Dezzy laid on the ground, staring up at the sky, her head aching and her mind a bit confused. She hadn't even had real time to react, and now her body was killing her on top of everything else. Kaida let out a low hiss, standing up. "Well excuse us for only getting less than an hour of sleep," she growled out, sheathing her sword and looking at Alex with a death glare. "That would have been cute if Dezzy would have used any of her magic attacks. She could have killed herself!"
She helped the slightly stunned Dezzy to her feet, sheathing the girl's sword for her. "You okay?" she asked softly, laying a hand on her back and transferring some of her energy into her friend. Dezzy shook her head to clear it, her eyes still a bit dazed.
She looked up at the black haired woman with a teasing glint in her eyes. "Damn, you have a hard head. I think I got a concussion from that!" she said with a slight smile. Kaida sighed. (At least she still has her sense of humor,) she thought, letting Dezzy stand by herself. Dezzy looked over at Alex. She couldn't bring herself to hold a grudge against him for the attack; she figured he would test her some way or another. "It's about damn time. We've been training all day waiting for your sorry ass to come find us."

Alex only waved his hand to Dezzy's reply. He then replaced his hand where it was, behind his head. He kept quiet on the way back. He had used haste on himself to hurry back to the fire: it was going out! He quickly put more wood on the fire, and tried to keep it going for as long as he could. It had worked, and he let out a sigh of relief. He then looked to the ocean veiw from where he stood. He squinted his eyes, and thought he saw a glint of light in the ocean. The glint only lasted a second, so he ran to the cliff's edge. He waited a minute, which turned into minutes, which turned into half an hour.
By this time, he was very tired from sitting by the cliff's edge, and he was just falling asleep. His eyes widened as the glint shone again, this time it lasted far longer. It seemed to react with the moon's reflection on the water. He stood up abrubtly, readied himself, and dived into the water. He flew through the water to find the source of the glint, when he was attacked by some sea dwelling monsters. Alex quickly brought out his swords, and countered their attack. One by one, they flew at him, driving him backwards with each block he made. Then, countering the first few, the rest bugged out. He saw the source of the glint in the water. It appeared to be...
He moved closer. It seemed that it was a sword of some kind. He then recognized it. It was Karri's sword, Demon's Rampage! He quickly swam over to it, picked it up, and began bolting towards the surface. Being encountered by another group of monsters didn't help at all to him. He splashed out of the water, only fifty yards from the cliff. He swung his head around, trying to get the water off his head, but the monsters still came. He launched into the air, as did they.
They can fly, too? Alex thought, engaging in the air. He swung violently at the beasts, missing only a few times on one of them. There were still twelve at least left. He remembered one move he learned from his Angel training that he could do with three swords. He placed Balmung in his mouth, Demon's Rampage in his left hand, and Guardian Angel in his right. He began to circle around in one spot, spinning in all directions, like when you throw a regular ball into the air. The demons neared him, but they were very soon after cut into ribbons.
He stopped spinning when he was sure they were all dead. He took and put Balmung back in its sheath, same with Guardian Angel, and carried Demon's Rampage. He landed at the campground, found some cloth that he always carried with him, and wrapped Demon's Rampage in it. The usual darkness that it had emmited had vanished, as its user was killed. This would be the same for Guardian Angel and if Alex was killed. Now, he felt very tired and weary. He lay down in his bed, and went to sleep. "Maybe, I slept too much, and I've grown tired from sleeping." He said to himself, dozing off into the mystery known as the dream realm.

((OOC: Okay, I only read like... half of the post because my focus is totally not working today...))
Kaida and Dezzy started to follow him to the camp site. "Ugh," Dezzy groaned, rubbing her right temple. "My head hurts like hell right now. You really do have a hard head..."
Kaida simply chuckled, though her head hurt just as bad. She knew it would go away soon for her; her healing powers ensured she didn't hurt for very long. She just wished she could help her younger friend in some way or another. She tried to comfort her a bit. "If we had had full use of both of our powers we probably wouldn't be so sore. I doubt we'd beat him; he has massive amounts of power and he knows how to use them. We have me, experienced but not even half as powerful as you, and you, inexperienced and powerful enough to kill yourself if you're not careful on how much power you use," she said, though in the end she realized that either way was just as depressing as the other. "That'll change with time though, don't worry. You just need some training."
Dezzy nodded, staring off into the sky. "Yeah, I guess," she murmured, plopping down in front of the fire. Kaida shook her head patiently like a mother watching her small child trying to comprehend something that was incomprehensible to even adults.

Alex alerted himself to wake up, just as he felt another dark presence. He jumped up, only to see Kaida and Dezzy sitting out nearby the fire. He went back in his tent, grabbed all three of the swords, and placed them in this order from left to right on his back: Demon's Rampage, Guardian Angel, Balmung. He looked to the two. "I'll be right back." He said, jumping over and clearing the fire with one flip at about the top of his jump. "There's a pile of wood nearby my tent. If the fire grows dim, put more wood on it." He charged off into the direction of Junon.
After half an hour, he stopped half-way between the campground and Junon, overlooking the sea. Directly to in front of him and half a mile out to sea was where his blast had impacted and killed his cousin. The waves moved in an awkward way, out to sea. They should have been moving out from the sea. It looked almost like the water was taking itself back and retreating to the open ocean. Maybe it was his being tired, he had huge dark circles under his eyes. Or, something could be going on that would be very bad. He couldn't go into the water anymore, because it might pull him far out to sea, wear out his magic, and die, because the Rebreathe spell wouldn't work any longer.
This was a major delema for Alex, because he knew he couldn't just sit there, do nothing, and let something happen to the world that could wreck it forever. He made up his mind: He was going to the water's edge, and summon the darkness. He jumped down to the shoreline, and went into his Devil form. This usually brought forth dark spirits. Just then, the night air grew cold. The water stood still, the wind silenced, and all motion seemed to stop. A spirit rose from the depths. It was Karri's spirit.
Alex looked on with amazement as the spirit headed towards the sky, and reverted back to normal. It hit him then that the spirit, if absorbed by the Lifestream, would corrupt it and destroy the world. He quickly turned into Arc Angel, flew up, and slashed the spirit of the darkest energy with his Holy Blade, Guardian Angel. The spirit fell to the ocean bellow, and Alex took Demon's Rampage off his back. He looked at it, then threw it back to the ocean. It went far deep into the core of the planet, Karri's spirit along with it. This was her final resting place.
Alex landed back on the cliff, reverted, began walking to the camp, and thought. This was a special occasion for him: He had fulfilled his life's meaning, and now must live on to protect the ones he cared for. Most of all Dezzy. He owed her so much for not being there, and he would start her training once the morning light hit. But, all his plans changed when he was about half way to where he had left Karri's "tomb" and the camp. He fell to the ground, asleep.

Dezzy curled up in a ball, not pondering Alex's leaving. She was too tired, and if she wanted to train properly tomorrow she would need her rest and would need to be at full strength. Kaida, though, watched him leave, half curious and half worried. She sighed, standing up and throwing another log on the fire. She looked at her sleeping companion. (She's exhausted. She tried so hard today to show me what she can do, even though she had fought beside Alex earlier. She's determined, and strong. I guess pushing herself is the only way she's going to build herself up any better.
She laid on her back, her arms behind her head. She didn't want to sleep, but the exhaustion of trying to contain the explosions caused by Dezzy's magic and the warmth of the glowing fire lulled her into a peaceful world of dreams.

Alex woke up. He had to keep going to make it back to the camp. He dragged himself to his feet, and began slowly walking to the camp. He had no idea if something was happening to them, and he had to get back ASAP. This was very important to Alex, the safety of them both. This also gave him a burst of speed, and he charged towards the camp. He jumped into the air and began to fly. He reached the campgrounds, and saw they were asleep peacefully. He stopped flying, and crash landed into the ground. He slept next to Dezzy, barely missing her. The spirits that had kept him awake left him, and he rested his head, his body, his mind, and soul.

((OOC: Dezzy's dreaming in this one))
Dezzy could hear footsteps echoing throughout the space that she was in. It seemed to be a forest, though everything was quiet and every footstep echoed. She looked around, but she saw nothing but trees in the full bloom of summer. She was sure she was dreaming, but at the same time she wasn't sure of anything at all. All she knew was she felt insecure without her swords and in only a white cotton summer dress that she couldn't remember ever wearing before.
A giggle came from behind her and she turned to see a young girl, much shorter than her with blond hair that was so pale it was almost white. "Silly, that was your favorite dress when you were little," the girl disappeared, popping up next to her and looking at the trees. Dezzy turned and noticed that the girl wore a similar dress and her eyes glowed like green Materia.
"Who are you?" her own voice echoed louder than the footsteps had earlier. The little girl smiled, taking her hand as the scene changed to that of a quiet village. The sun was just setting, yet she could see no one around. The place felt familiar. "What is this?"
"This is the place that you worked and lived for so many years after Meteorfall. You came to the village by yourself and took care of yourself until you finally died," the girl told her, leading her through the streets. "Kalm... It's not too far from Midgar. It was your safe haven, even moreso than Sephiroth's arms were."
Dezzy sighed, stopping in front of a small apartment complex. "Please don't remind me of that..." she said softly. She looked down at the little girl. "He's not a part of my life anymore... and that life is no longer mine anyways. I have Kaida and Alex now, and besides, the world's apparently going to be destroyed if I don't help protect it."
The little girl shook her head with a smile. "You don't have to do anything, it is your freedom to make your own choice. Just as you could have chosen to stay and Midgar and die, you can choose to do nothing now. You don't have to learn to control your powers and you don't have to fight. The world won't end just because one girl decided she doesn't want to fight anymore," she said, letting go of Dezzy's hand as the scene changed again to a ruined Midgar. "You're a big girl now. You don't have Momma and Papa to hold your hands anymore. Alex and Kaida can train you, but they can't save you. Whether you choose to fight or not, you're still in danger and there's still a chance you'll die in the end. Everyone dies, you'll just be dying to protect the planet."
Dezzy laughed bitterly; she knew she didn't really have a choice. "I wish. I owe it to people like Alex and Kaida, and other people who helped me survive when I was younger and alone, to fight. There's no real choice there. Either way I have to fight. At least if I choose to fight I won't look like such a coward," the scene changed again to the campsite where they slept.
She felt strange deja vu looking down at her own body, lying close to Alex's. "Besides. I want to help protect Alex and everyone from harm..." she said quietly, as Kaida shifted in sleep. She looked at the little girl, but she was no longer at her side. "Where did you go? What is this place? who are you?"
"You're in your own mind... This is the place where your subconscious and conscious minds clash," the girl's voice echoed as the area around Dezzy went completely black. "And if you should be able to guess for yourself who I am... Here's a hint: You know me better than anyone else, I am part of your past and your future, yet I'm never part of your present..."
Dezzy woke with a startled gasp, looking around, first at Kaida, then at the spot she had just dreamed herself standing in, then at Alex and finally at the dying fire. She stood up quietly, trying not to disturb anyone. The sun was just starting to peak up over the horizon. She stretched, putting another log on the fire before wandering off a little ways to think on what she had just heard.

Alex heard a sort of movement nearby him. He woke up, now fully rested and energized, grabbed and pulled Guardian Angel out of its sheath as he sat up quickly. He saw nothing. He sighed, sheathing Guardian Angel, and got up. The sun was just about risen, so he went into his tent. He searched around for a minute, and found the food he had brought along with him before he left Junon. It consisted of bacon, eggs, cheese, sausage, bread, butter, and some juice. When he came back out, he saw Dezzy had left.
Whatever... He thought. She must've had a bad dream or something and needed to walk it off. I'm pretty sure she'll be back soon. He placed the eggs in a pan, same with the sausage and bacon but in different pans for each, and began to slowly warm the bread. After a little while, the food was done. He buttered the toast and sat down, put some food on the plate, and began to eat.
He heard a rustling noise nearby him from the brush next to Kaida's tent. He looked over alarmed, and set down his plate. With a hand on Balmung's hilt, he slowly walked over. There was a moving and living thing behind the bushes. He was just about over to the bushes, when a small girl stepped out. She had a long blouse with gray, blue, and pink colors. She had no shoes or hat or coat, and she looked freezing. Her long amber hair reached the middle of her back, and she looked only about ten (10.) Alex quickly took his hand off of Balmung, and knelt down.
The little girl stared at him in freight. He smiled re-assuringly to the girl, and placed a hand on her head. "Don't worry." He said. "It's okay. You look cold, come here to the fire, I've made some food." The girl smiled slightly, and began walking towards where Alex was sitting.

((OOC: I tried posting yesterday but my internet went out before I got a chance to send the post, otherwise you would have had this before now.))
Damani headed back toward their little camp. She was bothered by her dreams, but she wasn't willing to just let herself go because of it. She had training to do, and people to protect, not to mention a future she obviously had to consider. She stopped, seeing Alex talking to a little girl. Kaida's eye were closed in sleep, yet Damani could tell the older woman was listening, most likely trying not to scare the little girl. Kaida had a gift of being more in tune to people's feelings. Damani approached quietly, realizing she probably looked threatening covered with soil and a little bit of blood from some of her wounds from the day before. She ran her hand through her dirty hair. (I need a shower or bath badly... I'll have to get that soon, as well as a new outfit. This thing has so many tears in it now!) she thought to herself, sitting down in the place she had laid that night. At least her muscles were relaxed, even if her mind wasn't.

The young girl, looked behind herself, and quickly latched onto Alex's arm. She buried her face in his chest, sitting in his lap. Alex looked back to see Dezzy sitting there. He waved calmly to her. "You hungry?" He asked. "I've made some food if you are. Come on over and take a seat next to your good ol' friend." He patted the ground next to himself, on his left. The young girl sat to his right, and she slowly moved back.
Alex dished up some food for Dezzy, whether she wanted it or not. The young girl sat very close to Alex, silently eating her food. Alex looked over to the girl, and asked. "What's your name?" The girl looked up to him with glistening eyes. It seems she'd never met someone as kind as he. She had a great big smile on her face.
"My name's Vikki." She replied, leaning on his shoulder. "Thank you. What's your name, kind sir?"
"I'm Alex. It's nice to meet you." He looked to the fire, as it was getting quite dim. He stood up, went to his fire pile, picked up a bunch of wood, and began to evenly through it among the blazing pile. He sat back down a little after he was sure the fire was at its fullest blaze. Vikki leaned against him again, and began to cuddle next to him. Alex put his arm around her shoulders, and smiled as she fell asleep.

Dezzy sat next to Alex, eating her food silently. It had been a week since she had anything other than her steady diet of homemade bread she had stolen from Raistlin. She wasn't used to eating more than a couple mouthfuls anyways; she had taken to eating very little because she would always need to nap for a few hours, cutting her training time short. She had to force the food down after the first few mouthfuls and eventually just gave up. She knew if she didn't start to eat more she'd lose a lot of weight and it wouldn't be conducive to a lot of strength.
She looked at the little girl with an awkward smile. She and little girls seemed to be magnetic to each other. Back at Fort Condor she had had a little girl stalking her everywhere she when, and then the little girl in her dreams... Of course she couldn't say much; the little girl in her dreams was supposedly her.

Alex quickly finished his meal. He sat back, with his arm still around Vikki, and let out a quiet burp. Vikki was still asleep, so he picked her up in his arms, and carried her to his bed. Covering her up, he went back outside. Looking to Dezzy, he motioned for her to follow him. "C'mon, we've had a good meal, or whatever we had of one, so now let's start your training." Alex walked into a clearing behind the tents. He stretched himself out, and then stood straight and looked at the sun as it was beginning to rise. "Rising Sun..." He quietly said. "My Ultimate move. I've never lost with it before, because you cannot stop the sun from rising." He waited for Dezzy to follow him, as he recalled yesterday's occurances.
He stopped thinking, and then called aloud to Dezzy. "We'd better start by doing the boring stuff first: Deep Meditation. Only through that will you become a powerful warrior, grasshoppah." He chuckled slighty as he said the last word. "Sorry, always wanted to do that. Whenever you're ready, just tell me."

Dezzy chuckled quietly. "Hai, Sensei!" she snapped a salute, then screwed up her face and thought. Then she bowed to him like she would a teacher. "Though I've had enough meditation for the past couple of weeks to pretty much count as a coma..."
It was something Cal and suggested for her to help control her magic and energy flow, and she did it whenever she felt her powers going out of control. She smiled at the memory of her first attempt at meditation. Her mind had been flickering around from thought to thought, unable to keep calm with questions and the urge to keep working on her Holy Bolt technique. That was before it had even had a name or a real form. "I'm ready whenever you are," she finally told him with a nod.

Alex turned around, and laughed slightly at Dezzy's attempt to formally greet him. He put his head in his hand, and smiled. He raised his head. "Let's forget the formal greetings, and just call me Alex, okay? We're friends." He grew serious, and sat down. "Sit next to me." He said, motioning for her to sit next to him. "Search your mind for that one thing you hold dearest in your soul, and think of it deeply." He closed his eyes. He thought of his family that he once knew, or wished he had known well enough. "Whatever it is you hold dear, keep it at the front of your mind. Do not flutter through your thoughts. Keep your head in place. Think of the most important thing to you at this moment, and relax. Let the feelings overflow you. Then, you will have basic meditation."

Dezzy nodded, sitting next to him. What was most important to her? If you have asked her that a few weeks ago she would have said that there was nothing important to her. She searched through her mind, going through every face and location that she had ever seen in either of her lives. She had loved Midgar more than anything, but that time was long gone. Finally her mind rested on the only face that made her heart feel anything special at all; Alex's. She couldn't explain it, but for some reason she felt a bit warm thinking about him.
He had been her first real friend in this new life, as well as her mentor, and she felt like she owed him her life, as well as her respect. She concentrated on his face, his voice, his smile, everything, slowly relaxing her body muscle by muscle.
