her name everywhere he went. He crossed oceans, hiked mountains, swam across rivers, only to never find her... and when he ran out of money he just kept walking... until he found something he had never had before; inner peace. He started to actually be aware of his surroundings, the trees, the air, the water... and he started to write all of it down, so when he found her again, he could tell her all of it," Rufus stared at the fire, losing awareness of the fact he still had an audience as he recalled his mother's words. "He retraced his footsteps until many years later he found himself back in his hometown, too old to travel anymore. He had nothing; he had sold everything he had for funds long ago. There were no children to care for him, no wife to say goodbye to him. He was truly alone... but then, he found her. She was being taken care of by a neice, and just hours away from passing when they met again... and she told him the most amazing story; she too had been searching for him. She had kept a journal the entire time she traveled, until she got too sick to travel... After she died, he read what she had wrote, looked at the pictures and paintings she had taken and made... All along she had been not but a few days behind him, traveling the same path... if only he had stopped to enjoy the life and nature around him, they would have crossed paths years before, and could have enjoyed the journey together... now he was the one that was left behind... two days later he passed peacefully in his sleep and followed his beloved to heaven."
A tear rolled down his cheek recalling the story. "It was her favorite story. She always hoped the man she originally loved before my father would come back for her... When she took her life, not only had she found out about my father cheating on her- multiple times, but she had also found out that her true love had died in battle," he looked at her sadly. "The broken part of her heart was shattered, and whatever was left was torn out by my father... all that was left was a little piece for me, and that only got her so far before she faded away..."

Kyrie lay there as he spoke, taking in every detail and often smiling at his wild gestures and movements - he really did like to talk, didn't he? Though it wasn't something she disliked about him, she wasn't much of a talker herself though she enjoyed listening to others speak. It was then after she mentioned his dream that she sensed something a little off with him, turning her head, she looked over in his direction with a blank face though concern flickered in her blue orbs. He told his story and she listened without interruption, it was almost sweet really... For a woman to listen to a man and make him feel like the most important man in the world just by... listening. Her eyes closed softly as she smiled a sad smile while hearing the tale though it was more so to hear his voice - for once she allowed herself to have that one moment, to just be able to allow herself to feel something whilst with him without pushing it to one side.
She was quite the lover of sad romances and it couldn't help but get her to thinking how her parents met, her father never spoke of it though she could tell that having her in his life for the amount of time he did had made him a better and happier man. A small lump rose in her throat as the story took a slight turn, she wouldn't allow herself to cry even though the tears threatened to break from behind her eyelids though still she kept her composure. It truly was a sad tale and it was no wonder his mother adored it so as it related to her own situation, Kyrie wasn't sure what to feel once finding this out, however, it was honest to say that her own heart was hurting now... She prayed silently that such a thing would never happen to her, she already saw how losing his wife had hurt her father... Hence why she never dared to love herself, it only caused grief or pain, a temporary happiness with a lifelong sadness.
Then... Everything went quiet. Opening her eyes, she gazed over at the young man, seeing the sorrowful expression on his face caused her to look away slightly and wince. Ouch. If such a look could pierce her very heart then it was that one. Deep down she wanted to hold him close and whisper that it was alright, though decided to take a less desperate approach. With a sigh as if it was some difficult task, she got up from the chair and began walking towards him, her hair swaying side to side behind her back before reaching him and crouching to his level. "Rufus..." she spoke his name as if it was the most beautiful word from any piece of poetry as she reached up and brushed a few strands of hair from his sorrowful features and then placed her hand gently over his cheek where her thumb massaged the skin.
"I know it's sad... My heart goes out deeply for your mother," she began, choosing her words carefully as she whispered in a kindly tone "But know she is at peace... And think, just like in her story, she too is now with the one that truly loves her, I'm sure she's fine... she's happy... safe, she'll never have to be around men like your father ever again because I'm sure her lost love is taking care of her."
Despite not being very well with words of emotion, she seemed to have surprised even herself with what she had just said. With a small breath, she leaned upwards before placing a small kiss on his forehead though it was longer than most before she had to pull away to breathe. Her kind eyes shining at him.
"She would've been so proud of her beloved son..."

Rufus sighed softly, looking up at her beautiful face and wondering if what he felt right now was going to cause him to end up like his mother. He found himself caring more and more about her as time went by, especially now that he had seen this more caring side of her. She wasn't as cruel as she had lead him to believe, and that felt good to know. He needed someone on his side, someone who listened to him and kept him in check, and he knew she wouldn't be afraid to do that. "I wonder if she really would be. She always told me to follow my heart, and here I am trying to usurp my own father and take over a business when it's really the last thing I ever wanted to do... Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I just... disappeared. Ran away, started a new life somewhere. A place where no one knew my name, and I could just do whatever I wanted..." he closed is eyes for a moment.
It was a beautiful thought; having the chance to control his own life for once instead it being dictated by the expectations of others. What would he even do? He loved the idea of being able to study archetecture for the rest of his life... or painting like his mother used to do, or even some other business venture that played on his strengths... but he had no clue where to start and being alone terrified him. "Would you think me a coward if I decided to run away?"

The emotion. It came off him in waves, the air around him so thick that even she could feel his hopelessness and despair. There were other sentiments, however, they were mainly ones which affected him negatively. She studied his features as he spoke, swallowing the lump in her throat that had risen before as she allowed herself to calm slightly. Did he truly feel so... so... lost? So unloved.
Whether she was dazed or just merely putting on an act, her expression shifted to that of affection, the need to want someone to feel something other than sadness was right there painted on her pale face as she looked at him. She listened to his words, allowing him the comfort of a listening ear though that was it. She couldn't bare to hear any more of his words, not that she didn't adore the sound of his voice but the sadness was overwhelming. Her eyes half closed as the mako infused blue in her spheres glittered lightly, her pupils dialating whilst placing a slender index finger over his lips, the strength in that one finger being enough to press his entire body into the back cushion of the sofa. "Hush now... No more..." she whispered, her voice laced with tenderness as she rose slightly, enough to join him on the couch only her body was facing his and her position was to be upon his lap though barely touching.
She inspected him a while longer before removing her finger and as if trying to put a spell on him, she moved her figure forward until eventually her cupid's bow lips softly collided with lips of his own kind. A hand joined his face on one side followed by another on the other side as their mouths intertwined, lips locking together as her eyes remained half closed as if to watch his reactions to her actions - although sincere, she needed to know if it would stop this sadness from growing.

Truly, he wasn't sure where his suddenly hopelessness was coming from. Sure these were things he had felt in the past, but today they seemed so intense. He didn't mean to bring her down with him. "It's okay... I'll survi-" he shushed as she put that finger to his lips, sitting close to him. He was mesmerized by her movements as slowly but surely her face grew in closeness to his. He couldn't help but let out a sharp gasp as their lips collided, something akin to electricity flowing through his body.
Every part of him wanted to close his eyes and enjoy the moment, but would she still be there when he opened his eyes? Slowly a hand reached up to stroke her hair and the kissed deepened ever so slightly. His pulse quickened as his mind slowly shut down all the worrying and fretting he had spent the last week doing. He waited for her to pull away, to reject him but as the moments went pass he stopped fearing the worst and accepted that she seemed to want this on some level to.
His other hand found its way to her cheek, stroking away a piece of hair out of her face, eyes wide with wonder and affection for the woman he was just coming to know.

Silent in the moment with just their breathing echoing from wall to wall, Kyrie allowed her eyes to shut fully before the tears began to form once again. Her mouth softly but surely opening as she kissed the man she once attacked with a plateful of meatballs, her lips lightly holding his lower one between her own for a while before eventually applying a more desirable and harder pressure. Her hands removed themselves from his face as they lightly caressed along his arms as she gripped the forearms as she pushed him back further, positioning him longways across the sofa as she dipped down further to join her body with his. Her head tilted from side to side as she kissed him at several different angles, the most angelic but passionately desperate sounds breathing from her mouth as she didn't let up.
So overwhelmed, she wanted to kiss him until she could no longer breathe, until she was sure that his sadness had been extinguished. Though the more her lips remained in contact, the more she stopped doing this for his benefit... but for her own, too. Years of pent up anger and a heart filled with its own despair seemed to make the young SOLDIER woman crumble as her body acted to its own accord, her leg rising as it lightly nudged the spot between his thighs, her kisses becoming more intense as she pulled away slightly to let out a deep breath before pressing harder against his lips with the smallest of sounds of enjoyment escaping her, a hand being brought up as it meshed within his blonde hair. It wasn't long before a tear finally managed to break free and slither down her cheek, but she didn't care about that because more than he, she needed to feel something, anything... lest she slip away and become nothing.

Rufus gently stroked the hair of the woman not but a few days ago he was sure would hate him forever. This was so much different than that first, he could feel something burning rising in his chest, until all he wanted to do was kiss her for the rest of his life. A hand found its way to her waist and he pulled her closer, tangling his fingers in that soft hair.
He felt a tear against his cheek, opening eyes to see it was in fact her tear, and he pulled away for just a fraction of a second. "Don't cry," he whispered, kissing her cheek until all traces of the tears were gone. "I never want to see you cry."
His words were sincere and he pressed his lips to hers again. A thumb caressed her cheek affectionately as he tried to slow the kiss down, to pace themselves and enjoy it while it lasted. He was tired of moving fast all the time... he just wanted to take a chance to breathe and just... be...
"ATTENTION all employees! All members of SOLDIER must report to the auditorium for briefing immediately! All department heads report to meeting room B. Department members are to wait for their heads in their specific department for their head. Vice President Rufus, please report to the President's office. This is NOT a drill!" he almost cursed as the announcement ran through the PA system. "Stay tuned for further information, and reminder that this is NOT a drill."
"Fuck," he clung to Kyrie for another moment before sighing. "I guess it's started?"

As soon of her wave of despair was melded into her aggressive kissing, now void of all anger, her pace slowed as her hand rested upon his cheek whilst locking her lips with his in a more tender but softer pace. A look of surprise forming on her features as he looked at her, Kyrie's heart felt as if it would stop as she looked down and drowned in his crystal blue marbled eyes... Never had such a gaze been directed at her and if she were to be honest... It made her happy.
Her body gently yet lovingly pressed into his, each kiss ordering her SOLDIER mind to react in certain ways, to feel such an emotion... to want someone this much, it had to be more than desperation, more than a mere tool to stop her feeling pain... this was something else. Already she could feel her protective wall breaking down, she knew that what she felt was--
A sudden surprised grunt escaped her as her eyes shot open, almost as if receiving a wake up call on what she was doing. She felt him pull her to him once last time before sitting up while still on top of him, she looked up at the PA speaker, glaring at it! Wanting to throw a fireball in its direction.
"Son of a coeurl!" she cursed, soon removing herself off the VP before marching over to the bathroom where she kept her clothes and threw the shirt off before getting changed in the hallway, not caring if he saw. Deep down she felt annoyed, pissed off even that her first ever experience was now ruined as well as over. Groaning and muttering, she quickly went over to where she left her coat and put it on, looking over at him before looking away slightly with a hardened expression as her cheeks turned pink.
"Guh... what kind of time do they call this?" she growled softly, trying to put on a tough girl act after being so submissive not too long ago.

Rufus sighed and stood up, watching with a bit of sadness as she rushed off to get dressed. He knew it was no time to be lingering, but he wanted that feeling again, the feeling of her body against his, of her lips on his lips... part of him felt like now the walls were being built back up and it'd take forever to break them down again, for both of them.
As he slipped into his suit and buttoned his coat he couldn't help but growl in frustration at the situation. Just as things were going well... his phone rang and he glanced at where he had left it on the desk that morning. "The hell?" he answered it. "Rufus Shinra."
"Come to me as soon as the meetings are over. I got something you're going to want to see that they're not going to tell you about..." Dezzy's voice cut off as soon as she was done speaking, and he knew it had to be serious. Everything was going to go to hell apparently all at once.
The blond shook his head and he headed back out to the living room, collecting his ID card and anything else he might need to get him through this. "They call this shit timing, is what they call it," he looked at her for a moment, his eyes growing a bit cold and the expression on his face neutral as he built himself back up into the hard executive of Shinra that he was. "I'm sure I'll see you at the briefing at some point in time."
In a final moment of softness he handed her a keycard and kissed her forehead. "If you ever need me, this is how you get in," he whispered before turning to leave.

She didn't want to admit it, but she would've gladly said 'fuck you' to this apparent meeting that was about to take place. She thought back on Rufus's words about running away, now that she thought about it, in this moment that would've sounded like a heavenly idea. She peered over at him as his phone rang and it seemed almost simultaneously that hers began to ring also. Pulling it from her pocket, she flipped it open and pressed the receive button before placing it do her winged earring ear.
"Faith? What is it?" she asked, slightly concerned, finding it strange how her mentor was calling her right after a PA, she walked over to another side of the room as she listened in silence to her friend, sister's, and mentor's words.
"Somethin' funny's goin' on around 'ere," she spoke, her thick Aussie accent obvious to those that heard it, these words caught the young SOLDIER's attention as she asked what she meant and Faith quickly replied "Look at it this way, a meetin' at this time? And what's gettin' me is that all 2nd's and 3rd's are being assigned to one room for a secret briefing by Lazard... whilst us 1st's are going to be spoken to by the Pres."
Kyrie quickly got her own words in, her eyes lighting up. "Faith, get me into that meeting! No buts! I need to know what's going on," she said, her voice trembling slightly with nerves though it didn't surprise her that Faith soon agreed.
"Alright, will do, but keep outta trouble. They're up to something, I can sense it,"
And with that the call ended as quick as it came, Kyrie stood there with a concerned expression as she stood there waiting for Rufus's call to end. Once done, he came over to her, kissing her forehead and handing her a card whilst speaking to her. Deciding not to ignore what had happened earlier, she placed her hand on the back of his neck as she brought him in and kissed him like it would be her last before pulling away, looking at him seriously.
"I'm coming with you, my mentor, Faith Nightscar, a 1st Class says the President is requesting all 1st Class to this so-called meeting, she has a bad feeling about all this and knowing Faith, she's good with her intuition," she said firmly, though her secret reason being that she didn't want to leave him.
